I taught Tube theory in the 1950's and 60's. It was replaced with transistor theory. I felt stopping tube theory robbed the students of a better understanding of how things worked.
you are correct in your thinking but "understanding of how things worked" is unnecessary in modern school factories where robot slave drones are programmed to toil in the aristocrats' factory world , infact soon ALL THINKING will be outlawed
My electronics teacher did his best to take us through the history of electric components by building different things, first using hardwire control circuits, then some TTL, and eventually to modern logic controllers. But he never mentioned tubes..
In Britain Dr. Beeching got rid of steam trains in favour of diesel just as steam turbines where coming in that where powered by oil or coal dust and they where super efficient and clean, way more than diesel. Ditto with valves, they where shelved just as things where starting to get seriously interesting.
yes and also not telling people of Nikolai Tesla is also a crime ..guess they dont want people to understand if they did they'd make there own energy .....
hobbyists still use them today aside from the audio industry because they have such robustness in particular usage. China and Russia probably have some amazing tubes in production today.
Informative video and the longer version. We were never taught anything about dielectric fields at all. Only found out about it from watching Eric Dollards videos.
They don't teach this because knowledge is freedom and freedom means we don't need to pay for power. Physicists today are ignorant because of their teachers and they have been since early in the last century. Garbage IN = garbage OUT. Read the works of Keely, Tesla, Steinmetz, Wheatstone, and Hevyside from the 1800's. Those were the geniuses. And remember this equation.... Pi over 2 times the velocity of light. That is how fast longitudinal magneto dielectric waves travel. Yes, faster than light.
Yes true they keep us in ignorance so we can be milked like cows of money for the elite. Walter Russell is pretty good reading to. Unfortunately we are lead to believe theories that can't be proved, are what they prefer to teach. The education system is not geared for truth, if it was the great inventors works would be widely known.
Could you point out a few specific good reads for me? I've always felt like something was missing from the mainstream quantum mechanics, and there never seems to be anything new or even contradicting.
Glenn Hubbard I would start with Eric Dollard www.conspiracy.co/forums/main-wall/12266-metrical-dimensional-relations-aether-e-p-dollard-print.html Then read the writings of Charles Proteus Steinmetz, James Maxwell, and Oliver Heaviside.
Great video. Thank you for posting.. I love technological history. Young people today think they are so smart because they can use all the latest technology. But when something breaks they have no idea what to do. So they pay someone $200 to replace a fuse. The US has been dumbed down by laziness and a lowering of the bar to the lowest common denominator. It's no wonder that all the high tech jobs are going overseas.
Awesome! I learned tube theory at DeVry Tech in the late seventies. My instructor Mr Mazzarelo would present in depth principles and then state that the main point of the lecture should be “blatantly obvious to the most casual observer” i.e. negative on the cathode is like positive on the grid
Most of this information is taught but seems like old tech so people don't pay close attention. Well that may change. Vacuum tubes are almost completely immune to radiation so have been reinvented for space based applications. A prototype device is in testing that is manufactured using common, perhaps modified semiconductor equipment and techniques. What the video said about high frequencies is correct. The new vacuum devices being developed are smaller than old school transistors and capable of operating up to 460ghz. Imagine your desktop PC operating at 460ghz!
I remember way back in the 1950s that they are experimenting and making ceramic and glass and glass ceramic semiconductors, diodes, conductors, insulators, resistors, capacitors, inductors, wires, etc. And they developed new revolutionary manufacturing and handling techniques and new heat treatment techniques. Because the main aim is to combine them with the new industrial strenght-militarily hardened vacuum tubes designed and built and manufactured to last as long as they exists. AND THEY STILL HAVE THOSE SCIENTIFIC R&D LABORATORIES AND FACTORIES but hidden from the public and making the impression that they are all for high-tech microelectronics when in fact, they have hidden behind close doors are the OLD SCHOOL VACUUM TUBES AND 1ST GENERATION TRANSISTORS that they are silently using all these time even in this year 2019! My country is also doing the same thing also.
