Honestly, this video helped me in how to properly reach out to potential clients. I've been editing for almost 4 years now (since 14), but I've always wondered how the heck I'll be able to find clients. I was always in that mentality of: "What's the point, they probably wont see it..". I see that's a taboo mentality to have in a profession where marketing yourself correctly is key to finding work. People say that I'm still very young for this (18), but I believe this is the best time to start.

Thanks for this video, I’m currently pursuing a career in post production in LA and the industry is in a slump right now where there’s no work, so I’m hoping with the experience I’ve gotten in the past year I can keep the momentum going and get some consistent freelance work!
By following your course, around how much can you earn as a video editor before you must create an agency? Does it top out at around $3K/month? There is only so much time in a day. But I read posts on reddit from editors who earn $1k a day. But perhaps they are working for a studio or something.
It depends how well you present/market yourself really. There are TH-camrs that pay thousands for videos, and there's ones that pay hundreds. Ultimately the better at business you are, the more you'll get paid. That's why I thought it was so incredibly important to have 2/3rds of the course business related, because no one else will show you the ins and outs of the model. To answer your question, it doesn't top out at $3k but there obviously would be a ceiling to it before you have to explore scaling.

Hi Sam, great video! What MacBook do you use to edit on? And does it handle complex loads such as adding layers of effects and not cause any slow playback? Just curious as I was looking into getting a MacBook to edit myself. :)
Mine is a 2021 Macbook Pro 16" - I went for the large screen so I can see as much of my editing timeline as possible. It's handled everything I've thrown at it perfectly so far, I've traveled a lot with it, had tons of tabs and applications open at the same time. Heavy AE, Premiere renderings gone smoothly etc. I would recommend! The only time the playback has been affected was whilst editing 100GB+ of podcast footage. 3 or so 4K cameras playing simultaneously. It just lowered the FPS of the playback slightly but I guess if you had time, you could just render the footage overnight before editing.

@digibutx speak with me directly if you would like to hire a video editor in my network, please don't respond to comments like this. Every single one of your 15 comments have hit my spam filter and been removed. Not a very smart way of hiring an editor is it 🧠
Hey man, i was signing up for the FREE CHECKLIST and i was waiting it for my inbox and the mail did not send
And I Signed Up for your video the other day called the free AI Tools that saved me hundreds of hours And Was waiting for it in my inbox and it did not send too
Yeah I see what you mean. For whatever reason my automated system has just skipped your email sa I see it in the first half of the process but not the 2nd?
I've wiped your email from the system now so could you retry requesting the cheatsheet? Should only take 3 mins or so to be delivered.
If not, let me know, and I'll send them over manually! :)
@@sampdbiz Got It Ill try it Again

Hi
Hi!
Think my anxiety about getting involved with this is simply that there are SO many freelance editors now that someone just starting out on the freelance front won’t be able to get noticed
You just have to be slightly above the rest to stand out. And if you focus on standing out, there’s no way you can’t get recognised.
I have a crappy pc too so i know your suffering 😂
It was a nightmare hahah!
Do you have contact information? Looking for an editor and budgets. Thanks.
Hi there, unfortunately I'm not looking to take on anymore projects right now, but by all means join my free community of video editors and post a job posting, there'll be lots in there.
Hey do you still needed editor
Great video mate! Would love to make contact with you if you dont mind
Hey bro, I’m always active in my free community in the video description:)
