Cell tower grounds maintenance

- A video I made a few years back. Cleaning up the compound under a self-supporting cell tower using a Stihl KM130R trimmer. We clear them mostly every year while doing general maintenance on the site. This particular site grows like that every year so vegetation needs to be controlled every year.

A DR trimmer would work awesome for this one.
I've been thinking about doing this for a long time. I use to climb towers when I was younger. And I remember the mess that was left after the job was done. We'd have a groundsman come and clean up. I thought when I get older I might like to do that. I'm older now.
Yeah, its a fun job. I'm glad that I made the choice to start this company. Get to do various tasks inside and outside the shelter. Being alone on the road, in the mountains, no one to bother me. Except the flyes and wasps haha. Can't think of any better way to spend my workdays!
What's the average cost to do a job like this?
It really depends on how many sites we have to visit in the area and the scope of work we have to do onsite. We are a telecom contracting company so when we visit a site, we do almost everything. Full site inspection, shelter and fencing repairs, equipment installation/removal projects and also part of the maintenance plan we do vegetation removal inside the compound.
As for brush clearing, most sites are done once every year, so we try to do multiple sites in the same day. I can't really give you an average price per job because each site is different but count between 1 to 3 hours of labour per site + travel + hotel. Sometimes we come upon sites that weren't maintained for years so we can spend an entire day there!