The darn transistors took over the switching jobs in electronics, and all hieroglyphic teachings of the cathode tube were destroyed or forgotten..shit the video at 2;30 even suggests an ancient workings of a solar photovoltaic module concept of electric generation..amazing
Tubes are making a comeback in audio. I have seen a pre- amp that operates a tube at only 24 Volts. That 24 Volts does not leave room for much Voltage gain but we're talking millivolts to start with.Granted I see little need to use a tube for rectifying the hi voltage. But it is kind fun when you understand the miracle . Hot ions, voltage potentials and cascading electrons. The solid state miracle is harder to grasp. Doped xtals, p+n regions, positrons that don't exist and moving holes. It all so intangible. Plus integrated circuits took all the fun out of electronics. Look what they did to Radio Shack and Lafayette Electronics. It is good to see a resurgence of electronics hobbyists. Hooray JameCo.
I agree with you on the semiconductor mystery trip. All the "scientific" explanations are fantasy as no electrons, positrons or holes exist in the crystal structures. It's also getting in the way of the development of new tech as the same descriptions fall short when it comes to actual design with the smaller geometries and higher speeds. The pulsed waves induce fields that interact with the semiconductors and generate power spikes that the design programs can't predict. If they had a proper theory, semiconductors would be self powered by now. All this drives the costs up and design cycles out. No place for the hobbiest. The latest fabs are over a billion dollars.
Very cool, May could be that self powered gig is why simple semiconductor theory remains deliberately elusive. You got me wondering what is a "fab"(rication?) and what the billion bucks can get?
+Coil Smoke Fab is short for fabrication facility. The precision and processing is very demanding. Mucho dinero. Each improvement today in resolution requires a whole new approach. Ground up design and construction. With complete new proving cycles etc.
You are a knight bruz, can you teach me some electronics? I hate reading main stream stuff if theres a chance to be led astray in my understanding of simple electronics :(
Well they did teach me this stuff in electronics at Devry Tech! Devry is guy that invented the triode tube (so things could be amplified! I made a living with this information for over 40 years! I have several radios that use the "first radio tube" - "01" my nicest one was an Atwater Kent about 1918! - It is a"later model", as it uses "01A" tubes - Originally they thought they would possibly come up with maybe 100 variations,- thus they just numbered from 1-100 as each new variety was invented! Then came variations (improvements) so then they listed "modifications" with alphabet letters! Thus my "01A" was first variation (or improvement) from original! That radio still works today, and still has the original tubes as far as I can tell yet, (have only had since 1948)! No it is not as good as a modern radio, but can you expect that from a radio almost 100 years old? -- It uses a "Goose neck speaker (looks like speaker on "old Victrola record player"- has a magnetic earphone type audio reproduction device- -- Note the Victrola had no electronics at all- it ran by amplifying vibrations through the "trumpet looking horn"! Go ahead and ridicule,- but these were repairable! If your transistor radio blows something out,- lets see you fix it in half an hour or so (can you change a transistor that fast-- if you can find right one? A tube can be located and replaced in minutes! How about you with a transistor radio - or TV? No I don't think we were "dumb shits"! ---- But then again we produced the last 3 to 4 generations of people, - (And some turned out like you) !
Very good question!!!!!!! I love it!!!!! Thanks for the post!!!! Another good question is why did my old High School drop their electronic courses?????? ;)
It was known in Tesla's time and isn't taught for a very specific reason. It doesn't work in the interest of the large corporations, anymore today than it did 100 years ago.
This information is available. It has been superseded by far superior performing device. I don't think it's got anything to do with free energy. The "generator" is an oscillator, that can produce radio frequency wave, also know as Tesla waves, that can transmit energy wirelessly. Think of a mobile phone. Would be kind of awkward trying to do that with valve technology. And you get these "free energy" devices that make LED's blink when the mobile phone transmit. We are surrounded by electro magnetic pollution, and you can tap into these "free" resources. But I doubt that you will be able to power your household with it. Maybe blink some LED's. There are free energy sources available like geothermal, gravity, tidal motion, sun, etc. Digging in the past is not what is needed, become the same geniuses as those old timers. Use your noodle, think outside the box, make something new. How long did it take people to figure out gravity exist? It was there all along. Newton just developed it in a useful way. So can you.
They do teach this. I learned this in electronics classes as well as my own reading. I started electronics by reading the ARRL Handbook(1952) I found in my Dad's stuff. It covered all this and more. The information is still available. Not sure how electronics classes are run today, but they should include all the basics.
