- The objective of the Dholera smart City Project is to build an inclusive and sustainable city with a focus on people and their livelihoods.
It will be a livable and sustainable environment for generations to come.
The project site encompasses about 11,000 hectares of land and is located about 60 km from Ahmedabad, the largest city in Gujarat.
Dholera Smart City will be constructed over 114 square kilometers (roughly seven times the size of Singapore).

The semiconducter factory is facing few issues, as Vedanta is short of funds and negotiations with STMicroelectronics are not complete. Once they are complete the project would take 4-5 years to begin production.
So in the interim, the govt should focus on making it a Green Energy hub, and invite Solar Equipment manufacturers, Electric auto component units and Battery manufacturing.

There is no funds issue. The issue is that vedanta and foxconn want partner for short term only but smt is saying that they want be partner for wayy longer term and will not fully transfer tech.

It is in very easy stages, there's definitely a chance to make it a world class city... Whole area looks like a flatland which is actually a very good thing..
The land is actually barren, no agriculture can be carried out here, that is why this was picked, as it wouldn't eat up the agriculture land

Those who are saying that the work is it too slow... I agree to some extent but right now there's a grounding process going on in the whole area...and it takes a lot of time...
For example the riverfront in Ahmedabad, when that riverfront was built for almost two three years govt was just dumping tons and tons of sand just to level up the area on which it will be built.... And at that time my dad also got frustrated and was criticizing and saying that lets hope it doesn't become a blunder...
But today riverfront is one of the best attractions of Ahmedabad City... Sometimes when you go there, form some angles it feels like you are at some foreign place ....
People were also saying that a gift City will be a huge disaster but Today international banks are coming there for doing business, So be patient and wait for the beautiful outcome...

why all the roads are so thin?? once it gets industrialized this place will also suffer from traffic and will get congested, most of the roads in this city has 2-3 lanes whereas roads in dubai have 5-7 lanes, even though their city is less populated than ours

@lord cheem amaravati end up like raipur ?? u have 0 idea about my native place. even before amaravati place bw vijayawada and guntur is expanding rapidly.. after amaravati it is bound to be fastest built city like noida and gurugram but politician stopped it.
India does not need new cities. Just focus on improving 800 district towns and 5,000 taluka towns with a targeted programmed. Focus on the following
1. Improve local faciltieis
2. Motivate people to come back to native place for a few years.
3. Incentivize people to shift there for 3-5 years.
Its a waste of time and money to build new cities, that in a place 150 km from Ahmedabad.

And we aren't authoritarian communist dictatorships that'll bulldoze construction without taking resource availability & sustainability into account then end up with ghost cities across the nation. Sustainability comes only from Steady growth. Even dubai was build from scratch on barren land but don't forget that whole city is built by enslaved labor with no regards to human rights. Neither we are under some emirati ruler nor commie china. We are a democracy & things will take it's own time specially in a country that's always been driven by feudal mindset. It won't change that easily..
