Speaking about state of journalism without talking about the low pay-scale, long hours, poor work conditions among other workplace "hazards" seems futile. I would appreciate it if the senior journalists could talk about that too. Let the people know what the job actually entail.

Newslaundry is a type of newschannel who was frustrated to see the nonsense done by nonsense media who were not showing ground report, so newslaundry started to do nonsense talk about other nonsense medias instead of talking about ground realities 😂

I watch Tippani on Newslaundry. Its metaphors and delivery is pretty good. Newsance & chota hafta podcast feels like tippani(hindi for commentary) or unscripted, not real journalism
You should watch/read newslaundry ground reports on manipur , flood coverage etc. They do real journalism but the podcasts and satire shows like TV newsance get more views. I guess we all watch entertainment over real journalism unfortunatly.
So they're basically doing what they started out to do, i.e. critiquing the media. Don't gatekeep.

Hi barkha. You probably might want to change the recording room structure a bit. Despite those huge mikes, the sound is a little icky.
Madhu and her Brother Play It both ways, a news Organisation, in order to be totally neutral should always play both sides, but News Laundry now only has one dimension. and Madhu is very much responsible for that.

Madhu Trehan - I was unhappy about people sitting in studios and just passing comments, so I decided to hire people to sit in a studio and pass comments on them.
All in jest, of course! You've done a great service to make sensible news stories palatable to people. Best wishes for your many many last chapters. :)

Reporting news should involve not sitting in studios and reporting through researched commentry. I am really wonderstruck , how people who were once hand in glove with the powers that be , and dyed in the narrative of their times , are now uncomfortable when the tide of time is changing . Amazed that they did not realize change is the only constant . In a milieu when nepotism was ruling the roost and arenas that had the potential of money and growth were a reserve of few families, they were comfortable because they had a seat at the table. With economy opening up and Indians now showing their talent in many areas and challenging the notions of those who were operating by virtue of their contacts , off course erstwhile elites are finding it difficult to maintain their primacy in august circles . To add to their woes , there is a PM that does not give legitimacy to Lutyen cliques . So off course , people who never found their place under the sun on their own merit , will find it challenging . To couch that in morality and have a sympathetic ear in someone who was also flourishing under a banyan tree , following a private political agenda when she was at the helm in NDTV , I could predict how the conversation will go between these two people. May god give them strength for a bumpy ride , since times are changing. It is not the road , it is their read of times.
Answer simple question - why is Modi scared of press conferences? Trudeau, Biden, etc. Govt head in democracies give press conference.

Have you seen her work, she always wrote against people in power, including Congress. Please see the whole interview. Also, the media played a big part in Ana Hazare agitation. Do you think they will do the same now.

I wonder why no one raised concerns about the state of journalism during the UPA era, when Barkha Dutt and her legion of journalists at NDTV used to obtain overwhelming levels of support and info from the regime. She was very much a part of Lutyens Delhi. I guess when the BJP came into power in 2014, she’s no longer invited to those parties😂…No wonder she misses the UPA regime…😂

Naresh Trehan makes so much money, so why does she even need to work? Journalism is more of a hobby and not a livelihood for her. The Moral of the story for women is to marry well and then pursue their hobbies.
