HD2 completely changed the way I saw video games going as a whole when it came out, and I actually got so excited again. To be lifted up and then have everything dashed to the ground again is devastating. Nothing is ever going to get better, it's only ever going to get worse.
People like that are just retarded because no players = no money = no more game = devs lose money. We have those in Genshin Impact and believe me, the community in this game is the worst because they are the majority.
If you think 40$ turns a studio into your personal slave you are delusional. I hate weapon nerfs just as much as anyone else but people are treating helldivers 2 like it is a 70$ AAAA game with .thousands of people working on it. I totally agree with a lot of the criticisms people make and arrowhead has made extremely questionable decisions recently. If your not having fun space marine 2 and wukong just came out and I’m sure they will keep you interested for months and when your done check up on helldivers to see if anything peaks your interest.
Those comments talking about everyone picking a role in helldivers need to play more games. Even in deep rock, every character is able to kill enemies very well. Their niches come from outside of combat abilities. (Aside from engie turrets) All classes and weapons should be able to kill hoards equally well so that no one feels bad picking it. Deep rocks lore is literally underpaid and underfunded dwarves working for an abusive company. You have to buy your own ammo for gods sake. You are playing as a grunt employee. On an unrelated note, I’ve been playing armoured core 6 while waiting for a good update. That’s a great example of difficult while being fun.
that's a fucking take and a half given that even in your example game not all classes are even remotely equal at killing enemies. You've obviously never played on higher difficulties as a scout when the map is swamped with swarmers (not from swarmageddon as you can prepare for that) and you've got the m1k. You can't kill effectively at all. Similar issues with some of the other weapons/classes against certain enemies. Like, genuinely probably only play haz3 at most and avoid deep dives levels of delusional about DRG game balance every class killing equally as well is a surefire way to make the game feel generic and boring. It's a stupid thing to strive for. Also AC6 isn't that difficult. Not even by AC standards. Game is very forgiving
@@roar104 nah, I play on deep dives and have a good time. Scout has lower kill power sure, but he has other tools to be able to fight them and either way can still kill enemies pretty well. I’ve seen a good scout basically be Spider-Man and avoid everything. I don’t have the skill to do that though, so I just play engie and driller. Like I said, armoured core 6 is fun while still being difficult. The fact that it’s so forgiving makes it less frustrating to play. The loop is also different from other ac games with it being a lot more timing based rather than raw dodging due to the way its animations work. You can’t shoot while quick boosting, which sucks when you use rapid fire weapons, and the stagger bar makes bursting down opponents the most viable strategy and also makes tank builds way less viable.
@@roar104 if you're concerned about swarmers while using an m1k bring cryo pod zhuknovs (I think thats what the twin smgs are called? It's been awhile) It offsets the downside, or you could use thorns, or cryo nades, cryo crossbow bolts, Tesla crossbow bolts, bug zapper also works pretty well for swarmer control. Scout is _disadvantaged_ against swarmers, but by no means is he defenceless. If you're struggling with swarmers you might want to incorporate one of these things into your build, Or alternatively just stick near the engineer or driller if you don't have/want to use any of the above options.
@@elfireii328 you were specifically talking about killing hordes equally as well. Scout absolutely can't do that. Engie can't either as there's no sustain like driller and gunner have. MB on assuming reddit tier player (haz3 max) as it did sorta seem like that. Probably was uncalled for. Point is though, even in DRG there's huge discrepancies in killing power depending on the class, weapons they have, OCs they have, and enemies they're facing. if everything kills just as well as everything else why even bother having options at that point? Make everything good at the role it's supposed to fill. Much better way to balance stuff AC6 is good fun though for sure. Would suggest trying out anything from 4-VD if you can emulate them or find a copy. Almost every game in the franchise is great
It's like we're playing Frostpunk here, Helldivers Edition. We are the residents shivering in the sheer cold that is their questionable decision making.
Speaking of which, Steampunk 2 is soon out. But yeah I am not hating on the game, nor am I playing it actively. Just sleeping on it while playing other stuff.
@@itsunofficial I'm just gonna say it. That just a stupid question, can't stick around and see if the games gets it shit together and get back to the way it once was? Just because i or many no longer play it don't mean we totally given up on it.
