That works great against a non-fighter, but a pro would have absolutely DESTROYED him if he tried that. It's that kind of move an amateur does, but yeah, it is effective if the other person doesn't know what he's doing. A professional probably wouldn't have attacked like that, and as a result Thor, who isn't a professional, probably barely knew how to handle it either because he was trained to fight a boxer, not a nut-job throwing wild haymakers. The viking press "drama" wasnt really a drama. you have 2 of the 3 referees on tape confirming that thors reps werent correct, he was warned for not holding the weights long enough on the top, warned 3 more times that he was double-dipping, and then his last atempt wasnt locked and therefore completly disqualified. so thor actually got lucky to get 2nd place in the viking press, th-cam.com/video/wLZ11aNr-7s/w-d-xo.htmlsi=Wvg1nxEyqHkNARnt&t=1162 best who was standing right next to him screamed at him for not waiting for the referees ok to lower the weights again. i mean that also some kind of achivement, youre direct competitor takes his time to scream at you that you should listen to the referee.

Here is the thing, Eddies first attacks looked fierce, but they were awful, they were just wildly swinging his arms trying to know Thor out.
There was a real chance that Eddie could have won there since Thor really didn't have the experience to deal with it. But he's strong enough and still skilled enough to not get ko'd by it. But that does make it seem like Eddie had the advantage early on when honestly I don't really think so. Thor also could have been throwing wild haymakers at the start but he knew that that's a bad strategy.
I could probably outsprint a marathon runner, doesn't mean I was beating him in the marathon at first, just means that runner quickly at the start ISN'T a good thing.

When they told Eddie his defense strategy they said keep your hand up mate. Dang if only they would have added the s. Would have made a big difference.
Eddie was relying on self belief which he has lots of and the chance of landing a hay maker. Big ups to both.
Eddie went in emotionally and all he wanted to do was smash Thor in the face once.
If he didn’t surround himself with yes men he would have won. All his claims of beating top pros was pure bullshit. He said it so much he believed it.
Honestly, there was some good head movement and jabs in this, would definitely like to see a rematch. Also, it's surprising to see none of these guys got knocked out considering the power behind those punches.

Pathetic job Eddie. He was hoping Bryce would be the referee and hand him a free win?
@@TheVanillatech He was hoping Bryce would be the referee and hand him a free win?
that part of the story is the biggest bullshit. IMG organised the competition and chosed the exercises. bryce wasnt a part of IMG. The viking press and tireflip favored smaller athleates, the atlas stones and planepull favoured bigger competitors.
it also leaves a bad taste that halfthor forced himself into the conversation. till the deadlift (5th exercise of 6) the actual titlefight was between eddie hall and brian shaw, during the deadlift brian injured his knee, thats how halfthor got into second place.
The viking press "drama" wasnt really a drama. you have 2 of the 3 referees on tape confirming that thors reps werent correct, he was warned for not holding the weights long enough on the top, warned 3 more times that he was double-dipping, and then his last atempt wasnt locked and therefore completly disqualified. so thor actually got lucky to get 2nd place in the viking press, th-cam.com/video/wLZ11aNr-7s/w-d-xo.htmlsi=Wvg1nxEyqHkNARnt&t=1162
best who was standing right next to him screamed at him for not waiting for the referees ok to lower the weights again. i mean that also some kind of achivement, youre direct competitor takes his time to scream at you that you should listen to the referee.
Eddie too powerful. Hafthor lucky. If Eddie took 20 good boxing lessons and learns to keep his hands up, Hafthor would be done.
Thor is more powerful and could do the same thing. What is wrong with you people
If if if
What happened to defence?!! 😄 Eddie seen too much Rocky
eddie did absolutely amazing, considering he only had 1 arm. detached bicep and still fights. That's why is is the beast
Another one buying into Eddie excuses, he lied about that man, he was lifting just fine after, funny how he just had a torn bicep for that match yet a mere 4 days after was lifting on an injury that would take 8 plus months. Cmon Eddie fan, you wanted him to win but he was a bum and lost, he was one hand hay maker shotting in training for fucks sake.
Boxing is all about having your punch connect & scoring points. Knockouts are the only way to beat the system, but you can’t count on it.
Both were better fighters than i expected. Decent fight.
It’s bizarre how hardly anyone here is acknowledging that Eddie is fighting one handed. He can’t punch with his left cos he tore his bicep off the bone n had to have surgery before the fight. It’s obvious to see even without knowing that, that he was fighting basically with one arm. Did a great job considering.
He got out classed and that is that I'm afraid, he had plenty of recovery time it's just an excuse because he got got beat in an embarrassing fashion.. even came out with a video afterwards comparing himself to Caroline flack because he was getting ripped to shreds lol
@@img5452cause he is humble. In my opinion it would have been a valid excuzd. You don't knos how much muscle tears suck. They are awful. Literally fuck that muscle up for months. I am dealing with a bicep injury for half a year now.

To be fair, these two had solid athlete background vefore competing in strongman competitions. Thor once played basketball for Iceland's youth team and Eddie was part of UK's youth aquatics team
