    A pitman arm puller is the way to go get on loan from autozone or take the box down to a shop and the steering box out of the truck and in a vice to do it is best plus huge caution using a torch to heat the arm up you can melt the seal on the worm shaft easily ruining the box and a bunch of pounding and prying is not recommended either great video

    Looks like it turned out to be more like an 7 or 8 inch lift. Put a 4 inch lift (supposed to be) on my 91 F250, measured before and after and it turned out to be 5.5 inches of lift. Make sure that front brake line isn't stretched too far

    Yeah I put headers and dual exhaust on my 1983 chevy Scottsdale k20 with a 350 and turbo mufflers and it sounds good

    I’ve got three of my bracket nuts just spinning. 🙄 1995 f250 7.3. Same lift kit. Gonna have to cut the bolts and figure something else out for those three that I have to cut.

    just for future reference if you need to remove the pitman arm on a truck like this they have a pitman are puller other than that great job man i put a 6" on my 96 150 with 33s if you go 35s you will need to change gears in both axles

      pmorris35 I'm running 35's right now. The 4.10 gears handle them like a charm

    Got the same truck and I'm thinking about getting that lift, but I am concerned the truck will feel gutless with 35s... when you put 35s on it, did you re-gear it or is it just fine?

    It doesn’t look like you have a solid front axle, were you able to adjust the camber so the front tires are straight up and down?

    • @UpNorthOutdoors
      @UpNorthOutdoors  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Chris Moser I can check in a little bit for ya. But they settled over time so it varies a little bit

    • @chrismoser4689
      @chrismoser4689 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      That would be great I just need to be close. A measurement from a strait edge between the two spring mounting bolts and the top of the axle it would help a lot.

    • @UpNorthOutdoors
      @UpNorthOutdoors  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Bob Emu Yes the lift kit is identical it is for f250's from '87-'98. The lift kit is $610 plus if you want a steering stabilizer it'll cost you some more.

    • @UpNorthOutdoors
      @UpNorthOutdoors  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      I have basically finished my straight axle swap with a dana 60 (which is the axle that fits) and my old lift works perfect with it with the leaf springs

    • @frostbite1991
      @frostbite1991 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      +UpNorthOutdoors good to hear. i have a 92 7.3 idi with the twin traction beam. was an old cement/gravel hauler so all the axles were upgraded. im torn between a 4 or 6" lift.

    • @UpNorthOutdoors
      @UpNorthOutdoors  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      I honestly think the 4" looks great and now that I made my new bumper I could easily fit 38" tires. But a 6" lift would be sick too!! The only reason I didn't do a 6" is that I would be getting pulled over alot here in mn for being to high

    • @frostbite1991
      @frostbite1991 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm in N Idaho. Just saw a newer power stroke lifted about 10" with 46's at the grocery store. Cops dont care here lol. I used to have a 92 f250 with a 351W crate motor lifted 6" with 35's. Rode like shit, and I bet it was a rough country lift, but it had a D60 up front and a sterling 55 full floater in the back. It was a beast but I could literally watch the fuel gauge sink at wot. I might look into a sas if I do decide to lift it big.

    • @UpNorthOutdoors
      @UpNorthOutdoors  9 ปีที่แล้ว

Your 4" seems to sit just about right. Now, what size tires are on your truck or have you put them on your truck already?

    • @UpNorthOutdoors

    Hey I just lifted my 1990 f250 and I have some new 35s I'm going to put on and I'm just wondering if you had a camber problem with the front wheels when you lifted your truck? If so how long did it take for the front end to settle down?

    • @UpNorthOutdoors