While people still "hate" it, ie they are complaining, at least they still care. Once people give up and don't even care anymore, then the game will truly be dead.
realism that only alters a player's weapons and not hostile forces isn't realism, it's a nerf that can't be properly justified by the devs. they made diff 10, and it's a sweatfest with the railgun shieldgen all over again; I personally love that the autocannon isn't ideal for 100% of the bot mission, but is still very VERY competitive in ttk while leaving room for the railgun's oneshot potential. it's a fun level of difficulty, aside from the usual issue of bots preventing actions unless you have shieldgen active. however, the devs are coming off as crybullies that don't want their install base to have fun atm; until they provably unfuck the game and make proper balancing passes, such as massively reducing the effects of and preventing aimpunch from stopping stim animations, prevent enemies from seeing you through walls, fix the glitched as shit sunken colony attack mechanics on the impaler, or just outright drop the 'rEaLIsM' argument from all future updates, I'm not opening the game again. it's the biggest piece of dogshit i've seen in a while.
Agree with this 100%. The "realism" bullshit never made sense, not when our characters continuously flop around and get stunlocked to oblivion due to stagger yet enemies aren't subject to the same shit. They should really get rid of the guy in charge of the balancing. He might do the same shit like he did to Hello Neighbor where he just ups and leaves as soon as the game went to shit.
Yeah when I saw the update with stronger enemies, more missiles, more armored bugs, I rolled my eyes. Just an update that exasperates the problem the game has.
Autocannon is literally the best weapon for every mission for bots. The only thing it gets outperformed on is destroying tower turrets, tanks, and fabricators because it can't kill them from any angle, but it can still get the job done. The only thing that comes close is the sniper...
>Devs dont owe me yes they do, Helldiver 2 isnt a F2P game, i paid for it and if they manage to (they did) ruin the fun of the game (by nerfing everything), they owe me at least the fun of the game back, as in revert the nerfs
Yea are we too successful? Are we rolling hordes over to the point where it's boring & we're leaving? No? Then STOP NERFING. Jesus christ I want to fight not run reload run reload
Legit I’ve pondered if a developer bait and switching their customers by intentionally ruining the game after release is valid enough reason for me to ask Valve for a refund and hope I can actually get it. AH doesn’t deserve a penny from anyone if this is how they treat their communities.
When you buy a live service game, if the devs are able to actively make the game worse (in your opinion, granted most for he community agrees) you should be allowed to get a full refund at any point, or at least they should be legally required to allow you to pick and choose to revert to a previous game version and play it with full functionality.
there have definitely been more buffs in the game than nerfs, you're just only focusing on the elements that leave a negative impression, which I suppose is just human nature I guess.
its a slow paced methodical tactical team based shooter with the environment, time limit, and enemies of a fast paced action horde shooter. It's contradicting game design and it makes everything the developers do look schizophrenic.
This is why I'm convinced that they game they released that was wildly popular, was done completely by accident. They tried to make one game, ended up making another and then have spent the last 5 months trying to turn the good game int whatever it was they wanted to make instead of understanding why the game was successful in the first place. If they just don't care about player counts and want to make a game that appeals to a tiny niche like the first one, that's fine. However, the players that came for what the game was at release are justifiably upset and have been moving on.
@@PRC533 the worst part is how they got split on what they wanted to do. Honestly, if they had stuck to their guns and made the game they originally wanted and further conveyed that. This game would be doing a lot better community wise and maybe even better than right now with player counts going sub 10k.
ArrowHead isn't running the game into the ground. That's exactly the kind of claim this TH-camr is talking about, and which I've warned various helldivers about for months. You're catastrophizing and exaggerating as part of a bandwagon, rather than expressing cogent criticisms weighed against positives. Keep in mind that humans tend to weight negatives more than positives, unless taught to do otherwise. The ratio is roughly 5:1 for most people (it takes five positive experiences to outweigh one negative). And now that you know that, make sure to keep it in mind even outside video games, so you don't put too much emphasis on minor negatives. This used to be widely spoken about, and coined such idioms as "Count your blessings."
I'd like the devs to explain how going to war with 4 mags is "realistic". If I went ANYWHERE outside the wire with only 4 mags, I'd be in some serious trouble.
The realism argument for this game has always baffled me. We are fighting big bugs and robots, wouldn't our weapons realistically be designed to kill specifically big bugs and robots as fast and as efficiently as possible? That is why we, in real life, have handheld weaponry and machines that are strong enough to wreck TANKS. The realism the devs hide behind is just a straight up lie
@@AdamantPetra I agree here, we are carrying anti-personnel weapons in many cases that have killing power against human targets, especially pistols, smg's and assault rifles. Shouldn't our loadout be more tailored to the enemies we are fighting? Robots that are metal death machines and bugs more heavily armored than most if not all big game that existed to hunt on earth? We are bringing way too low firepower for the given enemy forces. I would understand if this was first contact, but at this point, hasn't super earth been fighting these enemies long enough to make weapons that are effective against these enemies?
