I used a sawsall to cut any exposed roots to give at least 7 inches of soil to plant grass seed. I was able to get as close as four feet of the stump. I drilled holes in stump and applied ep. salt. Later I used sawsall to criss cross top of stump and now cut away starting from outside of stump on an angle and will continue until stump is gone.