Once you know your logic, you don't need anything else, whatever hardware implementation is straight forward. You can even make an ALU out or single relays... I show how you form logic in the third video I have uploaded in my channel, it is all down to putting switches in parallel or one after the other...
Obsolete? Tubes is still used in HIgh End Hifi for a reason. If there still were real education, they properly still being used. Simply just the amazing areas it can be used in. Well said HHH100 .I SO AGREE. I find we work in circles . Alittle bit of knowledge then go back to the roots of the discovery and start again with new technologies to analyse and make new theories . Sometimes they are conclusive in the first place but i find it best to recreate to prove them foryourself. Dont just watch and memorise .. experiment and truly learn
Why is this not taught? The answer is one word - Transistors! Because the transistor is able to be made at the near-molecular scale we no longer require the vacuum tube for the amplification of radio or production of electronic oscillations. The vacuum tube is also bulky, requiring a great deal more of power than the transistor, and is more expensive to produce than the transistor. However. The vacuum tube works on different principles than the transistor but does the same thing. It is like comparing a piezoelectric generator to a Peltier module as a generator, to a solar cell, to a rotating magnetic field through a copper coil. All three generate power but they all do so in a different manner. "There is more than one way to skin a cat."
bcdhifi I have not had the privilege of seeing the guts of an actual transmitter and so I would not be privy to that information. However I would expect vacuum tubes to still be employed by such devices due to the amount of power these little guys can handle. It does make sense that we would not employ tubes in our consumer electronics, due to the "insignificant" power consumption of modern electronic devices. By insignificant I mean a device that has a max rating of less than 1-2KW.
I've switched a few years ago to tube amplification and the clarity and fullness of the sound is like comparing black and white to full living color. And it doesn't take much power to get a room full of audio, I run the el84 final at maybe 3~5 watts to do the job. A nice 60's german design is very inexpensive.
It would be taught in some physics and electronics courses, but only briefly as new technology has replaced the tubes and solid state photo devices have replaced the cold cathode photo electric cells like the old 930 tubes.
... I miss the time, where education meant learning how , everything, worked. Understanding, better, how the world works. Now, as Bob Saturday said... Schools are just factories that produce robot slave drones with minimal information to do the jobs their overlods command them to do. Thinking is just illegal now. Friends and family scoff at you "Huh? What? Why would I need to know that! Lol Nerd!" .... sigh...
I guess because they do teach about FETs (= field effect transistors), which behave almost, if not completely the same as triode vacuum tubes, except FETs are much more efficient, because they put off allot less heat, they're much smaller & I'm pretty sure faster. There are loads of books about vacuum tubes, that I'm sure you can find on the internet (and at some websites, download for free), at most libraries, at HAM fests, which are basically short wave radio operator yard sales/gatherings, & some regular yard sales. CRTs (= cathode ray tubes, which are old TV picture tubes) are just cathode anode (=diode) vacuum tubes with coils (that can accelerate the electrons a little) to bend the beam of electrons vertically & horizontally so that it hits all of the chemical coating on the inside of the tubes face (= the screen) to make it glow. Most regular vacuum tubes have at least one grid (which is a piece of fine metal screen) to accelerate/increase, or slow down/decrease the beam/number of electrons that go from the cathode to the anode.
Well, this depends on the market. Almost ALL electronic devices use sold state semiconductor no more vacuum tubes. Vacuum tubes are less efficient, expensive, bulky compare to solid state semiconductor. What he explained in the vacuum tube will get them all in semiconductor device. Such as Transistors, Diode, Photovoltaic..etc. etc..etc...
Well, by the time I went to college for Electronics, the transistor had already made the vacuum tube practically obsolete. That's why they don't really teach you about this anymore. If you understand Electronic theory, you don't even need to experiment with them to know what they do. This is ancient technology, in the general scheme of Electronics. The only thing I have that uses tubes these days is my guitar amplifier, and that's only because I prefer the warm tone. Tubes are not small enough to use in our compact equipment these days. Everything got smaller, after the transistor. It's still probably the largest advancement in Electronics I know of.
Restate the question " why have Electronic classes been taken out of the public school curriculum???? " possible answere, electronic courses teaches quantum mechanics which will feather onto sub quantum mechanics, which means more engineers , which means free energy..............
