Adem - Ringing In My Ear (2004)

Adem releases the second single from his much-loved 'Homesongs' debut album, with 'Ringing in my ear' released on Domino Recordings on September 6. One of the most upbeat and immediate tracks from an album described by Word magazine as being akin to "lantern-wielding gentlefolk descending upon a troubled soul", 'Ringing in my ear' easily eludes and transcends any attempt to peg Adem as just another nu-folkie. Like hope made music, it proves to be the work of a timeless talent, whose aching and weary voice seems to draw from a deep well of collective emotional experience.

He's the sweetest guy, too. I had the pleasure of meeting him while playing at a small venue in Portland, ME in the early 2000s. He put on amazing show and I have always wanted to see him play again, but have not yet been lucky enough to. When I spoke with him after the show, he was kind, funny and friendly. :)

Yeah. I always hear that whistle in my head and its louder than Uriah Heep on the live, but this is so lovely tune that even the melody makes me happy :)
