The decision to not provide certified Google Play support falls 100% on Google, not Amazon. As with all fire tabs and as others have said ad nauseam, the entire Play store can be side loaded, in its entirety and is 100% safe. Sure, you may find that a few apps aren't available after installation of play services, but there are workarounds. I have always found solutions, which allowed me to get all of the apps I want on my fire tablets safely. App mirror and apk pure are 100% safe.
Truth is, I have found I use tablets for only a few things - reading, watching videos and sometimes typing for writing (Stories, emails, whatever). The Amazon App Store is good enough for all of that. I am sure there are games that are on the play store but not amazon's but I can't speak to that since I have never quite gotten into the habit of gaming on a tablet.
So Amazin improved thecpu massively but handicapped it by giving it only 4GB ram and not 6GB meaning it will be laggy. Will have to get another tablet when I upgrade from my Fire HD 10 as not waiting 2 years for a 6GB ram option.
Fire OS is definitely much more restrictive than Android. However, that doesn’t automatically make it bad. A lot of people, myself included, appreciate Fire OS for its simplicity, ease of use, and Amazon integration.
I 100% agree with the uselessness without Google Play store. No Evernote, Todoist, bublup, Google Keep, Dayone, and a dozen other apps. I would switch to Max 11 from ipad if Amazon would add play store. And the average end user is not interested in side-loading.
Thank you for this vid! Are we saying that we can't do any of the web versions of Gmail, Google Docs, Sheets? Or maybe we are saying we can't do Google Chrome?? Thanks in advance!
I'm sure there will be some way to set up Google play store. Every fire tablet I have done that. There are always videos that explain. Never had an issue.
I bought a Fire 10 Pro when it came out, I just loaded google framework and apps with the Fire Toolbox. I recently ordered the 11 Max and will do the same thing. I do work in IT but it's not hard to do for normies. If Amazon were to block this then I would stop buying their tablets. Without Fire Toolbox, I'm actually a harsher critic than this reviewer.
My biggest complaint about my Kindle Fire is the fact that you cannot use it without an Amazon account and your tied credit card. This forced me to give away my old Kindle Fire because I could not use use an insecure old Kindle Fire without giving the user the ability to buy things from Amazon.
I am surprised that review was about Max 11 tablet but most of the time we saw your face instead. You put up the tablet in front of the camera and put it down right away not paying attention that most of the time your camera wasn't focused and we couldn't see it properly. But nevertheless, we did see your face very good.
Amazon, google, Lenovo, Apple : Stop sticking cameras on the back of tablets. Nobody other than grandparents use them to take pictures that way. Front facing, sure - sometimes a video call is needed. But cameras on the back just make it so tablets can't lie flat.
I write most tablet applications myself. So some lack of applications isn't a problem for me. See, do you listen to dff/dsf files? Or even iso? No, because Google prohibits the music files in these formats. Stupid? Right. Amazon has no problem with these file formats. BTW I do not use Slack because it is most stupid app I ever seen. Corporates are pushing to use it, but not all.
I didn’t notice any issues when testing it, but I didn’t spend an extended amount of time writing notes or drawing. For what I did, it was fine. - Jason, video host
Sideloading is not "Amazon's solution" lmao its an Amazon Tablet. Amazon has no intention of facilitating the use of the google play store and google apps on their device. The fact that slack and other such apps are not available in the amazon store is something the buyer has to be aware of before purchasing the device and if that is a dealbreaker for them they'll have to accept that sideloading is necessary or purchase a different tablet. iPads and other android tablets exist. Fire tablets are primarily for entertainment/streaming and light productivity.
Im sorry but your complaints about trying to side loading kinda says more about you... It isnt that hard... And the focus on slack constantly seems odd as not everyone uses slack...

How fast do they run? Is the hardware able to handle most apps?
This is common knowledge for many. The point is, one shouldn't go through the headache of side-loading.

@@ponylovermadden4560 Takes just a few minutes.
Spot on when it comes to the Amazon app store. It lacks in an important area for myself.
I've had 11 kindles. Your loss

Good point! In the meantime if you need a new Fire tablet, I’d probably recommend the Fire 8 Plus or the Fire 10 Plus
Room for improvement for sure, but I still find it good enough. Smart Mediatek chip and good battery support as well with the device.
The screen looks terrific. I like Fire OS more than Android, it is less restrictive and completely compatible.

@@Keither754 I am a big fan of Fire OS.
@@kamertonaudiophileplayer847 it'snot bad but the launcher is now they blocked the good methods fro replacing it
Could improve in next Gen tablet I would like to see HDR amoled screen at least 90hz 📱
I sideload the google play store. 4 files, not too bad. My gripe is the inability to permanently load something other than the fire app launcher.
Can you annotate in the kindle books like the kindle scribe? Are their art apps that you can use the stylus to draw with?
I've side loaded Google Play Services on my Moms (73 year old), Fire Tablet and it works fine and she loves it! It's easy.

side loading is not that difficult ans you only need to sideload 4 or 5 apk's to install the play store
How does it compare with an iPad Gen 9 or the mini?
You know you can load the playstore right?
The Fire Max 11 is almost 50% faster than Amazon's next fastest tablet, with a powerful 2.2 GHz mediatek processor and 4 GB of RAM
Fire Toolbox can be used to address the Google Play issue. I successfully used it with my most recent Amazon tablet.
Thank you for this vid! Are we saying that we can't do any of the web versions of Gmail, Google Docs, Sheets? Or maybe we are saying we can't do Google Chrome?? Thanks in advance!
You cannot use anything Google--unless you side load the Google app store, then some apps may be laggy, crash, or not load at all.
I'm sure there will be some way to set up Google play store. Every fire tablet I have done that. There are always videos that explain. Never had an issue.
Same it takes about 10 min
Listen to the video and read the first comment-they explain how to side-load Google Play store. Some apps may be slow or not work at all though.
I’m late to the game and just ordered mine. I hope I like it.

Unable to minimize TH-cam videos, also only one usb-c plug, no audio jack...not sure I like it as much as the HD10.
Considering the Amazon Fire Max 11 for its powerful performance. Can anyone confirm if the Mediatek processor lives up to its reputation?
All I know is that I saw ETA prime running dolphin on it at full speed so it must be pretty capable

I'm surprised this video was released by zdnet and not some random guy recording from his basement 🤔
I wish we would have seen the tablet in this tablet review.
No Google Play Store - big pass on this thing !!

how is the palm rejection when writing

Can we work together? New product launch requires test video
I'm waiting for Amazon to install Android on their tablets.
You may experience hell freezing over 1st!!!
This IS an android based tablet-minus anything related to Google unless it's side-loaded.
Also wait for a well deserved wrath from nature someday 😅
I side loaded google playstore on every fire tablet i bought
Too bad there is no official TH-cam app for Fire Tablets.
I actually like TH-cam through the browser better than the app on my Fire HD 10.

a 15:37 review of a tablet with 10 seconds of the actual tablet featured in the video.
The SEO bot comments are strange.

I’m the first person watching this. 👍
Change the system to a linage os , problem solve
you need root and custom rom specifically designed for the tablet, which i belive does not exist yet
wow
