As a kitchen refrigeration tech I can agree with the smell being one of the worst ever. You’ll be smelling it for a week on your boots.

So no need to put the vent on the inlet side you know that extra part that was in the box inside the grease trap ?

It’s a flow restrictor, rated for 20 gpm. The trap is designed such that if more than 20 gpm flows into the trap its efficiency is greatly reduced. Luckily it looks like just the triple sink is connected which shouldn’t have more than 20 gpm so should be a non issue

Been to a few Asian Restaurants few back ups before. I had this same exact experience. I’m literally running my sewer machine in the kitchen under the 3-comp. Sink and they’re still in there cooking!!!🤢 Nasty sewer water all over the floor and everything!

Hi Tim. Question please. I work in a prison under UPC guidelines as a fake plumber lol. Our kitchen has everything hooked up to go straight to sewer except tilt skillet and 2 kettles. Those go to a grease interceptor outside. The garbage disposals (5) sinks and floor drains and mop basins go straight to sewer. Now the main drain always clogs. Shouldn't they have designed all that equipment to drain into the grease trap as well?

The health department and EPA should be notified.

Can the wastewater pipe from the grease trap be linked to a soil waste manhole?

Next time use the vacuum to remove the grease inside the trap. Other than that great handyman work.
