We live in Oklahoma, USA I rescued a puppy from a parking lot and had no takers after 2 weeks of flyers being posted. I need to leave her out while gone for a couple hours at a time. We live in the country side and have no fence. The video was very helpful as we rent and I can not put up a fence. Thank you
I would use aircraft cable and clamps instead of tying wire off, it's stronger and doesn't kink up like wire can. I would also use a pulley to attach the lead to the cable. Quick links or an adequate caribeaner will work as well as the cold shuts used in this video and are qicker/easier to remove if needed. Hope this helps.
chain unnecessarily heavy for that size of dog !!!!!! and it would of been better to attack swivels and a shock absorber, as well as a turn buckle to tighten the wire which should be coated with plastic. And defenitely need wire clamps to secure the ends not just ends turned around with pliers. Not sure why she bothered with the flimsy posts when you could put eye bolts into the fence and run the wire off the fence.
I wanted to install a similar solution but without tripping over the line. I wrapped mine around my deck, and it works amazingly. Made a quick video out of it: th-cam.com/video/HeGfDCBCaIc/w-d-xo.html

Never leave a dog tethered unsupervised or as a permanent restraint. Read the package

Shackels and Cable tensioner
Cheap and easy. Thanks.
So very helpful. What a nice video and tutorial. Thank you. :)
They sell trolley cable at Walmart that does the same thing and is more sturdy than this for large dogs.

My dog would destroy that unfortunately in 10min. Great for a little dog though
Junk and will fail eventually. I'd give it 10 minutes with my dog.
Super wrong way to install a cable dog run.
