My brother was murdered at a local bar, the man Daniel Mohar only received 8 months for murdering my amazing brother. Daniel Mohar head butted him and he never recovered and died two days later. Unfortunately, no one called 911 to help him because everyone walked away. My brother Teddy was the absolute light of our lives and he is missed everyday. The Durham PD and Durham District Attorney’s office failed my brother with their actions, or lack of action. If only being murdered in a bar was not considered a fight and actually considered what it was! An unprovoked attack which ended in my brother dying. This is murder!

Hi, bouncer here. We are legally required to maintain eTips certification as well as many times required online training (not in my personal experience, but I know bouncers who take yearly training). [Edit: it clearly states around the 20 second point in the video that the bouncer was licensed, so he was properly trained] Once someone gets their beer muscles on, usually all bets are off and it's restrain and respond with necessary force. The "rule" is that you are not allowed to throw a punch until you've been hit twice. You will seldom find a bouncer who follows that rule. If we get hit, you're getting hit back. If we get hit twice, the chances of you walking away from the situation on your own is unlikely. If someone tries to force themself into the establishment after having been removed, they will be meet with force. I have personally sent someone backwards down a set of stairs after having to wrap my arms around their head and neck and drag them out. He got a concussion. Video footage showing him hit another patron and then being forcefully removed was deemed my actions justifiable when the idiot tried to sue. I'll say 85% of the time for the sake of begin generous, when someone gets into an incident with a bouncer resulting in injury, the bouncer was likely in the right and applying just force.
It's a shame this kid is suffering from his injuries, but there is no way he is completely innocent and the fact that he is in this condition, the bouncer isn't completely in the right either because the force appears to have been excessive without all the details.

This is what happens when you hire a particularly violent type of people because they don’t fight fair. They are aggressive. They are ignorant as they are criminal. This bouncer should be arrested and put in jail before he does this to someone else. Bet he has a criminal past.

This happened probably about 2:00 in the morning and me and my other son started asking questions of other store owners at the plaza and that's when we found out some horrific truths but also because I went there so quickly the first person the waitress that was waitressing at the time at the bar told us the truth she didn't know to lie and then after talking to other store owners we went back to ask them some more questions at the bar and the story completely changed basically found out the owner of the plaza was in with the police and didn't want the bad publicity so whenever this type of stuff would happen which was often it would never be reported never

Just watched a story about the increase of alcohol related deaths. I don't believe they were counting these, but should. Y'all should consider your life choices. Neck tattoos and face piercings demonstrate your lack of care for society. It might/has come back to bite you. Yeah, I'm going to get hater posts telling me I'm disrespectful to the family. This is a TH-cam story, not an obituary. As the other comments show, bars can be dangerous. I used to be in that crowd. My best friend was severely beaten by a bouncer. He lived with his scars the rest of his life but he also saw it as a consequence of his choices.

Some of those security guards think that they’re tough guys because they are protected by authority and have the law on their side. They think that they can do anything that they want to people……ANYBODY can be tough in that situation. That security guard Richard Cornelius would fail as a boxer because in the ring, he wouldn’t have the protection that he had while he was a security guard. Guys like him always run for cover when they know that no one is there to protect them and no boxer would put up with what he did to that customer in a boxing ring……..I’m not saying that the victim was innocent because I know how it gets in those bars but no one deserves to be killed or hurt like that. Security could’ve just restrained the guy until the police came. I’ve witnessed incidents where security guards restrain people in situations like that. Since I witnessed those security guards restrain customers then, this security guard should’ve done the same.
