I like to watch videos of house tours that are for sale in Nicaragua. It's really a hobby since I'm not in a position to buy anything anyway. But when I'm watching, I often wonder... if Scott viewed this, how much would he say its over priced? Lol
Scott, I am Nicaraguan- American and I would like to visit Nicaragua soon. My question y tu o you is, I have my bank in the state of Vermont. Can I have access to my money once that I am in Nicaragua or not? Please help me with this issue.
Of course, you just use your bank account like normal by pulling money from the ATM. It's very simple. Just like being in another state. As long as your bank participates in the ATM networks.
After watching Scott Moore and obtaining other information about Xela, Guatemala, it seems to have a lot going for it - weather, cost of living similar to Nicaragua (?), relatively clean, less poverty. Do you know of any downsides relative to Nicaragua?
Well crime is the big one, it's not even close there. But how much it would affect you as a tourist or expat, it's not that much. Guatemala is my second choice location (but Guate, not Xela) after Nicaragua so I'm definitely pro-Guatemala. Poverty to me is not a negative but a positive (you know what I mean, I hope) - meaning that living in Nicaragua means that my contribution means more. It's a small country with a tiny economy that desperately needs the help. For me personal benefit, that means everything is cheaper. From an economic standpoint, it means every dollar that I spend makes a bigger difference. It makes a difference in Guatemala too, but a MUCH smaller one. Nicaragua is cheaper than Guatemala, but it's all pretty close. But much safer and your presence can have a much more important impact are big reasons for Nicaragua. Guatemala has lots of good stuff too. Better airport, access to big cities, more shopping and resources.
Xela is a smaller city, a lot like what we have many of in Nicaragua. So other than a little cooler temps, you aren't getting something unique. Guate is the biggest city in Central America. The metro area has as many people as all of Nicaragua! It's enormous. Everything you could want in a single city, with a major airport too, and easy access to a couple next door cities. It's the central hub of Central America and the capital of the Mayan World. Ultra modern and urban, but still Central America.

Death threats over starting an MLS seems a bit extreme. 😳
Yeah, the American / Canadian contingency can get pretty scary.

Have you watched my 2022 series on Guatemala? I did several episodes there.
Thank you! I will go through your series.
