I have this condition. Post Hypoxic Action Myoclonus from cardiac arrest (20+ minutes) caused by spinal anesthesia. I was only in for a broken femur at 51 yrs old. So glad you are studying this.

Hi...my son has been in a coma due to cardiac arrest. He had been without oxygen for over half hour before he was found. He’s been in a coma due to this for two weeks...they said he is a vegetable. I’ve been researching to see if 2 weeks is too short of time to shut off life support...someone help me please! 🥺😭💔

@@anewtattoobynancy1 I was in a coma for 10 days and they had no clue if I would make it. I found out recently I was in cardiac arrest for 20 minutes and it took them two minutes to resuscitate me. They immediately put me into a hypothermic coma and sent me to a better hospital in Chicago. I woke up out of nowhere and was told people were playing me my favorite songs and talking to me. I of course don’t remember any of it, but they did encourage people to do things like that. I pray your son has the same outcome. I would say keep fighting for your son maybe bring in old friends or his favorite music. Not everybody’s the same and they said I was somewhat of a miracle. I hope the same for you!

Have you considered bringing him to a different hospital or a rehab hospital?

@@moirasul hi. Thank you for your speedy reply. He can only have one visitor. I’m in USA and he’s in Canada and trying to figure out all these COVID restrictions with flying and tests and quarantines. Because of COVID he has only had his girlfriend. They did let his children in on the weekend. He is being played his favorite songs and been playing him voicemails from people. Monday night they took down the sedatives again and he’s not having seizures anymore, he is breathing mostly on his own...which is the only good news we’ve had. I’m so scared to make any decision now. The organ donor people are flying there tomorrow and I want to cancel them now. I’m so lost and confused. 💔🥺😭
