Thank you for uploading these, so happy investigations 2 is officially localized, I will miss the old fan translation but what matters is everyone having access so I am glad.
Well the game does take place in 2019 and Kay is Gen Z so that does check out since the term existed then. Though it spiked in popularity the following year with Among Us.
I mean, I know this probably WAS a wink to he audience moment, but it mind-boggles me that people legit forget that sus has existed as a term for ages long before Among Us made it into an overly annoying specific reference to itself whenever someone said it. Among Us didn't really "spike the popularity" of the term, it just turned into a dumb "duuurrr u said sus among us duuuuuur" brain rot term. I used to say "sus" all the time back in school, during the early 2000s. "Sus" is actually an example of something that is kinda an inverted-popularity spike. It becoming a meme just made people say it less flippantly to avoid making a "reference to Among Us", so now I hardly see anyone use it unless they're specifically making that reference
@@jamesg6660 Honestly I don’t really care, I just think it’s funny that Capcom made her say it, because I know every lets player who sees that will make an Among Us joke or just say “What the hell Capcom”
There was a TH-camr named DoWolf who played through the original Japanese AAI2 and actually used “Simeon” as their fan name for Souta. So I was surprised to see that the name was used for the English localization 😮😮😮 The only difference is that the last name they used was “Traill”, and they explained it was because if you spelled his last name backwards, you can see the word “liar” in there.
Getting used to the new names is so weird!! I like the new names a lot, but after two playthroughs of the fan translation I just don’t know if I’ll ever get used to them. 😅
@@TheShanicpowerSithe isn’t that important of a character in the grand scheme of things. The two characters Iris named Iris is probably a slightly better example, albeit even Iris in T&T is another one-case character
Since we got an official translation of the character names in this game, I expect some of the bigger new characters in this one (like Eddie and Eustace) to make an appearance in Ace Attorney 7.
Wow! It seems astonishing. Verity's "Overruled!" sounds sugary sweet and divine. And Eustace's "Objection!" It sounds like a teenager hitting puberty for good measure! Kudos to transgender singer/actress/drag queen Endigo on the voice work for Eustace. These two (Verity and Eustace) are hardly the Tweedledee and Tweedledouche that NicoB referred them to in his playthrough.
It’s a crime that Elbird’s bear is now called Teddy. Rocky was such a good name for him Not to mention Dogen’s dog now being called Helmut. Anubis was such a fitting name for him
@ Well, there are a lot of Dominicans with Italian ancestry. I think his manner of speaking, his skin color and his Italian surname signal that he’s Dominican. I’d love to hear what other people think though.

It makes more sense to completely delete the fan translation now and have it be a relic of the past. Capcom would like that.
1:33:14 Nick got a unique annoyed sprite, meanwhile they use Edgeworth's damaged sprite for it
This case has such a strong opening hook that I honestly recommend anyone to play it’s opening cutscene immediately after finishing Case 1.
4:57:29 Kay Faraday just said “sus” in an official localization of Ace Attorney Investigations 2.

@@TheLegoMaster261tbf cammy meele did say Sus on the ds version of Investigations 1 back on 2009
But yeah i can see this as a wink nudge moment

3:25:40 Now you know how it feels, ehh Edgeworth? Gavelle just updated the autopsy report on you 😂😂😂

I’m very okay with Verity. Having two important characters in the franchise named Courtney felt awkward.

1:36:50 also passed down to Apollo and Athena from Phoenix!
I like courtney old "overuled" voice

3:58:28 You know, I always thought the guards' spinning here looked kinda silly.

It is called "Teddy" because the Rocky pun (which is obviously a reference to Rocky Balboa) is already present in Carcerato's first name, Rocco.
Teddy makes sense because of what was stated before. Helmut is pretty clever as well (hell mutt) even though I do still like Anubis
Amo que Eddie (Ray) diga algunas palabras en español
He kind of looks japanese-latino with that hair, the stubby moustache and the stylish wardrobe.
I didn’t think I would like Eustace Winner’s lines as much as Sebastian Debeste’s, but nope! I like Winner’s lines too!
I forget how wacky the AAI2 cases are, even by AA standards
Like, the first case of the game is more convoluted than Big Top
I think there are just to much details to learn and remember in this game's cases (especially 2nd and 3rd), like in Turnabout Ablaze.
I’m gonna infer that Rocco Carcerato is either Dominican or Cuban. Any thoughts on this?
I think more Italian - Rocco is an Italian sounding name
