Back in the mid 2000's 05 to 2011 I had 2 gopeds one sport one Bigfoot and the Martin Monster supershocker off-road edition scooter. All were fully rebuilt by myself and I raced them in the streets. Sold them on Craigslist. Gonna buy one again.
This was the last one, but there are always rides going on, if you join the gopednation group on Facebook that is where all of them are posted. You will be able to find the dates and locations there. They take place all over.

I'm shocked people buy these!!! i was on their site! they have a go kart for 2k,... motor is worth 150 at best! i could weld up a better frame for less than $100!! i might have to change my line of work!
Full tank won't last the whole ride. Need to start with a full tank and bring an extra gallon in a backpack. I don't remember how far we rode, probably around 50 miles.
I want to decry this activity as a blatant affront to law abiding citizens and polite society in the civilized world… but it’s kind of ridiculous & looks like they had a lot of fun. I cannot help but to laugh at the hilarity of it all. Stay safe out there.

Goped.com sells them but they are extremely overpriced if you buy brand new. You can usually find a good deal on craigslist or offerup but it depends on your location. Ebay is usually more expensive than craigslist but if you do not have any in your are it's another option
Most of the riders are using GP460's which are 46cc. Some riders are using 64cc engines. Most of these guys are going between 45 to 55 mph, some even faster.
My Evo 70x with the Huasheng Kasei Chinese Ferrari motor with a few mods and single final drive can hit around 100km/h if not more when I put a 14-40 tooth configuration on. In South Africa it is all we can get our hands on except for Stihl, Husqvarna Mitsubishi T200 is the Kasei 52cc/63cc so we have to make things work and trust me they work well!

Looks mega fun, I wonder how all of them keep their chains working reliably, that's my biggest problem and has been for years.
Everyone is carrying chain lube with them and lube the chain often. Make sure your sprockets are aligned as well

We passed a few cops along the way. They usually don't bother us. Last time I was stopped for riding gopeds was in 1998.
steering columns are so low compared to e-scooters out there. I would go right over those handle bars so easily.
They come in taller sizes but most people cut them down to a shorter size for more stability

No permits or anything. Police did stop by when we stopped for lunch but they just said ride safe
