  • How to tie LINE TO LINE fishing knot - Double Uni | Gale Force Twins
    The double uni knot is our favorite go to fishing knot for tying line to line. What makes this knot so great is that it can be used to tie mono to fluoro, mono to braid, braid to fluoro or any combination of your line to your leader. We hope you enjoy this episode of Learning in Under 5!

    This is a great knot for leaders or weight lines but if I have to drag a knot through line guides or my reel I prefer the blood knot because it's less bulky and glides through and over guides much easier and is just as strong. A little harder to tie thou....love you guys videos. Keep up the good work!!!

    I’ll use the uni to uni to connect two lines when I’m in a hurry or when the boat is rocking but I find it at times to be too bulky to go through the smaller rod guides (such as on some slow pitch rods). I much prefer using a liner knot such as the FG or Crazy Alberto. Every now and then I’ll tie a Spider Hitch to double my main line and use either a Yucatán or Bristol knot to attach the leader.

    • @johninnz
      @johninnz 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      FG is a good knot to use in the situation you described and Uni onto your jig.

    Almanda this video is great than most out there. Because you're doing it on the desktop with a dark color background and you're keeping your hand far apart for us to see the lines better , guys don't drop on me but Almanda just does it better. For you 🌹 Almanda , stay safe and fish , #AFANALWAYS

    If you are using a 50lb braid, what size leader should be used to keep the braid from cutting through?

    • @GaleForceTwins
      @GaleForceTwins  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      We will tie 12lb braid to our 30lb leader for yellowtailing, don’t usually have a problem but sometimes it’ll cut through if you have your drag too tight or pull too hard. I would think with 50 lb braid you would be fine with 20lb+ on the leader

    Another great video, you guys rock! I’ve watched other people tie that knot but your explanation was by far the easiest to follow. Have you ever tried the f.g. knot? I find it to be thinner and easier on the eyelets and also smoother casting/dropping.

    Do you recommend tying off leaders to the main line, or could you leave a swivel or something like that to tie off to on the main line?

    • @GaleForceTwins
      @GaleForceTwins  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I prefer using a knot because it’s easier to get fish closer to the boat making it better for landing the fish. The only time I use a swivel is when I am trolling. I will use a snap swivel so it is easier to change out my lure if I come across different species offshore because we prefer different lures for mahi vs. tuna.
