Thank you for covering evmux! We're thrilled to hear that you like it, and we’re proud to be checking all your boxes! The future is definitely bright, with even more exciting features on the way, so stay tuned! We can’t wait to see your audience leverage evmux for their live streams and recordings. 😊
I'm definitely considering it to replace streamyard. however, ISO recording is extremely important to me and that is only in your Pro and not your basic. So, I won't be saving any money between SY or you.. if that changes, and it is cheaper, Ill most likely make the switch!
I just paid 44.99 today for the core plan with streamyard 😢, i used to use the basic plan for 25.00. They just raised the prices without any warnings. I just happened to see your video and was like I'm not alone.
I’m thoroughly pissed. I have to redo my last video because apparently muting and unmuting button cause my audio to make cracking noise. So now I have to redo the rest of the video. The $44 a month or over $470 a year isn’t worth it. I’m hoping to find something before December.
Thank you so much for mentioning Restream in your review! More customization for scenes and layouts is indeed coming soon :) We'd also love to clarify that we have an extra camera feature! It's available on any of our plans, including the free tier, and each Studio participant can have up to 2 extra cameras. You can find it by clicking the plus icon at the bottom of Restream Studio. Thank you for all the awesome feedback, we'll definitely bring it back to our team 🚀
Hello restream, I am very frustruated that when the RTMP Feed blips for even a few seconds your service cannot go black and then continued the same video when it reconnects. It creates a new video each time that happens which is very confusing and frustruating for viewers because one blip from the source and the livestream ends. The only option you offer to put a fix this is by using your studio service which costs $299/month normally (I know its $150 right now, but even that is way out of the ballpark of what an artist can afford.). I have addressed this with support and they said they'll mention to the developers. I am very hopeful this will be a fix/improvement.
@GregoryMcLoughlin Just FYI, we are not Restream and so their support team does not come here looking for tickets or issues. Your best bet is to continue to work with them directly: support.restream.io/en/
I have had streamyard for years I hated the price hike so I canceled and so did all 20 people I referred and probably even more after your video...I hope they tank for being so greedy....I think Im going to go with evmux....great review
I've been doing Internet marketing since 1998, and have been recording and posting online audio and video since 2003. You've done a very good job here in discussing the issues involved, and in showing us some good alternatives to StreamYard, and I thank you for this!😊
Thanks for the video! Leaving Streamyard for Evmux. Also going to consider OBS or Ecamm for personal projects. Streamyard was just always easier for my guests to use.
Obs is for developers and we support our developers sooo they give us OBS... my developers are follow as Such Exceldro. Andilipp. AJayTHE CEO. Scott Flitcher. Photo Joseph. Arron pareki.
This is what I was thinking throughout the entire video... I'm wondering if I'm missing something here, as in.... what even are these products? What is their purpose? I have always streamed with OBS and edited with Davinci Resolve... so what is it about these products that means I have to pay for them?
OBS/Ecamm/vMix are all the same "category" - downloadable software vs browser based solutions. Browser based is great for when you don't have a powerful enough computer or want a simpler interface without a lot of customization. OBS/Ecamm/vMix are great for power, customizing and more. OBS is really not intuitive or easy for MOST of the world, so if you're not uber geeky, Ecamm feels better for some people. :)
I recently tried ecamm which I loved but my old Mac is not up to the software to go live so for now I’m thinking restream ( I’m coming from stream yard. Which was a great intro for me but more expensive now for not much more than before but I’m still grateful for the experience of stream yard 🙂
Give Evmux a try, it's the closet to Ecamm in terms of features and capabilities. Restream is great, but you are paying more for fewer features - though of course that could change in the future.
After watching your video I’m definitely leaving streamyard this week. My last video was a disaster. Now they tell me their mute and unmute button option causes cracking in the audio. They tried to blame my mic which doesn’t have a physical mute button. And then didn’t write back. I’m testing out the last two suggestions. Thank you!!!🙏
Thanks so much for this. What do you recommend is the best option to live stream yoga, from a phone, and then get HD recordings for uploading to an app? Only starting out looking for help. Thank you xx
Are you looking for great ideas? If so, you can check these out: livestreamingpros.com/gear/ and livestreamingpros.com/bold/ If you're asking about software and you are going to use TH-cam, you can use the free TH-cam app. 👍
I would have continued to pay for Core, but they removed my ability to use 2 cameras. I do not know what I will do now and am trying to figure out a replacement.
I'm wondering if I'm missing something here, as in.... what even are these products? What is their purpose? I have always streamed and recorded with OBS (extremely customisable) and edited with Davinci Resolve... so what is it about these products that means I have to pay for them?
OBS is great if you're streaming to one platform and want full control over your overlays/scenes/fx/etc. Products like Streamyard are great for quickly streaming to multiple platforms, having guests on your stream, recording audio for podcasts, and just being more lightweight since they're web-based. Though OBS and Streamyard/etc. can be used to stream, they serve different parts of the market.
@@yutakoh Thanks for this explanation. I have been trying to figure out the reason that so many of the big TH-camrs pay these monthly subscriptions when you can get OBS for free. 😃
Great question! @Yutakoh gave a great response! :)

Love your thorough review, energy and enthusiasm. Sadly RIP not so poor Streamyard - it was a good run until the new owner milked the cash cow too much.
Do any of these services have a way to switch over/failover to a "we'll be back"-type screen when live-streaming in the field (ie. from an iPhone) for those times when signal is spotty? I've seen it happen, but not sure what they're using to keep YT streams live. BTW...GREAT deals & links on the Black Friday/Cyber Monday doc!👏🏻
Do any of these platforms offer support in anything near live response? I just recorded an entire episode on Streamyard. The entire audio track is missing except for audio from a video clip. I'm now in a terribly delayed email support thread, and to be honest, the responses I'm getting are obviously automated. I see nothing that indicates my initial message has even been read. If there is an issue, I'd like at least live chat in real time. It doesn't seem any of these companies offer this anymore!
While real time chat isn't really a viable options for smaller companies, I do know that the support teams work hard to help people as quickly as possible!
Yep, I used to use it a lot! I've used most products on the market (and there are a TON of them LOL), and I recommend the ones I do based on what's the EASIEST and SMOOTHEST to use for the MOST number of people. I deal with thousands of students who go through my trainings, and can see what the majority struggle with, like, etc. :)
