    Still a lot of fittle fattle on getting them ready on the front end. need to see the back end and also how it goes at the farmer's market. Bee 🐝 Blessed!!!!!

      Yes, true. It’s also my fault I did not make sure to get frames that would 100% work. These were a little short so I had to fiddle. Mick told me the BetterBee economy frames work excellent. I plan on trying those next! Thanks for watching!

    Hi Josh,Tina and I had an awesome time in Kentucky with Kent and all the other beekeepers and we made it home with no problems. Meeting beekeepers like you there was just another bonus to going to the school and listening and learning from a EAS Master Beekeeper,everyone's questions made all three days different and a awesome learning experience. Hey Josh do you sell comb honey? Lol ✌️

      Hahaha, very funny Ralph! 🙂 It was so nice meeting you and Tina. What an awesome few days. I can’t wait to go back; I could listen to Kent for days. Glad you made it safe home! Cheers!!

    The bonus footage definitely showed how easy it can be to wax them. While you were brushing it on I was thinking of if you could somehow make a cookie cutter of sorts of the appropriate size and use it to cut out thin surplus foundation and get it to stick inside those cases. It'll be interesting to see how they do this year.

      Mick called me and said he prefers to use wax cubes and a hot plate. I may try that next. Just threw them on a very strong hive and we are in a flow so 🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼

    Lord you have more patience than I do. I would have been saying a lot of barn words lol😊 It looks to be a good idea and I can wait to see your first harvest video for sure

      Hehe. It was my first time using the product and I truly believe it is crucial to get frames of the correct dimension. I’m optimistic the end result will pay off with the upfront work. Time shall tell! 🤞🏼🤞🏼😎👍🏼

    I used the Dadant frames for my comb. i tried the wedge and grove frames. My issue was on the grove of the top bar. It was too thick to lock the tabs into the grove and for the tabs to be on the outside of the bar. The wedge worked better. I took off the wedge, I installed the first comb and then turned it over to install the second. then used to tacks to make sure they didn't fall out.
    Not sure if id call them Simplkomb for the installing part.

      I hear ya Dave. Mick called me today and we spoke for awhile. He gave me some good tips and tricks. I think BetterBee economy frames are the way to go. I’ll try those next.

    I love the tools in the backround; I have a question, both of those sides folds, meaning each have an option for a lid once the drawn honeycomp is there, now which's side lids you use to cover the honeycomb since you have two lids, hope I am not confusing you with logic, but from my perspective, one of the double fold/lid is a waste; I like my ross cartriges, much stronger, packaging than this plastic that looks very maleable, hence the comb honey inside can get damaged; great idea....but not there yet, unless I missed something.
    Again, I love your tools, I have a woodworking shop myself with every ghitsmo possible so you earned the admiration from my end.
    Dan

      Hi Dan! Thanks for the compliments! My dad is the woodworker and I just get to enjoy the benefits of using his shop, haha. He’s been woodworking longer than I have been alive so he’s quite talented and good at it. As for the SIMPLKOMB, the bees only fill one side with honey/comb. The other side is the lid itself. The hinge is in the middle. Think of it like a pad of paper where you flip the cover over the back, write on the paper, and then flip the cover back to the front. The cover in this case is the lid. Hopefully that makes sense. Go towards the end of the North American Honey Bee Expo video I uploaded and you will see Madison do a full demonstration. Thanks for watching!

    No mention what happens with the plastic cassettes after ,do they become land fill or are they used again , I m still not sure how these things work .

    • @beesintheweeds
      @beesintheweeds  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hello, they are sold individually to the consumer/customer. One frame holds 8 individual cassettes. It would be up to the customer to recycle the cassette when they are finished with the honey. They are one-time use.

    Doesn’t seem too easy with all you are having to mess with it LOL. I do think I will buy some

    • @beesintheweeds
      @beesintheweeds  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I did have to fuss with it. I attribute this to 1.) The Mann Lake frames were 1/8” too short. That made a big difference when I tried a frame I had that was the correct measurement. 2.) It’s the first time for me using the product so there’s going to be a bit of a learning curve. Overall, I think the simplicity will be on the backend when I go to extract and harvest the packages. Fingers crossed. Thanks for watching!

    If it ain’t broken don’t fix it. Not till I see a time lapse of bees filling these plastics with honey and seal the combs.
