My family and I took a little road trip to the Liberty Antique Festival in Liberty NC a few weeks ago and I wanted to share with you some of the goodies I found.
Super fun haul! I can hardly wait to see Santa glowing beautifully in your home! At the beginning of the shopping video there was a green bedspread with pompoms on it. I never knew I needed one till I saw a pink one at an estate sale. It’s so cute and fun and $5 perfect! A Pyrex coffee pot, a fire king blossom creamer and sugar bowl, an Italian green glass mid century tall vase, and a few small vintage ornaments rounded out that whopping $20 haul. Not a thing amber in sight dang it! Fun finds though. I also love the melamine set you got for your daughter too. It’s perfect. Thanks for taking us along and sharing your finds. 💛💛🍁🎃💛
That sounds like the best time! We don’t have estate sales like that around here. Ours are all nautical decor. Lol! Not my style. I’m glad you were able to find some treasures.

I was a child during the sixties and graduated from high school in 1975 so I recognize a lot of vintage things I see from my childhood and that makes me nostalgic about vintage things that I should have saved. My mom used green stamps but they were still around when I reached adulthood so I collected them too. You were born the same year as my daughter. I love the mushroom melamine!

Oh my goodnesss!! The prices on the vintage Halloween cup, and witch container were outrageous! I guess I would have to be crazy to pay that!.I love reproduction decore for seasonal things. Mr. Santa is great! Love the melamine dishes! Vintage cookbooks are a weakness for me too, Becky! We had to help my Mom fill those green stamp books! 😃 Your vintage lawn chairs are awesome! Love your content! 🍁🌾🐿💖
Justine I am working on a video now that you will probably like. It’s all about decorating vintage for Christmas without using actual vintage decor. Much like the Mr. Christmas items.
Becky, looks like you had a great day vintage thrifting. ❤ The Santa blow mold is a great start to your blow mold collection. I looked at one at our local vintage fair that wasn’t as nice as the one you brought home and was priced more than double what you paid. I remember green stamps. My mom and grandma were always excited when they collected enough to redeem them for special items. I have my mother in law’s wrought iron picnic table and chairs that she purchased with green stamps.
I love your name💛 I call my daughter Kinna! I remember the green stamps. I have been searing my mind for a memory of anything my mom or grandmother purchased with them and I can’t. I remember the small soft towels that came in laundry detergent though. I have a couple of those still. What else could you get with the stamps? I am sad I can’t remember. @@jensherman2771 It is rare to find anyone with my name. My parents named me after a dancer on American Band Stand. My dad added the “i” to the spelling but pronounce it Kenna. I only remember the joy my mom and grandma had when a card was full. I also remember getting to lick and stick the stamps on the cards.

The only times in my life that I wish i was welthy or I didn't have to budget my money is when I get to go to antique shops or antique fairs, I drool 🤤 over all the beautiful treasures from the past that seems to be more and more expensive every day. Those chairs, oh my gosh! They bring so much memories, that was a super deal, I am glad you are enjoying them.

Thank you Kathy, yes we had a great time. I can’t wait to find more vintage blow molds to decorate with. It’s fun to see a collection grow. My vintage Christmas is small but hopefully one day I’ll have enough to actually say I have a vintage Christmas home.

The things we didn’t realize were treasures throughout the years right?!? I wish I could get my hands on some of the things I remember from my childhood. I think that’s why I’m always chasing the nostalgia.

Wow, some of the pricing seemed like what you would find in an Antique Store here in CA. When I notice something priced "silly high", I will think to myself that the vendor must really like the item and prefers to keep it... 🙂
My thought exactly, most were willing to negotiate but still with them coming down it was WAY out of my budget! I’m glad I was at least able to find a couple treasures.
David actually bought an antique fan from that same vendor that he was really excited about only to get it home and realize it didn’t work. (It worked initially because we plugged it in then it would get very hot, fire hazzard hot) We think they knew it when they sold it so I think I am going to agree with you on that statement.

Did the Indiana Glass company ever make a sandwich glass napkin holder in colonial blue? I have one in amber glass and my daughter said she would like to have a blue one. Thanks! Lana
Hi Lana, None of my research books have anything pertaining to the napkin holders so I don’t know if they made it in the blue or not. I did a quick google search and found one in pink and a teal color that is more green toned than blue. I’m not sure but there are some vintage glass Facebook groups that I turn to sometimes that are incredibly knowledgeable. Sorry I wasn’t more of a help.

The pink is not a color of pink you can find these days. It has a vintage homey warm feeling about it. Yea!

I picked Kinna (also said Kenna) when I was about 10 for my someday daughter. At 36 I finally got her! The both of you have the best name ever💛💛

Just Lily, she likes 70’s decor. Her apartment is very retro inspired. Summer not so much. She just came along with us because she’s so sweet.
