i have it i like the build quality and design but im pretty sure it gets hotter than other cards at stock fan speeds
this was happend on r9 series too so GIGABYTE isnt worth for AMD
One thing I'd tell you guys is this card's limit is 105w and it's PCIe power and 8 pin combined can give it upto 225w, and trust me, this GPU does not have power limits, you can increase it's power limits to over it being able to use 150w or more, but considering it's board's limit 105w, please don't. Your VRM might burst and now it's an 8 y/o GPU, you won't be able to get it repaired anymore

This bad boy is the biggest card I can fit in my case before having to make any mods, which I wont be doing to my beautiful little "sleeper" PC, I mean its the only card I can fit in before having to buy another case, go through the troubles of another PSU, and have to deal with the fans facing the bottom.. But wait till' you see this bad boy scream, I can hear it through my noise isolating headset! Seriously though, I can get the fans going manual at 3000 RPM! And shes screaming!

Thanks for the video. Was thinking about getting this especially with Gigabytes $30 mail in rebate but now I know why they're desperate to get rid of them. 80C under load is unacceptable for this card.
The higher temps are just because from gigabyte decided to make the card more quit (you see 76C during gaming with 40% fan speed). So if you want lower temps just make custom fan curve.
I actually find their rx 470 nice surprise after the bad cooling of rx480.
But I still cant recommend gigabyte's amd cards because they cheaped on vrm-s with rx480, so my guess is they did the same with rx470.
Sacrificing cooling performance for being quiet is really no excuse. The MSI RX 470 is nearly silent while maintaining 68-72C under load.
Few degrees C are not big deal, especially when the temps are around 70C. I still prefer Sapphire and MSI for amd chips tho

i did it on NITRO Model and it hits 68c under load
It gets to 80c because by design the fan curve doesn't get aggressive until it hits 80c. You can adjust it to get lower temps. This is the exact same cooler the RX 480 has. On the 480 it is completely unacceptable, but on the 470 it is quite a decent cooler, specially for the price you can get one of these.
I have a problem with that card it has very low power limit (under 80W) and I don't have enough fps. What should I do?

hi i dont know choice, please helpe me: GIGABYTE GV-RX470G1 GAMING-4GD or ASUS DUAL GTX1060 3G or GIGABYTE GeForce GTX 1050 Tí G1 Gaming 4G,,,,,,,,,,,,, I prefer rx 470 because gtx 1060 has only 3gb, i know it has little lower performance compare to gtx 1060 3gb,, but will by enough 3b vram for some years ??? and 1050 ti has best price, little consumption, but not so good performance like 470 and 1060.. For me is playing on resolution FullHD enough.. Thank you for answer and sorry for my english :)
do you really want RX470 Or 480 Just avoid GIGABYTE then go for SAPPHIRE Powercolor XFX MSI
GIGABYTE isnt do well on AMD Card
but NVIDIA with GIGABYTE should fine they doesnt have this heat problem
RAY M so after some time i bought msi rx470 has good performance, overcloking, consumption, temperatures and is still, i was thinking about sapphire too, but due to better consumption and temperatures i decided for msi 470 4gb

RAY M i bought for 224e. sapphire was for 220e. By playing gta5 on max temperatuters under 60 so fans are working only simetimes and consumption max 110w yet. Pc is intel core i5 3570k. I am glad.
Cyber punk 2077 will run in this card?
At 1080p and low settings maybe
Cp2077 on this GPU runs at 35-43FPS at 1080P medium settings.

even NITRO run could be hotter or louder but it capping GPU Clock to 1260ghz all the time

What about an RX 480? I'm thinking of upgrading to 1440p, freesync and I figure this combo is good for getting as close to 60fps, 1440p as possible; despite the slightly underpowered GPU. Any good RX480s anyone can recommend?

Tanvir Khan The MSI RX 470 stays around 66-70C under load. If you watched this video you would know that the Gigabyte 470 was at 80C. So yeah, it's actually much worse.
