The building of the ship was superb, but I was especially impressed by the subtlety of the weathering. The rust stains on the hull were very tastefully and beautifully done! Awesome. You are a talented artist, sir. Thanks for sharing.

Este foi um dos maiores navios de guerra da história pesando simplesmente 70.000 toneladas. Além dele só existiu o seu irmão gêmeo Musashi. Mas isso você deve saber, é claro.

This is one of the better battleships scale models I have seen, yes you can sell a kidney in money for the photoetch and special add on's such as brass main guns, resin aircraft, and a host of 1-350 figures. This is a job well done, when I built mine, it was a bulk standard and people will be surprised how big a model 1-350 is making this ship in real life a monster

I built one of those in Japan when I was stationed there
in the early 70 s. It turned out a little over 6' long and 2' tall. It took me almost 6 months to build (we had no English TV, only AFRTS) so I had plenty of time on my hands. It was put at the top of our shipping container on the way back to the states and somehow wound up on the bottom.
Oh! They are very fragile pieces indeed. But currently there are many options for manufacturers and versions on Yamato / Musashi. Have fun and assemble another one! Thank you!

The coolest part is when you actually drilled into the gun barrels. Now that's really detailling.
Isn’t that a common practice though ? I do that for even 1/700 scale models. I’d say that’s the most common thing he did to his model...meanwhile the way he displayed the float planes, having one hanging from the crane is kinda unique.

Intermediate*, not beginners. I don’t expect beginners to use a precise drill yet.

How do you paint the keel of the ship? I mean this very straight red bottom portion against the grey top portion? Applying tape the entire lenght of the ship is not precise at all. What kind of tape to you use?

Zer0wl small width masking tape is essentially required to paint in strict boundaries such as the small boat decks. Don't use regular masking tape as the edges are not designed to fully adhere to the surface.
