PASMO is more convenient than cash for transportation in Tokyo. It can be used in vending machines, trains, shopping, etc., and can be purchased at airports and stations. Be sure to visit 上野東照宮Ueno Toshogu Shrine next to Ueno Zoo. It is a very gorgeous shrine that enshrines Tokugawa Ieyasu, the shogun of the Edo period.

Ramen dishes are the best. 👍 I too was amazed about all the vending machines literally everywhere 😁 You should go to the original famous “Tsukiji Fish Market” although it closed there is an experience of an outer section still operating.. But a few Kilometres the New Toyosu Markets is twice the size.. amazing experience it’s free entry to and the Sushi 🍣 is the finest in the world I felt. 😉 Kyoto is beautiful and once the Capital a must walk around. Tokyo Skytree another experience. You need to experience a traditional Onsen Hot Spring/ Bath. Many hotels have these they are so relaxing. I know from your videos you enjoy walking… You will just simply stumble into so many beautiful places to see just being the “wanderers” you both are .. enjoy 🙏🏻😉😎🍲

If you find yourself in Tokyo Station and are looking for a good meal, I highly recommend Tonkatsu Suzuki. It's located inside Tokyo Station's "Kitchen Street" area. This is a small restaurant with a few tables and mostly counter seats and they specialize in tonkatsu. I haven't been to Japan enough times to say this is the best place for tonkatsu nor have I tried nearly enough restaurants but I absolutely love this place and from all the restaurants I've had tonkatsu in Japan, this was by far the best.
I always LOVED fall in Japan...except the size of the bugs and the webs spun from tree to tree, that used to creep me out! You guys would love going to Nikko! I highly recommend it along with a gyoza sampling in Utsunomiya. If you make your way down to Yokohama Chinatown the kabocha bao buns at Edosei are phenomenal. They only have them in October.

Lesser known restaurant vending ticket tip. Usually the button in the top left corner is what they feel they're the best at. Also...when going around Tsukiji, you MUST hit Turret Coffee. Best coffee you can find. (plus, they have a souvenir from me in the shop )

Love the way you guys are capturing your trip to Japan. Lots of the things you have done are the same I have too in 2018 + 2019 (the only times I was there). This particular Harajuku and Meiji area is very dear to me. I don't know why, maybe's it's the Chaos and the Calm (although the park is often busy but it still feels calm). Let me recommend you guys to go to Uyeno, and look for Ameyoko Street , where you will find so many small shops selling a variety of foods, clothes, bags, etc. at very reasonable prices.

1 thing I was surprise that it has vending machine with warm drinks! I came there in dec 2007, visiting Meiji Jungu, go to Odaiba City, and not stopping there in April 2015.

A couple of recommendations for you- go for a shabu-shabu meal- some great ones in Tokyo Take a train to Kamakura and do some of the walking tours of the beautiful temples there
Thank you for another great video! I’m from LA, but live/work in Yokohama and we have the Ramen Museum right outside the Shin- Yokohama station. Not only is it a museum about the history of Ramen, but it also has different ramen restaurants inside where you can try the specialty ramen from all over Japan! We also have the Cup Noodle Museum in Minato Mirai (a fun part of Yokohama to explore and easy/quick to get to from Tokyo) where you can create your own unique Cup Noodle to take home. 🍜🍥One of the things I love about Japan is that you never run out of things to do or places to explore! I don't know if you saw this or not, but Peach Aviation is having a 10th anniversary sale. All tickets across Japan (domestic) are just 390 JPY!! So, you can fly from Tokyo to Okinawa for 390 JPY each way! Or Fukuoka to Sapporo! But you have to book from October 23 - 28, and the flights are between Nov 12 to Mar 15. If you can, I'd definitely try those out. They're a light weight carrier (7 kg / bag) so you could leave some heavier stuff with your relatives and then go traveling around Japan for super cheap. :-)

The recent one month trip was to see places she had never been (Busan, Ulleungdo, Suncheon, Tongyeong, Jeonju and Sokcho). We are headed back again for 3 weeks in December. We also travel the world and have been to 81 countries, with more to come. We watch you on TH-cam to get ideas as to where to go.

If you are in Shibuya again have to try the sushi restaurant in the Seibu building 8th floor. The sushi is sooooo good there and it’s inexpensive!

You describe that park really well. Even though there's often a lot of people, it feels like a quiet sanctuary in comparison to Harajuku.
Visit supermarket in late evening. Ready to eat meals will discount a lot.
