    Looks very trim and neat. I need to leave mine in place for luggage and it also keeps a large amount of the muck off from the roads in my area in the UK during winter. I had a Z900 with a tail tidy before I got this bike and was always getting mess thrown up onto my back.

    That looks MUCH better, nicely done! I have a 2018 Aprilia Dorsoduro 900 that has a "beak" fender (high mount), and I never liked the looks of it. I finally took the time to see what would be involved with replacing it with a typical "hugger" front fender, and was able to do it. I did have to get another OEM headlight/fender bracket and cut it (the bottom of the headlight was supported by this), but other than that, wasn't too involved.

    Very neat. I usually tidy up the rear end of my bikes, but I actually like the look of the standard V100 rear fender. Moto Guzzi have put a bit of effort into giving it a unique look, and the little 'shelves' are handy for GoPro mounts. My dealer was doing a special offer of including the panniers for free too, so I'm happy to leave mine original.

    • @ThatGermanFella
      @ThatGermanFella  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      yeah if you have the panniers this is not for you ... =)

    I'm using the MG luggage, so looking the other way. With the panniers mounted, the original rear end looks fine and keeps the road muck off the back of the bike. This is always the problem with tail tidies. Indeed, it's a problem with modern bikes generally. My F900XR covered the back of the bike with road muck as standard, so I fitted an aftermarket mudguard to stop it (similar to those found on the GS models as standard).

      Agreed, this is my sunny days, looks cool solution ... ; ), now that I know how the darn thing is put together in the back, I can reverse it if I have to. I orginal wanted to take out the complete luggage system but MG integrated it in a way that it is A structual and B, holds the mounting points for the rear trim panels. I'd like to have a word with the engineer who thought that was a good idea ... lol

      Hi, I have the F900XR, thinking of going with the V100. There are some quality issues (fork paint is one) and I could do without the chain! On the plus side, I love the F900XR TFT and I think the handlebar switches / controls are better. Performance wise the V100 is heavier so wondering if that is noticeable in every day use. I had a very short ride on the V100, still not sure where I am! Grateful for your thoughts if you have the time. Thanks.

    • @markellott5620
      @markellott5620 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @TheNitonman quality wise, the V100 is better. I only really notice the weight when manually handling it.
      The Guzzi luggage is good, but not quite up to BMW standards.
      I'm fine with the TFT on both bikes. Also, the Piaggio switch is just as convenient as the scroll wheel once you get used to it.
      The V100 is far superior for carrying a passenger. I found that the seat on the XR was too small for two up riding and the bike was too top heavy. The Guzzi takes it in its stride.

      @@markellott5620 Great thanks for that, much appreciated. Anything that you miss from the F900XR or are you now a contented V100 owner?!

      @@TheNitonman This is a good one, especially since I just gotten the M 1000 R. 100 % agree that the TFT and switches arre one of the best in the industry. The BMW is made in Berlin, Germany but with parts from China, including the engine, that suprised me a bit but then again you have a 3 yr warranty. As far as weight goes, it is lighter but as Mark pointed out, once you get going the V100 feels very nimble. The big question for me would be your use case scenario. I use the V100 mostly as a roadster with occasional touring and for that I want character and excitement and the Guzzi has plenty of it in many ways that the BMW will proably never come close to. If it is "just" a toy to enjoy the ride, I would urge to take a extended ride on the Guzzi and see if it speaks to you. If it's a "daily" I would stick with the BMW but for pure enjoyment I rather ride the Guzzi. Both will have things go wrong, but that is what warranty is for as long as you are not too far from a dealer for either brand. Hope this helped a little, I am happy to discuss it more in detail, just let me know.

    If that is reversible then I might do this, I'm not planning a Moto trip this year. 😊

    • @ThatGermanFella
      @ThatGermanFella  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      You will have to cut the mud guard underneath, so you have to replace that part when reversing. I also had to drill 1 hole each side for the turn signals but it would not affect the function of the luggage system if reversed. The plate holder light under the tail light is held in place by wire tension and a small piece of vlecro.

    Why did you put the stock muffler/end can back on ?

    • @ThatGermanFella
      @ThatGermanFella  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Original the only tune provided by UpMap for the big bore header / cat delete was with the stock muffler, hence I reverted back. After talking to AF1 Racing, any tune with a aftermarket slip on should be fine so I will proably try that here soon. For now the bike runs and feels amazing with the tune from GCorse and I am loving it even with the stock muffler, albeit a bit quiet for me but ridability is amazing.

      Hi, the sound in this video is with the original muffler? If yes, it would be loud enough for Austria 😅
      And second question, if you imstall the big bore pipes wirh the original muffler, is it needed to put on a new software on the bike, or is it also fine with the stock engine software?
      Thanks, Marco

      @@Marco-wi2xp Hello Marco, the sound in this video is the big bore header and Mistral, no db killer slip on combo. I have a comparison video between stock and the slip on. You can choose to keep the stock muffler with the header or run a slip on of your choice. A software upgrade is not needed but recommended. I used the UPMap solution to update my ECU for correct fueling. Hope this helps.

    • @ThatGermanFella
      @ThatGermanFella  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@nilslofthagen686 I personal would have liked it even more flat on the bottom but that would have required some serious irreversable cutting of the luggage system. To me this is as good as it gets within reason. My main goal was to not have something stick out past the tail lights. This bike will always be more roadster than serious tourer for me, I would not have done it if it were the other way around.

    • @nilslofthagen686
      @nilslofthagen686 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@ThatGermanFella Yes, I see what you mean with the reasoning there; it's a bit tricky with the luggage system being part of it. I usually do this kind of thing myself to most of my bikes too, altho I think with the V100 I'd strangely be happy with the standard look. I am looking to buy one of these in 2025, prob the s model, and have been enjoying your channel in the meantime. Keep it up!

      @@nilslofthagen686 Word! , I would advise the S as well, the Semi-active suspension is well worth the price of admission, I just had to have the Navale and sadly it did not come with all the good stuff. Looking back, and knowing that the panels can be easly swapped, I should have gotten the S and then just swapped the Navale panels ... lol, first world problems ... =)

    great video, i modified the tail as well not quite as agressive as inspired by your first version and used motorcycle license plate bracket instead of drilling holes in plate. I ordered the agostini headers/cat delete and SC1 slip on, appears you are first one know of to receive upmap and load successfully-love to see video on how did this and results. See big difference than without map? Best J

    • @ThatGermanFella
      @ThatGermanFella  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yes I am the first one / guinea pig indeed according to AF1 racing ... lol. I will make a video in a bit showing the process. Overall, everything went very smooth with no drama. I will admit I was a bit worried. Bike ran like a champ afterward with great throttle response and only muted decel pops that are also present in Stock form with factory tune, catalytic converter and stock muffler. If you look in my community tab, I did a post a picture from GCorse with the actual gains based on their dyno results. Down the road I will replace the Stock muffler with a SC-Project one and run the UP Map tune for that setup. For now I am very happy how everything turned out and will run it for a bit and just enjoy it. Overall, biggest difference is the throttle response, does not feel choked up anymore. If you run the Header/Cat Delete/ SC Project combo with the UP Map tune, let me know how you like it ... =)