Well yes electronics is true physics rather than theory, but instead of this being taught we have so called theory taught in schools. The true genius of last century was Tesla not Einstein.
Tube theory must be revived and enhanced even further intensively and extensively in order to give all students a better 3 dimensional understanding on how and WHY THINGS WORK THAT WAY! Everything boils down to the BASICS of our present day technological life that has become instinctively part of our life like breathing BUT WE MUST ALSO BE AWARE WHY WE ARE BREATHING AND SUCH IGNORANCE CAN BE FATAL ANYTIME NOW, IF NOT LATER!
@@Alwaysbusy300 Tesla's method was using reactive power in a very particular way, his radiant energy receiver patents and capacitors are an important key to his method.
Most people, perhaps 95% or more, don't care one whit how something works, why it works, etc. They simply do not give a damn. They will brag to you telling you how they did something, but it's just plugging cord A into socket A and cord b into socket b.
Teaching is optional, researching by oneself online has superseded the teacher/student model. All one has to do is look at the Humanities dept. of any University and read what Steven Crowder is about.
Why do they not teach this ? It is an electric universe.. Why are we taught about gravity and black holes and dark matter.. th-cam.com/video/cdYYwUtCStY/w-d-xo.html
+derekvolt put this piece of crap, named tubes into rubbish bin and buy DIODEs, MOSFETs, IGBTs, LEDs and OPTOTRANSISTORs. EFFICIENCY and LIFETIME is two main benefits of semiconductors.
They do teach this in Baltimore County Schools. Electronics was offered in 11th, 12th grade. Tubes are making a comeback in audio. I have seen a pre- amp that operates a tube at only 24 Volts.
Tubes operate on voltage not that much current. I wonce had a 5 tube portable radio that took a 45 volt battery and lasted only 45 minutes lol then you had to change it. But now my transistor radio lasts 55 hours on a 3.7volt li ion battery that you can recharge thousands of times. We still use tubes in microwave ovens and other things and you can still by the 1955 beast today on line.lol Their still in use. Pick up a radio engineer's handbook, it will give you all the information you need on theory and practical application.
it is not commonly taught because if everyone knows how to do it there is no way to charge exorbitant prices for the results. if only a few know then they control the value of it.
Dig this old time tube technology . Remember over 90% of all electric guitar you hear goes threw a tube amp. Even digital tube amp sim's start with real tube amp.
They don't teach it because low power tubes are obsolete. The only tubes still used are microwave amplifiers & generators. You have one in your kitchen. Satellites and radar use them.
James Van Damme Disclaimer: I spent 41 years as an engineer at the Air Force Research Laboratory, some of it designing, building, and developing high power tube based radar transmitters. Search DTIC or ReasearchGate for my report on how to build a transmitter, "Wideband S Band Transmitter", RADC-TR-89-265.
Yes Morays' system is another invention that slipped under the radar of mainstream. Unfortunately mainstream is lead to believe that energy cannot be extracted from space time and inventions like his are bs. But there is enough evidence to show suppression of energy devices an easy example is LENR. Also known as Cold Fusion, anyone with any sort of intelligence can work out this world changing and world saving tech is real and is being actively suppressed.
Yes Henry Moray is legendary, Tesla was the king, his Colarado springs experiments measuring the earths stationary waves and propagation of wireless energy transferal, have some interesting books of his, will do a book reviews and post (have 7 books about him)
ppl don't rely on what they teach you in schools cause if you believe that what's you learn in school is all there is then you set a limit for your self ignore the rules and the laws and try to break them
Yes well for the general individual who hasn't dewlved into solid state this is a revalation (well it is to me).I think it is a shame the magnifying transmitter is one invention that has had such a great impact on our world but is so little spoken about it. The vacum tube is another invention that is little spoken of, so I found this and posted. Rhetorical question maybe, enjoy.
Details we can skip over to dumb out for the anti Nikola Tesla free energy CIA like the LC tank circuit that makes the oscillation tuner invented by Tesla who would not give his thanks to this.