The breaker spray and pray has 8 mags the breaker incendiary has 25 bullets per mag and the spray and pray has 26 bullets a mag but for some reason you can carry 2x the amount of mags with the spray and pray
I love the game. I know what it's capable of and I want to see it achieve its potential. I voice my disappointment when I see it move further in the wrong direction.
it hasn’t done one thing to move forward since it launched….all it’s done is take away things or re add them back after community feedback. this game is the definition of 1 step forward 2 steps back
@@AKIRA-oz5cg no you aren‘t addressing anything particular just „hur dur dem nerfs mane“ sure that‘s one aspect but that‘s being already fixed, i am pissed too that they couldn‘t have done it right. but hating on it like ohdough said does nothing and doesn‘t even improve it. take a break, there are plenty of good games out there like black myth wukong and the upcoming space marine 2
Former CEO is on record saying they actively ruin the game, because according to him landing shots from far away or killing things efficiently is not what "Storm troopers" can do and he doesnt want players doing it either. After Pilestedt stepping down to the devs promising non nerfing changes, after 2 months of waiting all we got was... more nerfs. Their brains are simply wired wrong, they physically are incapapable of understanding what makes the game fun for people. Their mentality is to actively ruin the game for people based on graphs. Unless some higher ups knock them on their heads, they will kill their own game. They could have *easily* gotten game of the year and they ruined their golden goose, because they just cannot understand what is fun.
@@roar104 Vacation time is a non factor as is the timeframe. They promised a different route for patches since people were already sick of everything getting nerfed. And all they could come up with is more nerfs, one buff to revert their original nerfs to the Slugger but then more nerfs to compensate for their nerf reversal.... Their brains are just wired wrong, and they are unable to accept they are wrong. Also he elected a new CEO, which sounds like an AI and gives about as factual answers as one. On top of, if some devs are on holidays and there are no people who can substitute for them, its just more proof they have no idea how to run a company. But that was already proven for them needing this long to whine about how testing updates is super duper hard, and then being told what a QA department is and realizing that they need one.
We have gotten more buffs than nerfs since the promise. The only really meaningful nerfs since then were the flamethrower (which sucks, I agree, but I dont think they fully understood how bad a nerf it was since they noted it in misc) and the breaker incendiary (which they specifically took steps to not reduce firepower to help keep it powerful, still not great but it's gotten better). In the meantime we've seen gatling barrage, strafing run, machine gun turret, and several others gain actual use cases and now I see them in the field. The biggest actual nerf was the inclusion of new enemies limiting viable options. But these are new, so I expect kinks, especially with most the team on vacation. I mean, the nerf to impaler ragdoll has already made thinks feel much better. Yes they've made questionable decisions, but there has clearly been a shift for the better that so many people are overlooking.
@@clay180 Nope. As someone who likes to troll there from time to time, there are full. on. deepthroating demons in the discord. Justifying player dropoff, inventing reasons for why players leave, desperately trying to compare other non live service games etc, just to justify what is happening, ALL while wanting more nerfs like the commando nerf to happen. So no.
Not entirely true, they have buffed some weapons (some stealth buffs) and nerfed gunships making more weapons viable in terms of ttk. It doesn't help level 10 is damn hard and we definitely need more fire power. Part of the problem is increased patrols and gunship patrols, sometimes there is nowhere to run.
@@Kittonwythe buffs they make are often "nothing buffs" that either amount to nothing significant and/or often do absolutely nothing to solve the actual problem with said weapon or aspect. Regardless, the "buffs" they've done do not at all offset the completely unjustified countless nerfs they've made to the players. Not a single need to the players in this game so far was justified at all.
@@fire_drake12.arc.24as someone who is still livid about what they did to the eruptor, that nerf was kinda needed. It was putting out shrapnel in the same level as the air burst rocket. That’s too big for a primary, however the solution wasn’t to remove shrapnel from it altogether. I think the solution was to make it have the shrapnel of the frag grenade instead but here we are.
Ppl don’t hate the game they are frustrated and tired of the devs that are behind it and keep ruining things, this is a weird cope/defense from somebody else frustrated with the game And frankly I’m exhausted with these constant controversies, the devs and especially the community and this weird war the haters and the glazers are trying too fight, I took a break after the original eruptor nerf and took a look at some content when the new update dropped only to find it’s exactly the same situation
If you take the time to learn about the devs, you'd know this game's chalked. I've gotten enough tid bits of information about them over the past couple of months; and after watching the Nordic games conference, it became painfully obvious. Come back after their big "60 day plan" and see if things improve. Idk why this guy now chooses to glaze over the real root cause of all the issues: it's the devs. It always was them. I can't tell if the devs are just simply sabotaging the game on purpose, or they're completely incompetent...
