The Standard Hydrogen Electrode (SHE) serves as a benchmark in electrochemistry, providing a reference point for measuring electrode potentials. Consisting of a platinum electrode immersed in a solution with hydrogen ions at unit activity and bubbling hydrogen gas, the SHE boasts several key features:
Reference Standard: SHE establishes a baseline for measuring electrode potentials, with its potential defined as exactly 0 volts at all temperatures.
Universal Comparisons: Its simplicity and reproducibility make it an invaluable tool for comparing the reactivity and electrochemical behavior of different substances.
Theoretical Significance: SHE's equilibrium reaction, involving the reduction of hydrogen ions to hydrogen gas, aligns with fundamental principles of thermodynamics and kinetics, facilitating theoretical analyses.
Practical Applications: Despite its theoretical underpinnings, SHE finds practical use in various fields, from corrosion studies to the determination of standard electrode potentials for half-cell reactions.

Explain the softening of water. And two processes also explain
From where, does the electron is constantly supplying?
From anode (Zn) where oxidation takes place
i also want to ask the same question
At the anode zinc solid gets converted to zinc+² ions and 2 electrons....
These are those electrons which are supplied to cathode..
It can be supplied from any metal that has negative reduction potential number such as, Zinc , Magnesium or Aluminium....if SHE is not attached to any aother electrode it won't work
Thanks for the music...love you ❤❤❤❤😍

its fine that at 0.37 sec hydrogen is passed through the electrode....but why are the electrons passed through it?
sindhu vanamala
I would like to assert that that this animation is not at par or a misleading one. Animation merely serves as a visual aid to grasp the notion behind the unobstructed motion of electrons......
Cus it's platinum and it can pass the electrons that comes from anode, that's the whole point of using platinum
Whats the name of the music

Can anyone one tell me how H2 gas gets converted into H+? Plzz
The H2 loses one e-and oxidises to H+ and the losed e- by H2 then attracted by H+ formed and H2 formed . Summay:- H2->H+
H+->H2
Hence eqm , achieved
