I am really itching to get whole home solar set up! Can’t decide on something like this or total DIY build yet. 🤔🤷♂️
That's what I'm working towards in the new year. There are some government grants available right now, so I have an energy evaluation taking place in January towards a goal of a 2024 build out.
I was thinking of getting something like this to install in my Esterel Folding caravan so that I can use the lights and sink without a hook-up, i'll have to work out if the onboard caravan 220/12v voltage converter uses much power when in idle . I could use the 12V output of course, but on these old caravans everythig is 12V AC and not DC!
That's an interesting application. I'm actually surprised that it runs on AC, as most of the time with boats and caravans people have to use inverters to get from DC to AC (at least here in North America)
@@DustinAbbottTWI yes the French had some strange ideas 💡in the past 🤣. Well the light bulbs don't mind if it's AC or DC but the water pump has a small 12v AC/DC voltage converter. As for the 3 way fridge , well it's either gas, 220v AC ( mains) or 12v DC from the car's battery whilst driving along. I just need an autonomous solution to power the lights and water pump, and something like this would mean I wouldn't even have to modify anything on the caravan's electric installation, it's just plug and play. I like that idea.
At about minute 8:10 and 8:30.....you need to show and explain about the "Power Bank" function on the B80 which is needed to charge the AC70.
It's pretty self explanatory. It just acts as a charge source for the AC70
@@DustinAbbottTWI Do you know what the Power Bank function is and why it is necessary to put the B80 into the mode to use it to charge power stations other than the AC60?
At about minute 8:25 you plugged the B80 into the AC70 and just pushed the B80 power button to turn it ON. Notice the DC input on the AC 70 doesn't change. You need to hold down the power button on the B80 for about 10 seconds until it starts blinking. This tells you that the B80 is in the Power Bank mode, and the DC input on the AC70 will show about 185 watts. You should explain this mode and the necessary procedure in your review.
At minute 6:15 "..two 120V AC sockets for total of 100 Watts....." Huh! 100Watts total for the two 120 VAC sockets? Where did that come from?
