Great for carrying sponge or polystyrene but not much real world use .mite be ok for a bit of firewood.dont try driving up to Scotland with weight on it vosa will pounce on you there pulling overloaded 4x4 all the lately.. 😎😍

Glad your happy with the purchase but not for me, you've lost your approach angle and the rear door access unless you empty it.
The more weight you add the less places you will be able go, maybe good for camping trips not so sure on overland expeditions.

careful that carrier can hold 500 lbs but your vehicle receiver not, which can hold max 150-200 lbs including the carrier itself. so standing on it will be disaster for your chassis.

My hitch receiver supports 900kg. I will only be loading around 80kg on my trips 👍👍

Awesome bit of kit. My buddy has something similar, uses a cheep piece of material as an underlay when using the waterproof bag. It helps to extend the life of it and reduces the risk of punctures from road debris. FYI, you can fit a body in the bag...😂🤣😅... Cheers 🍻, take care and stay frosty.

I think a trailer would be a better buy.
I had a receiver like that for my LR , they aren’t legal in the uk to use to tow a trailer.
You gonna regret buying that. If your tailgate door was opening up it wouldnt be an issue. But for side opening doors is a nightmare.... especially that you have the spare tire behind the door. So you can't even open the door more than couple inches. I bought it for my RAV4 and returned it next day 😅

Looks to be usefull bit of kit. Does it come with the receiver mounted to drop plate?
Where in UK did you get it from or was it shipped from US? What was price in pounds incl shipping?
Receiver drop plate was extra and we arranged our own courier and it cost £107 for the delivery
The luggage carrier is a lot smarter than a trailer, there is no problem on the small roads with having to reverse, it is just smart. Only problem, do not load more than 500 pounds into it, otherwise the front wheels will fly up in the air. 😁

Just bought the same carrier (looks identical,) but it has a different mfg. name for $75 last Wednesday. It is in brand new condition.

Yer looks good but you’re going to have to unload it every time you want to use the back door I recon that will be a pain in the ass and if your go of road it’s going to really stuff up you exit angle 😎
I can access the Landy from the side door. I would have to remove the carrier in a tight situation 👍👍
You have 150kg on the towball/mount that is the MAXIMUM you can put behind the vehicle. The other thing is any weightss that far behind the rear of the vehicle massively detracts from the rear axle loading, you basically remove TWICE the weight off the rear axle. So your 226kg load plus the rack say a total of 300kg takes 600kg off the rear axle, you are now overloading the rear axle if you have anything in the back. waste of time, you are better to put additional weight in the middle of the vehicle where it is shared by both axles, not biased totally to one axle. ps, for the 150kg max loading you can only have a total weight at that distance of less than 75kg inclusive of the rack. which is probably about 50kg... If the rack is near to twice the distance from rear axle to tow ball from the back of the vehicle you devide the weight (150kg towbar weight) by 3, thus 50kg, which is probably zero load capability of the unit.

@@BushwackerOverland no problem, basically you've bought a chocolate teapot. I also suspect it breaches quite a few uk laws if you were to use it. You are better off just buying a trailer as it is much safer for all. If the basket was closer to the vehicle then it might be some use, but again, you're limited by the 150kg down weighting on the towbar/rear crossmember. but right in close gives maximum usable capacity.

Vertical load on tow arm is a max of 150kg. I reckon this will exceed that! Still if you want to drive with the front wheels off the ground😁

@@BushwackerOverland Aleister is correct, tow bar weight is 150kg max. read my comment and you get to see why this is no good at all. anything of the back is 2+ times it's weight off the rear axle load capability.