Some of the animation in the video doesn't fit in. The waveforms shown etc. Sorry but I am having a feeling that this video was made recently using video software to make it look like very old one.
but never the less.....radiant energy and concepts like that feel 100% true. Take for example simple salt batteries that can easily light LED lights for month yet we are not going down that road. Still relying on acid batteries which are toxic in nature.
strasng how they take 10 volts and amplify it t0 100000 volts isn't it using less energy to make more energy see laws of conservation or what not work good for mechanical to electric conversion but when it comes to solid state electric it has no basis from what im seeing. my stun gun does not have a 1 million volt battery but yet it sends a spark so great .... we walk in a sea of flowing current and we can capture it also just like a water mill wheel in a river. the electric co make 16.5k of electric mechanically then with a solid state system it increases it many many times so it can go farther then when it gets so far the do it again it has lost much but yet theyre amplify it again and again so if you pull 3 volts from the radiant energy with tesla collector cant we also amplify this with his amp system he designed we have a big problem this will end the energy companies gas co with hho from water it is here for many years but it is being held back ..
Why do they not teach this? Simply because this technology, although probably miraculous at the time, is now completely obsolete and outdated. Replaced by much more useful, efficient and durable hard to destroy thing called semiconductor. Thumb down from me.
I taught Tube theory in the 1950's and 60's. It was replaced with transistor theory. I felt stopping tube theory robbed the students of a better understanding of how things worked.

I've switched a few years ago to tube amplification and the clarity and fullness of the sound is like comparing black and white to full living color. And it doesn't take much power to get a room full of audio, I run the el84 final at maybe 3~5 watts to do the job. A nice 60's german design is very inexpensive.
well all the things you listen to are recorded and mastered on a semiconducter technology
Not true
It would be taught in some physics and electronics courses, but only briefly as new technology has replaced the tubes and solid state photo devices have replaced the cold cathode photo electric cells like the old 930 tubes.
What if you didn't a linear loop amplifier? That is to connect output to diode to input grid. Resonance.
" Happy is the individual who understands the cause of things "
Lol Nerd!" .... sigh...
What is number 6 that you can do with a tube?
What is this video called can you upload the rest of it
I you thought attentions spans were bad 10 years ago as of May 2023, God help us!!! ;D
All sorts of overunity going on there
"Why do they not teach this?" Because we don't use vacuum tubes anymore?
" Human Kind desires a need to know " Aristotle. .....
somewhere here on the net, part of a free energy site was a russian site I think.
Is the efficiency of this effect lower than that of conventional solar cells?
The reason they don't teach that stuff is that it is obsolete. I learned all that basic vacuum tube stuff in eighth grade general science in 1950.
this is great where did you find it?
Where does this video come from?
They taught me that in 1973.
Tube theory must be revived and enhanced even further intensively and extensively in order to give all students a better 3 dimensional understanding on how and WHY THINGS WORK THAT WAY! Everything boils down to the BASICS of our present day technological life that has become instinctively part of our life like breathing BUT WE MUST ALSO BE AWARE WHY WE ARE BREATHING AND SUCH IGNORANCE CAN BE FATAL ANYTIME NOW, IF NOT LATER!
can this thing generate electricity with an sun reactive material as anode (very end of video)
you could 'amplify' the volume...
Nikola Tesla use 12 vacum tube to powered his electric car.
How the tube produces energy and I didn't know tesla was driven car in 1900s
@@Alwaysbusy300 Tesla's method was using reactive power in a very particular way, his radiant energy receiver patents and capacitors are an important key to his method.
Most people, perhaps 95% or more, don't care one whit how something works, why it works, etc.
They simply do not give a damn. They will brag to you telling you how they did something, but it's just plugging cord A into socket A and cord b into socket b.
is that a 6L6 or KT88?
What is the name of the original video?
Check my video electronics pt2 here for full version
th-cam.com/video/dU5bw1SNaPE/w-d-xo.html
This was from a Russian site
Teaching is optional, researching by oneself online has superseded the teacher/student model. All one has to do is look at the Humanities dept. of any University and read what Steven Crowder is about.
Why do they not teach this ?
It is an electric universe..
Why are we taught about gravity and black holes and dark matter..
th-cam.com/video/cdYYwUtCStY/w-d-xo.html
derekvolt Shush.... DAMN It! You're going to brake our gig :/
55rebels haha
+derekvolt put this piece of crap, named tubes into rubbish bin and buy DIODEs, MOSFETs, IGBTs, LEDs and OPTOTRANSISTORs. EFFICIENCY and LIFETIME is two main benefits of semiconductors.
