    As someone who restocked those snack tables many many times, the dude is talking about when the lead cards were going through and the middle of the buzzz saw release that was right next to it.
    People would literally walk up and load their backpacks and grab a few body armors and sodas and move on. Which is totally cool, but also hard to keep up with when you’re there from before FPO tee to after MPO finish. Trips back and forth from the multiple U-Haul’s of snacks.
    VIP also came with exclusive (free) discs and access to follow main cards in the fairway.
    There’s always room to improve, but 4 days of tickets and unlimited snacks and drinks that you can just load in your bag and take on the course seemed like a decent deal to me 🤷‍♂️

    Step putting is like race walking, if you look on film they technically are off the ground but as long as you maintain the appearance of keeping your foot in contact with the ground it's good enough. The rule is to stop people from jumping not being a millimeter off the ground when releasing your putt.

      Just thought of this, and most likely not an original thought. Both feet need to be behind the lie on release of disc. There are way roo many borderline step putts nowadays.

    • @TheGreatestJuJu
      @TheGreatestJuJu หลายเดือนก่อน

      “Appearance” that’s the problem. It appears to be a foot fault in real time but you can only tell it’s not on video replay. Since the onus is on players in real time to call it, players shouldn’t make it too close to call. Personally, I’m for saying no step putting within circle 1 or 2. Not necessary and removes ambiguity

    • @seymourglass26
      @seymourglass26 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Most great putters aren't foot-faulting, because having the stability and power of a plant foot is 1000% better than getting 2 inches closer and throwing wildly without a ground. It's kind of basic when you think about the mechanics of how you're getting momentum behind a disc.

    Regarding "lack of score separation" Round 3 lead card B9:
    10- all pars but Issac caged his bird
    11- star frame but should have had 1 par (Luke's throw in)
    12- all pars but should have been 2 birds/par (missed C1 putts)
    13- 2 birds/pars
    14- 1 bird & 3 pars
    15- 1 bird/bogey & 2pars
    16- 1 bird/par & 2 bogeys
    17- 3 pars & 1 bogey
    18- 3 birds & 1 par
    In this small sample size there are more holes with separation than not so idk what Gannon is talking about

  • @capitalrl9632
    @capitalrl9632 หลายเดือนก่อน +8

    Here's the thing. You take out step putts, that would mean players would throw a "drive" from outside C1 to make it. On a drive, as long as the disc is released before you make contact past your lie, its legal.

    The biggest issue is the time it takes with how little rules are enforced. I hate playing tournaments anymore because there are always people on some card backing up everyone and no one on that card says anything. Pro cards are just as bad when the lead card has 3-5 holes left when chase card finished. It's kind of crazy how slow some people play and they never get penalties. Maybe a rule where you cant be more the 3 holes behind the card in front of you or you get a time warning/penalty for each hole you tee off and they are 3 or more ahead

    try realesing your putt with both feet off the ground, you get 0 power and 0 accuracy. Only advantage you get from being able to do that is that you can jump forward alot and the rules we have already prevent that. Every time someone say a pro foot faulted on their step putt they are ALWAYS WRONG when you go frame by frame. Again pros don't do that because that is simply not how you putt.

    I don't get it why people is getting stuck on that Calvin didn't move the disc on purpose to "sabotage" for...the other Calvin. And therefore he shouldn't be penalized. I know that is what the rule says, but I think it's a "dumb" (in lack of a better word) way to interpret the rule. I'm pretty sure Calvin grabbed the disc on purpose with the (unconscious) intention to move it. It wasn't like it got stuck in his hand by a freak accident. That's the way I see the rule should be read and used. So, in conclusion, he should've got a penalty stroke. But I'm not a mean guy. I don't have anything against him and no harm was done. So, I don't mind the outcome. It's not like we follow all the other rules "religiously" either.

    Gannon knows what he is doing, and intentionally abuses his card-mates by consistently exceeding the 30 second time limit.
    He will claim otherwise (of course!), but it is inconceivable he doesn't know how long he is taking, and he should be called on it every time.
    Every single person on tour knows EXACTLY how many seconds their normal routine takes. Without exception.
    Step-putters (as opposed to the legal "putt-step!") also know what they are doing.
    Chris Dickerson literally cheated his way to his USDGC victory, abusing the rule every single time he was outside the circle.
    And famously (or rather "infamously") it was our friend Paul Ulibarri who was a constant falling putter for a couple of years, until he was given so much crap off the course, that he changed his action to be legal.
    These things will ALWAYS be an issue, until such time as the TDs begin penalising not the infringing players, but rather issuing penalty strokes to the players who refuse to enforce the time or falling putt rules. Because it is very clear in the rules, that failing to enforce the rules is an infraction of the rules. And in this TD's view, failing to enforce the rules is a larger violation of the rules, than an "unintentional" falling put, or time violation.
    I use quotes above, because we must always (in normal circumstances) give a player the benefit of the doubt, and that they have made a mistake, rather than tried to cheat.
    It is truly baffling that any pro player doesn't instantly know that a player's lie unintentionally interfered with simply gets placed back where the group agrees it was - with no penalty. That is a fundamental rule in disc golf. It's the exact same scenario as if a dig picks up your disc and wanders off with it. Or a spectator picks a disc up.|
    Edit: so-called "Marksman" baskets are the dumbest disc golf idea of all time. We already aim at the smallest target - a single chain link.
    But, if you like seeing top pros repeatedly miss putts from 5-metres, then yeah - they're great.
    Have a look at the horrendous Colorado event several years ago when they switched to Marksman baskets for the final round. It was an absolute disaster, and the worst thing I have ever seen in disc golf. A "Marksman" basket does not and can not make you a better putter. Period.

      I'm not claiming they know the rules but this scenario is alot more complicated than you think. Calvin did ¨intentionally¨move the disc, but the question is if they should rule on the intention of simply moving it, or the intention of knowingly moving heimburgs. disc. Basically if they should go with 810 A or 810 F, and they went with A in the end. This and because they play for thousands of dollars I don't blame them for wanting to be 100%, and neither should you.

    • @rodeo_cwboy
      @rodeo_cwboy หลายเดือนก่อน

      The rule in effect is 810. A person cannot honestly say he did it with malicious intent, which is the reason for that rule. Yes, "picking it up" is intent, but not to affect another player.
      As for people who make these judgment calls and think they are all wise, show they do not know the rules.. my favorite is the blade of grass. As a certified official, multiple A tier and premier tier events under my belt in 15 years, also a member of focus groups for previous rule committees, I have seen and dealt with the rules and the proposed "spirit" of the rules.

You can clearly see at the point of release her toes are over the line. she also followed through falling forward due to the ball of her foot being on that edge, and we all know that feeling

      He did ¨intentionally¨ move the disc that's true but we both know he did not intentionally take heimburgs disc. Alot of rules are interpret by the group, and here they went with 810 Interference A instead of 810 interference F. You can always fake your intention about anything, but it's up to the group to interpret that intention. Your ¨So if I miss a putt¨ example is so stupid I don't even know what to say. You can try and make your case ofcourse but the group has to agree with you, and in your example they obviously won't.
