what are the odds? I'm painting my home in Hercules, CA and I decided to replace the blown 16 ohm speaker. I knew it was going to be hard finding one. I typed in the model # is-69 and saw the assembly on ebay for 150.00!!! Oh no! Then I typed it in to youtube and found this video! Ordered my replacement speaker today :-)

Hi sonamsam23: I'm unsure if you're asking about a Mircom Station or a TekTone Station - These are both Stations that are used with Apartment Intercom Systems - The NuTone ISA335WH (which is discontinued) is not at all compatible with any other brand of Intercom Equipment and is not an Apartment Intercom System Station - Since your Station is probably part of a larger overall System (with stations in other units) you should not attempt to mix-and-match other equipment - it can effect the entire System - Chris

All of the ones I've seen (even the ones produced 15 years ago) the metal grill on the outside of the speaker is missing and you can just see the speaker. I don't know what causes it.
+Vincent D :HI Vincent, The perforated grills fall off because the adhesive that was used gets dried out and then the grill comes loose. There's no solution for a missing grill (unless you still it) other than trying to make a replacement (not easy to do)
In these cased, a new door station is the best choice. Stay tuned for part 3, where I show how to replace an original door station with a new model

I don't personally have the intercom option in my house (which was built 15 years ago when the neighborhood was built) but a lot of my neighbors have it installed... wish I would've opted for that option when we were having our house built. But if my neighbors ever ask me if I know anything I'll tell them what I've learned! BTW interesting channel you guys have set up here! (:

Vincent D I’ve got a NuTone Austen in my house and it gets used quite a bit because I love vintage items and my intercom was made in 1982 so it’s a good thing that I watched this because the outdoor speaker is weathered badly my plan is this summer I’m gonna replace the speaker cone since I have a bunch of the newer speaker sones
