Last week my coach got me trying this, and I fell back and banged my head, leaving blood on the ice. I went to hospital but fortunately it was a minor wound. I feel sorry for my poor coach, who is wonderful. I’ve since tried this two more times without my coach, while wearing my hockey helmet (I wear hockey skates), with far more success. This is scary, but it’s really good fun. I can kind of do it on either leg, and when I get into the rhythm it feels amazing, but it will need a lot of work for me to master it. Not sure I’ll ever master it as well as Kseniya.

I worked a little on both the backward and forward power pulls and I noticed backwards was actually easier for me to do nice lobes and maintain flow. Forward seems a little more awkward.

Yeah, I notice that the backwards are easier as well.

That's the next one to tackle. It is way harder than forwards.

Thank you for all the tips, can you give an advise on how can I get speed? because I'm very slow, and also my power pulls look more like a straight line, even when I trying hard to do it!

Sounds like your ankle control needs some work, no worries this is a common problem and that's why I bring up our Skating Essentials playlist. There are two things you can do that will help your power pulls. Try doing presses and rises on one foot (not power pulls). Press then straighten your knee, then press then straighten, then press and stroke onto the free foot. Press and rise at least twice on one foot, then press and stroke. Practice both feet. Make sure that you press and rise all the way, and that the presses and rises are smooth and continuous. Second, work on deep edges, really work on being comfortable with skating with your skate at a deep press. With greater ankle control you will be able to apply pressure more precisely which will enable you to skate on lobes (vs straight lines) and will be able to pull from one lobe to the other. Last thing, you have to commit to working on edges on a regular basis as that is the surest way to get them to improve.
