"Southpaw Grammar" was one of my favorite albums by Morrissey. It's up there with "Your Arsenal". It has that same rugged feel. This cassette stayed in my walkman.
@James the Truther I love all kinds of music. 80s, country, psychobilly, rockabilly, Spanish, 70s, disco, punk...music I grew up listening to. But thanks anyway amigo. 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
I keep loving Morrissey, even though I sometimes go through months without listening anything from him, one single song is enough to bring all the memories back, all the hard times Morrissey helped me to keep going and all... I love this man.
Southpaw Grammar is my all time favourite Morrissey album it just sounds unique for me it’s beautiful and lyrically incredible music is magical 😁 Morrissey is my idol stunning album
I actually bought Southpaw 2 days before it's release, on the Saturday I went into the record shop and asked for it and the guy said"it isn't released till Monday" I sighed and he said but I've got the copies here and you can have one!!! RESULT!!!
really hope he plays more Southpaw songs on the upcoming tours. By far his best album. boyracer rocks and The Teachers Are Afraid of The Pupils is the most epic Mozzer song ever. Genius.
How awful, oh Lord, when morrissey shall die, oh heavens, may I, may I just die before? My death and his, bother me alike. How shall England suck without him? England, Morrissey, we love u and u know it, but they shall not remember no Cameron, Lo! Morrissey, we shall always rest together, your name shall always be. We love u, Morrissey. Take care, old son. Southpaw IS a great album... I don't think that any of the "new" tracks on the re-released edition have improved it though... Perhaps the opposite effect has been achieved.. I liked the way it was short, snappy, catchy and a bit rough around the edges... I suppose because it wasn't a commercial success the first time, they saw fit to alter it...
maybe. but it's hardly his most commercial album production-wise. and there was a lot of media attention on oasis, blur, pulp, etc around the time it was released. so i'm not that suprised it wasn't as well received as some of his weaker albums.

In terms of writing, he was at his best.
I'll buy that cassette if you still have it.

I love to quote a Morrissey lyric when people ask me where I live. I always reply with I LIVE WHERE YOU WOULDN'T WANT TO DRIVE...
