      Oh man!! I had already settled on a different brand, and just happened to come across your video that made me throw all my previous research away, this thing's on a whole nother level. Automatic on and off, the locking mechanism, can be conected to the air source, wasn't too happy about the schrader but then you mention you can just screw it off and can use presta. With all those extras, I don't mind the price at all. ps the 300 psi too

    Is the "nozzle" that goes over the valve deeper than on the D2? I don't like using the D2 on presta valve because it's making contact well before it's connected enough to get a reading. The tire drop several psi every check because of this. If the nozzle is deeper on this gauge, it sounds worth the investment to me.

    great video...is there a way to clean out the gauge... I can see tire sealant clogging it up

      Yeah it unscrews so you should be able to clean it.

    Can you use this for a shock pump

    The D2's shape allows it to measure in more confined spaces. The fact that it has a dedicated button to enter the pressure tuning mode can be viewed as a con or as a pro. It means that the gauge can hold the last measurement. So if you want to measure pressure of a tire where the valve is inconvenient or hard to reach while watching the display, you just put the gauge on that valve stem until you hear a beep, indicating successful measurement, then you take the gauge off and read the pressure on the display. With the Shuttle gauge that is always showing the live pressure readings, this would be impossible.
    So basically the D2 (and its updated model D2X, which can measure with 0.1 PSI resolution) is a gauge for measuring first and foremost, pressure tuning (deflating) as a secondary feature. While the Shuttle is designed more as a live pressure monitoring tool (inflating or deflating), or perhaps even as a way to upgrade a pump without any gauge. I think a Topeak Mountain Morph would be a good combo with the Shuttle.

    I have a D2 and I found it to be the best forks psi "controller". After pumping the forks, I do a quick psi check with the D2 and the forks only lose about 1 psi or less. That way, I can use the D2 to reduce the forks pressure one psi at a time. Try doing that with the hard to read gauge that come with shock pumps! I wonder if you can do the same with the new one since it needs to be locked.

      You don’t have to lock it on. So it might work for you.

    Good video. As European I can help - kg/cm2 is kilogram by square centimetre - this is almost a BAR (0.980665 ). This PSI is weird for me :)

    • @GenePavlovsky
      @GenePavlovsky 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I'm European but I usually use PSI when it comes to mountain bikes and their low-pressure tires. Although with cars I think in bars :) Either way, easy to convert mentally, 1 bar ~= 14.5 psi.

    So the resolution is 0.5 psi? My OCD is trying to decide if that’s close enough - def better resolution than my old eyes and a dial gauge. 🤔

    • @RunBikeMike
      @RunBikeMike  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Lol yeah it seems to read at 0.5. I say close enough for me at least. I am not sure I am skilled enough to feel the difference in even 1 psi. 😂

      @MorryB ปีที่แล้ว +1

      When you ride a fatbike at pressures like 5-10Psi, +/-0.5Psi matters!