Can't we find those tubes on old televisions?
They do teach this in Baltimore County Schools. Electronics was offered in 11th, 12th grade. Tubes are making a comeback in audio. I have seen a pre- amp that operates a tube at only 24 Volts.
because no one makes vacuum tubes any more this is obsolete information.
But the info is still out there, hunt it down and start experimenting.
--Rick
They are being reproduced in Russia and China but cost quite a bit, especially if you want matched pairs. They are far from obsolete.
We still use tubes in microwave ovens and other things and you can still by the 1955 beast today on line.lol
Their still in use.
This information has been around. In fact, any good Ham Radio group that conducts theory classes will teach this.
Have you seen any COP values pulsing on hydrogen in the area going from glow-mode to arcmode?
its a great video. jeff quitney videos have all types of real science from 50 yrs ago. its sweet. i guessin you saw that channel ?
is that bulb a transistor?
If that is a vacuum tube it very well could be, not too sure. Anybody ?
a vacuum tube which has connections on its sides?
A grid in the middle
Yes Morays' system is another invention that slipped under the radar of mainstream. Unfortunately mainstream is lead to believe that energy cannot be extracted from space time and inventions like his are bs. But there is enough evidence to show suppression of energy devices an easy example is LENR. Also known as Cold Fusion, anyone with any sort of intelligence can work out this world changing and world saving tech is real and is being actively suppressed.
Yes Henry Moray is legendary, Tesla was the king, his Colarado springs experiments measuring the earths stationary waves and propagation of wireless energy transferal, have some interesting books of his, will do a book reviews and post (have 7 books about him)
Same technology as the sun powered yard lights at Lowes for $3.49
ppl don't rely on what they teach you in schools cause if you believe that what's you learn in school is all there is then you set a limit for your self ignore the rules and the laws and try to break them
That's what almost every one who is smart enough do
Every Electronics Technician in the Navy is taught this.
because it needs to be grounded?
Yes well for the general individual who hasn't dewlved into solid state this is a revalation (well it is to me).I think it is a shame the magnifying transmitter is one invention that has had such a great impact on our world but is so little spoken about it. The vacum tube is another invention that is little spoken of, so I found this and posted. Rhetorical question maybe, enjoy.
Details we can skip over to dumb out for the anti Nikola Tesla free energy CIA like the LC tank circuit that makes the oscillation tuner invented by Tesla who would not give his thanks to this.
They don't teach it, because they were replaced with semiconductors.
Still relying on acid batteries which are toxic in nature.
yes but it's a beautiful thing
Holy shit. This video is sweet.
love it
wow just WOW !!!!
shazizz, have a look at this film, it's from Westinghouse /watch?v=2eDb8ojvreo
strasng how they take 10 volts and amplify it t0 100000 volts isn't it using less energy to make more energy see laws of conservation or what not work good for mechanical to electric conversion but when it comes to solid state electric it has no basis from what im seeing. my stun gun does not have a 1 million volt battery but yet it sends a spark so great ....
we walk in a sea of flowing current and we can capture it also just like a water mill wheel in a river. the electric co make 16.5k of electric mechanically then with a solid state system it increases it many many times so it can go farther then when it gets so far the do it again it has lost much but yet theyre amplify it again and again so if you pull 3 volts from the radiant energy with tesla collector cant we also amplify this with his amp system he designed we have a big problem this will end the energy companies
gas co with hho from water it is here for many years but it is being held back ..
Basic electronics man
They do teach it. It's called electrical engineering.
this is primitive technology
I was learned this in college... O_o
And this is useless old shit! :D
"I was learned this in college"
ok sounds like they didn't teach you English properly.
pff... nobody cares :p
lol
***** Maybe his college wasn't in an English-speaking country.
And you is useless old shit too !
Can't hear s***
they are teaching this. go to school. or do some research
Why do they not teach this? Simply because this technology, although probably miraculous at the time, is now completely obsolete and outdated. Replaced by much more useful, efficient and durable hard to destroy thing called semiconductor. Thumb down from me.
Ha ha ha "HARD TO DESTROY" HAHAHAHA
Boy.
