Amazing set, smooth transitions, excellent track selection, badass mixing skills, reminds of the days as a younster when I went to Jeff Mills a lot, been a vinyl only DJ for almost 30 years myself so big respect man ❤
Yo buddy.... just came across ya mix and channel. I feel ya energy and records.. good stuff!!❤ i also love to play this kinda sounds, so i really resonate with ya mixes... quality!!! Love from one dj to another 😃👌🎶🫂🍀 Peace, Soultoucha (germany)
First of, congrats on the banging set and having a unique DJ'ing style. A quick question: how did you get so good at grooveriding? Also, do you watch the relative position of the tempo slider and the side marks, or do you go just purely by muscle memory and feeling?
I finally learned to play on vinyl over the past two years, and one day I just sort of "started" using the pitch fader to shift the record back and forth instead of touching the platter. I knew about the concept of pitchriding but hadn't tried or practiced it really. But I kept doing this because I found it actually easier, and more accurate. I started to get a feel for actually beat matching almost exclusively with the fader, and now it's really muscle memory. One tip is to initially raise the pitch faster than the other record, and nudge very fast downward, and then quickly back up landing a notch or so below where it was previously at. Repeat this until you start closing in on the exact spot. This technique makes it easier because you know that if the record goes out of phase, it's still too fast so you have to lower the pitch - you don't need to raise it. And eventually, you just feel it and hear it.
Nothing but that oldschool techno.
