The way you described the sport with all the emotion behind it that was perfect and only a true fan and most importantly a passionate rider knows that feeling! BY FAR THE MOST PHYSICALLY DEMANDING SPORT ON THE PLANET! 180 bmp for 35min says it all.
I try to tell the this to my friends and my brother, who don’t ride or race, and they all want to debate me. They don’t have a clue what it takes to go fast for as long as these dudes do. It’s a feat. In my humble opinion it’s by far the most physically demand sport in the world. And Im open to anybody challenging that. It’s hard to do
This is flippen gold! I’ve been relatively fit for many years including fighting in my younger years to power lifting and bodybuilding while always riding some sort of motorcycle. Recently started racing competing in hard enduro and always knew from my social hard enduro riding that the excessive muscle on me was counterintuitive, so dropped a good 10kgs of weight to stay in the game but I’m still at a loss with nutrition. The calories we burn on an event is mind blowing and cognitive abilities is first one to go, being on a 300cc two stroke machine sometimes on a edge of a cliff and going at it for 5-6hrs takes a damn toll. Someone needs to get into the science of what we should be doing better and I’m glad I stumbled on this from the Casey podcasts, I’m all ears! Great podcast.
Dude, your content is amazing! As a Former Army Ranger and motocrosser, I have such an admiration for the physical /mental demands of this sport. I trained hard during the week (cardio, plyometrics, resistance training) so that I can last on the track.
Im glad other’s are realizing the direct correlation between moto and combat sports. The training style is literally the exact same, the only difference are the techniques you are training
@@GYPSYTALES Someone has to do it Jase and you are the man for the job. Loving the info regarding performance and the body. I’d love to hear more on the training that the pros do off the bike to help with endurance and strength. It’s hard to find quality info on that subject. All the best man.
At my last ride on an enduro practise track, I got to a coupla hours on the bike (in 2 or three stints) and still felt strong enough but realised I was riding like total crap, in every dimension from posture to line choice. I've only ever really used water on riding days, but I think I'm gonna find a salty sport drink!
I took creatine last 2.5 weeks and had such awesome force and built-up mass quickly but back to motocross on a sand track had huge arm pump. Later on the day I had a hockey game and got some huge cramps in my arms. My fingers closed themself alone !! They stayed closed and I could not open them up unless I wait some time and use my other hand to force it !!!!
Exactly the comment I was looking for. I took creatine for awhile when I was into working out and I couldn't ride more than a lap or 2. The arm pump was crazy. I remember millsaps was getting arm pump so bad in around 2011 I think. After looking into it they found out there was creatine in one of the supplements he was taking. Creatine is awesome but not for motocross.

I just watched this and that's exactly what popped into my head as soon as he said Creatine...and I came to the comments to see if anyone else caught that. Lol
J-mart is the most intense athlete I've ever enountered, he rode past us after a win at muddy creek and had the 1000 yard death stare. I was like damn these guys are in armageddon mode
You don’t want to be raking beta twice a day for no reason and deffo not on ride day your face will on fire and itchy mid moto, arm pump is from holding on too tight and being tense not from lactic, that’s only when you’re on your 5th moto of the day maybe where it could be handy
If you don’t use good quality anti oxidants to neutralise the ph balance in the body, the nutritional supplements don’t do their job as effectively. At the end of the day it is all about the cell being nice round and soft that gives athletes a huge benefit under intense pressure.
Im offended. I Have yet to see anything that is not %100 truth and i only watch a few things. Jase is all about the truth. I understand that people have a right to say what they want. I just don't understand how someone can give a thumbs down on a complete honest show... Its not a stupid Maury whos my baby show. These are facts.
Matt Fraser (crossfit guy) also highlighted the benefits of beta alanine when he was on Joe Rogan. Said its like a 3rd lung. I take it but the tinglys feel pretty weird. Like i just smoked crack. Well, i assume...
@@weStayModest appreciate the input..can lower doses mitigate some of that? Are the benefits worth the internal itch for a brief period of time? Im older than most, ride hare scrambles, d36 and looking to do hare & hounds again with d37. Will research more!
I usually describe the sport by describing someone doing partial air squats and partial bent over rows, at the same time, as fast as they can, for as long as a race is. Then let them watch 1 complete lap of a blown out national track and try to calculate the # of reps……🥵
Creatine definitely works; however, if you take it for too long, your body stops making it on it's own from the food you eat. Creatine will increase the power output, the lactic acid buffer allows you to go faster and longer with less fatigue!
@MX MIKE here’s what I was taking… 6 grams of Citrulline Malate 6 grams of BCAAs in the 2:1:1 ratio 2 grams of Con-Cret® Patented Creatine HCl 2 grams of Beta-Alanine 1.5 grams of Betaine 500 milligrams of Beet Root Extract 300 milligrams of Caffeine 150 milligrams of alpha-GPC(from 300mg of AlphaSize®) 50 micrograms of Huperzine A 5 milligrams of BioPerine® Black Pepper Extract
This is EXACTLY why we have Beta Alanine in my Energy Fuel products here in the states. This series has been incredible - keep them coming!
Thanks Coach!
thanks coach !
Hey coach. What’s your take on creatine for Mx? Does it give you arm pump?
7:01 is what you're looking for.
Thanks for that

Creatine
Beta Alanine
Electrolytes
Protein Powder (if needed for convenience)

Jiu Jitsu has completely changed motocross for me.
1 think you forgot to say is the camera slows down how fast they are going and also flatten out the track - those guys are next level insane !!
The physically demanding aspects of motocross is way underrated.
Yeah big time. The Gypsy Gang will change that!

Motocross is unbelievably demanding of your body. It can be exhausting so I can appreciate this segment.

Add pink himalayan salt to your energy drink
A few grains of salt is also good in beer
Ryno power guys! Mental that the last laps are as a fast as the first - Dungey HR was 200/ 202 at the end of the heat. Mental 🔥🔥🔥
I remember Millsaps blamed creatine for causing arm pump. I’ve always stayed away from it after hearing that.

I went to see a specialist this week and she helped me stretched my arms. I will now make sure to stretch them. I use a ball and it helped so far. 🤷

The amount is critical. "The difference between medicine and poison is in the dosage"
