There are some stages of motherhood where I would rather read blog articles all day long and not play videos while my kids are playing or watching a video. (Case in point: I fully admit I only watched about 30 seconds of this video but I did read the description in full. :D ) People still read blogs.

I really appreciate your format!! You videos are full of information in an easy-to-understand way. I've taken four pages of notes (front and back) from two videos! Thank you so much!! 🤞😊✌🍀

What about a blog with a video as well? Looking to move my carpet cleaning website up the SERP. Plan is to make a blog with video that answers each of those 'suggested google questions' that pop up. Then use Google Business Profile Posts to send people to the article and video on my site. Thoughts? Am I on the right track?

@@WesMcDowellInc I'm also wondering about videos in blogs, but the other way around. Let's say you're primarily making videos in terms of your content marketing. Do you think transcribing each video and formatting the transcription into a scannable format to put in the post with the video on your website would be worth the effort? As opposed to just adding a short description for what's in the video?

We believe that Blogging remains an effective marketing tool as ever. The main rule is quality over quantity. Keywords are certainly important, but the quality of your content needs to come first. Take the time to write your posts, and dig deeper. Engage with your audience and build conversations.

Do you still think this is true after the recent update where time on page can actually hurt? Same with long content? Thanks.

I’m curious as well because as I was listening to this I felt like it was very out of touch. I know I’m not unique so I’m trying to figure out who is reading 2,000+ word essays/blog post about products. When I’m reading a blog post about a product it’s usually because I’m trying to decide if I want to buy it or learn more about it in general. I prefer to read multiple posts before making that decision. And I’m usually doing this when I’m at work or on transit or when I’m at home decompressing from the day. I do not want to read a 2,000+ word article about a product. In fact, the only time I’m reading an article that’s that long is when it’s news related. And for reference, I have a degree in writing, the length of my book chapters are usually 2,000-3,000. On letter head paper, double spaced that’s about 8 to 12 pages. That’s an essay about candles, wooden chair, spare tires, etc. Who is reading that unless it’s a comparison piece about products from multiple companies?

@@WesMcDowellInc I'm confused. Is the blog section on your website a separate section to the articles???
