Kid’s bubble making solution in a spray bottle works well to detect air to air cooler leaks . There is a permissible air leak loss allowance on new coolers .
What does a leaking intercooler sound like? I suspect a leaking intercooler, but search for the sound in order to compare. I wont go through all this trouble without first diagnosing if this really may my problem causing the light ticking/brooming sound I recently got has another cause.
Reminds me of a sand moving in he wind . Check your rubber boots first .

If you don't have the homemade tool to pressurize the system, how would one go about doing so?
Well the real tool costs a lot , so unfortunately you would need to take your truck to get tested.
Just run your truck at 1500 rpms, it will make a bit of pressure. Take spray bottle, put some water and soap. Spray it around the edges on charge air cooler and if you see bubbles coming out, it's leaking.

I've been mechanic it for many many many years I have never seen somebody put log change on the air-to-air I mean you don't 100lb air in it you don't poop about 10 or 15 and it goes in Detroit that you got ain't going to feel no more in about 25 lb of boost anyway I've never seen somebody put long chains on the tester
Ever seen one blow off ? At 20 pounds of pressure, it can be bad . Chains are just so you do not get hurt .
Is it "inner core" or "inner cooler"
Why chain if you're only giving 15psi?
Inner cooler , At 15 psi the cap can kill you if it blows off . I have heard of other mechanics tell me that they did not chain them and they blow off and put a hole in the windshield. Just because you may not view something as being likely to happen does not mean it will not .
How was your truck running with this leak?
well when you have leaks , mainly its just a loss of power , just depends . the more pressure thats leaking the less power you will have.

@@Starkeyfamilyfixing i hear to much noise when i hook a trailer when bobtail i do not hear any thing my hoses is very tight if is ok air cooler chager what alse can cause it
Spray bottle with soapy water will show you where the leak is
The reason on the tester is sometimes these holes do not open up until your under pressure, having the engine turned off and listening is key , using a spray bottle like this can help vs engine on .
