Please please for the love of god you NEED to react to her tiny desk concert, she is an incredible talent but she absolutely shines in her live performances. I understand she doesn’t bring in the views but I’d like to think views don’t necessarily run everything right? Sometimes you’ve just gotta react because it’s an amazing talent that you need to watch.
And I know that you are getting a lot of requests for the Tiny Desk BUT, PLEASE DO MY MIND FIRST. It’s very much the first thing that sparked a flood of reactions and drew so many to Yebba . It’s circa 2015/6. You will witness one of the most raw and real examples of an artist that will break your heart and soul but leave you in absolute awe of the vocal agility and control of this amazing woman.
this girl is incredible, everything she comes up with is crazy, a simple guitar and just her voice works miracles. terrible bass and a crazy tempo hook you...she is divine divine...personally all her suggestions pierce me❤❤❤❤❤
Hey Bob, I’d press that Like button several more times if I could… Loved that reaction. Love Yebba ❤️ Thanks to Petra for suggesting. Yebba (Abbey spelled backwards, so probably more of a Yebbah-pronounciation, I guess) is one hell of a singer. She can go from silky and ethereal to growl and complete despair in an instance… Love, tenderness, abandonment, jealousy, rage, -this song runs the whole gamut of emotions, and her voice is the perfect vehicle for all of it… It completely had me spellbound, and I’m glad you pointed out some of the other players’ techniques and musical structures -I would not’ve heard any of it :) You absolutely HAVE to listen to her song ‘My Mind’, live on Sofar (link below). It’s raw and captivating, and in that song she’s taking her vocal wizardry to yet another level 🔥❤️😱🔥 Thanks for yet another stellar reaction and analysis 👍🙏

I first heard Yebba on a cover of John Mayer's 'Gravity' with Clark Beckham. Very worth the listen. Also love her doing 'My Mind' but this song is my favorite of hers. This is a singers singer. ❤
Nice pick by Petra! Never heard of Yeeba either, but not surprising as there are sooooo many artists out there. Using that slide on guitar can make playing standard notes a bit difficult as that slide finger is the primary one used for bending notes and making runs, so often you will see it get casted off during full leads. The muted tones went all around, from bass to drums to guitar, making that primary little run sound so good. I might have liked a bit of lead guitar work, but then I always want some lead guitar, lol. Great voice, and I think I might have even liked a bit more of that scratchy blues feel versus the high tones, but she can certainly hit both of them!
Glad you liked it Guy and found a new artist 🙂 There is more to discover. Can recommend the song Stand from Tiny desk concert. However, not an artist with much lead guitar… 🙃😁
@@petraljungberg Just listened to Stand. Quite a nice song, but I did feel she left out some emotion in it, maybe a bit less power than she could have sung. With that said, the strings, back up singers, etc. were all nicely incorporated into the song. She certainly is capable of choice little vocal runs! Thanks :)
Yebba ( Abbey backwards - a nickname given to her by her mother) is from West Memphis Arkansas. She grew up singing in the church where her father was/is a pastor. She was Chance the Rappers BGV on an SNL and from there she grew. Her performance of My Mind ( SOFAR: songs from a room) is perhaps one of the most gut wrenching, soul splitting performances ever.( I’ve seen it well over 200 times and it still gets me bawling.) Ed Sheeran saw it and signed her. Unfortunately it was right around the time that she lost her mother to S and, well, Yebba was wrecked. She did win a Grammy for How Deep Is Your Love with PJ Morton. EVERGREEN Live Beats is amazing as is OCTOBER SKY ( both about her mother and Yebba’s memory of her) and, like much of her album DAWN is about her mother ( Dawn) but also it’s about Yebba’s Dawn into an era of her own in which she pays tribute to her mother and her memory while celebrating her own personal “ new day”. Tiny Desk Concert ~ a must Electric Lady Sessions ~ a must No Peace with Sam Smith Gravity cover with Clark Beckham Best Part of Me with Ed Sheeran How Much Can A Heart Take with Lucky Daye
Yes, she's incredible. Amazing skill. FWIW- It's Yebba with a short E sound. ;) And I just noticed how similar the bass line is to the Beatles' Taxman bassline.
You supposed to review the singing not the musical arrangement....YEBBA is Fantastic!!!!!..the band is just a little addition to her HUMONGOUS talent...but thank you.

She’s American and her name is Abbey (Abigail) - read that the other way around and you have Yebba 🙂
She did a Tiny Desk concert on PBS a while ago. There is another of her original songs called “Evergreen” on Apple Music available on You Tube.
Thanks!
I’m all in on that reaction too. Brings me life to hear her sing
her performance of “Stand” in the NPR Tiny Desk is incredible - definitely worth a watch. Yebba is a hidden gem
She shocked me. What a voice and this song had an awesome vibe to it.
yes, definitely stand live performance and her song "my mind" as well
