I was actually using streamyard as a video recording studio, really easy to preload clips and talking points and then record the video, this price hike is CRAZY
@@dailytheology1689 crazy is right. All have had price increases but generally you leave people at the price they came in at. For them to change prices for all customers is crazy.
@@BeardedDadFishing yea man it’s a very sad situation… they really should keep long time users locked into their plan and raise the prices for new comers. Several other platforms do that and it works.
@@kirkrnugent yes sir that would be the right way to do it. My buddy can confirm they are keeping the old $50/month users at their current rate, but they’re forcing the $25 or less subscribers up to their new rate.

Hi Kirk, thank you so much for this video! Could you comment on how responsive Support is for each of these options please? And do they have good How To information? And a helpful community? StreamYard was so good on all those fronts!
Thanks for the comment and support of the channel. I have been a Streamyard user from the beginning and honestly they are all patterned after the StreamYard model. They all have active support though i've heard both good and bad stories. They all have supportive and responsive communities but in that arena i've actually seen better than Streamyard. Most except Riverside are could do with way more How-to video content this was an area Streamyard excelled in but have fallen off just like support, community, and of course the price. Very sad but as with anything we get out of it what we're willing to put in. I hope this answers you question and again thanks for the support.
So Kirk, One alternative that I did not see get an honorable mention is MelonApp - Which is now called Streamlabs Talk Studio. I believe that I got on it as an AppSumo deal. So that is what I will use as an alternative. #ThePriceIsRight
@@juanlatin3595 I don’t know that plan exists. All free plans have the StreamYard logo. Actually most of the free plans from all the web based streaming platforms have the logo watermark as a limitation.
Thank you so much for this video. I have been searching for alternatives because the audio/video lag synching issue is drving me crazy! Your videos are all so clean, sound and look great and synched perfectly. What are you doing? I have tried everything. I upgraded to StreamYard Pro to record in 1080, I have really fast internet, and my camera settings are all good. I don't have this issue when recording on any other platform (Zoom, Camo) or straight to SD card. I'm ready to give up. Thanks again for this video.
@@rondalucy your lag issue is because audio is direct through USB where the camera/video (I assume you’re using a dslr camera) is connected through a capture card which introduces an extra hop and that extra hop means audio and video are not arriving at the same time. You can solve this through audio hijack on a Mac or Voicemeter banana /blackhole on windows. For the larger issue of quality this is a limitation of what I call tier 2 (web based streaming) platforms. Going through a browser based studio simply does not yield the same quality as locally installed applications. Camera -> Capture card -> Chrome -> StreamYard. This is the exact reason I moved away from Tier 2 to Tier 3, I currently use Ecamm Live Pro which is a Mac only application it has a built in audio delay feature to ensure synchronized audio/video and gives me the quality I see on the camera. I use it to stream but I also use it to record all my videos including this one. ☝️ Sorry for the length of the message but I hope it helps.
@@kirkrnugent Oh man! This is exactly what I needed to know. I did not have that level of technical understanding until this video and now the further clarification from your answer. I cannot thank you enough, and BTW, thanks to you I just have downloaded Ecamm, signed up for the newsletter, and am committed to making the switch. So, I am very much looking forward to the next video you mentioned at the end of this video. YAY!! Problem solved! This is so important to me because the lag is soooooooo annoying. And I have began to notice it on others' videos too and it drives me nuts!! :)
All of them have a web component that is accessible through a Mobile Web Browser but none (including StreamYard) has a Dedicated App. For Mevo devices it all depends what gear you have and how are you connecting it. If you're using it as a webcam shouldn't be a problem but again i'm assuming alot to make that statement so you would know better than me. Thanks for your comment and support of the channel!
Absolutely! I’m a long time Restream User and cover your updates from time to time on this channel. Love Playlists and the addition of scenes to the studio.
Totally agree Riverside made that unnecessarily confusing… but it’s because they added the live studio very recently so it’s a Bolt-on to what was already there.
At least you got an email. They didn't even give me any notification and just charged my card the higher amount all of a sudden. So I wanted to cancel. From $10 to $44?! No thanks. Then later on they gave me a "deal" to stay. So I agreed to pay the invoice that showed a discount for the annual plan. Guess what, they charged the full amount anyway. Invoice showed a discount, so total was $235 annually, which I agreed to pay. Then after clicking "confirm plan change" they charged my CC $431. 😰
