Living in Amsterdam, it's easy to forget how many amazing little shops and restaurants there are all over the city! Chinatown is a nice little chunk of Asian food and culture to visit while exploring the Dutch capital city. Thanks for coming along with our video! - N&K
The restaurant featured in a Dutch novel and later film adaptation : "Oesters van Nam Kee" or "Oysters at Nam Kee", which they do actually serve in the restaurant. The movie is about a young guy falling in with the wrong crowd and eventually ending up in a relationship with a female "dancer". They often eat the oysters at the Nam Kee restaurant. As you can imagine with such a setup, all sorts of drama ensues. The restaurant was already one of the more popular restaurant before the book and movie, but after that it of course became a lot more well known.
Can’t wait. My husband and I will be there this July. Does the temple have the scripture carved bracelets? I purchased mine in HK wish I purchased 4 because everyone wanted one in my family.
Dude, you acted so Anglo Saxon Norwegian-Catholic-Protestant, with that no-no-no approach. But to spitting it out and then putting it back in the bag? What if your wife wanted to try the hot-sour sweets, too? Anyway, some of the HOT peppers, sauce, & dishes here in some southern states of the US are so hot, even I can't tolerate them & I grew up on very hot, spicy foods.
They weren’t hot… I love spicy…. They tasted more like what I imagine a dead rat would taste like after a week in the sun. I saved her a piece. She wouldn’t try it. 🤷