@@LordVader69420 that’s sad too hear I only joined at hd2 launch and took a big break so I figured it’d only go uphill hopefully they can after those 60 days but I had no idea they had a record like that
@@BetarayBillLover what he says isn't totally true. The game would be in a much better state if they didn't have a monetary contract with sony to release the game. No one would be complaining right now if they had the weapon/stratagem upgrade system in on launch like helldivers 1 had.
The hate is warranted. I played with some buddies last night who haven't touched the game in months. They were frustrated the whole time because of how inconsistent the enemy health pools were on the bug side. That, and the constant technical bugs.
Were the health pools inconsistent or were they just missing? Shouldn’t have a “health pool” issue if you’re hitting the right spot only saying this cause I’ve never had those issues if I was hitting the weak points
Normal charger shrugged off two Recoiless to the face and an impaler did that, plus an Orbital Precision Strike and some grenades to the soft bit. Either hitboxes are broken or all anti-tank munitions got a sleeper nerf.
I was wondering about that. Had bile titans dance like a ballerina for no reason once a 500 got thrown in their current movement path. The Michael Jackson slides by 50 ton behemoths is a thing of beauty. Especially when your helldiver is tripping over blades of grass and getting hung up on pebbles, unable to move.
I guess arrowhead wants a giant praying mantis, they are lighting fast, accurately predict trajectory with almost 100%, and if they were the size of a terminid we would be doomed. Only exception is that they are lone hunters, so probably NOT realistic to put that kind of killing power on a bug who lives in a swarm.
@@danieljacksonofficial5107 Oh yeah, I am coming from looking at the bugs as a hivemind. They all move like bugs, you walk left they all walk left. if they were individual thinkers? I would be more okay with the praying mantis approach. also since they are part of the "general" bug force, they aren't "special" units like Stalkers
I feel like people who say this is because the CEO said it’s better for people to care than to lose interest. They are trying to be cringey rebellious edge lords. If people really had apathy, then they wouldn’t be talking about the game and move on already.
Blame the devs for that, it's not the player bases fault. When things are good/the game is in a healthy state people will be positive and meme and. Whatnot like on release but when you ruin the game with bad updates, as well as tons of frustrations, bugs and performance issues then people aren't gonna just keep being positive and glaze the devs and that's on AH
- Get chased by a behemoth, a spore charger and a regular charger (which if you are on diff 10, will just be another behemoth) - Kill one of them by miracle while getting chased by the entire soviet army "Oh look, the cap for heavy enemies isn't at max anymore, so lets spawn another one" - Repeat this for the whole mission after the first bug breach - Go to forums to see if other people are having this problem Glazers in those forums: "oH peOple don'T wAna dEal with tOugh enEmies? Hell at diff 8 I had a single bug breach launch 3 bile titans at me within 30 seconds, I dealt with them, but it sure as hell wasn't fun seeing 3 skyscrapers suddenly start chasing me cause a big the size of a shoebox screamed for help. And sure the game is meant for more players, but if your AT guy suddenly has to leave you're just screwed? 9/10 times it's best to have a jack of all traits build, just to make sure you survive, if you get seperated or if someone leaves. The same glazers will praise nerfs of equipment that supports the jack of all traits type build cause it makes the game "too easy", saying "it doesn't make sense to bring anything else when this thing is just too OP! I'd just be making the game harder for myself for no reason". This I heard in regards to the flamethrower nerf, but honestly, I rarely used the flamethrower pre-nerf due to the range limitations, and the same did my buddies, and whether one person was using the flamethrower or not we never even felt the difference. I also frequently use stratagems I rarely use for the fun of it, like it's not that difficult to try something new. Nerfing the "jack of all traits" build has two consequences: 1. it makes the higher difficulties harder for lesser experienced players 2. it makes higher difficulties more painful with randoms And it's really self explanatory why that is... If you have to rely on other people who either can't do the job properly, or don't get the idea, you become spiteful towards them instead of the game, cause you ALL get punished for it. Quit saying "it's popular to hate Helldivers 2" cause it should be "It's REASONABLE to hate Helldivers 2" Over the last two months it really feels like they have only been ruining playstyles, breaking promises and pretending to listen to the community. THAT is a REASONABLE reason to hate. Edit: oh.. And don't even get me started on how a game where the fun-factor is in combat, you get punished severely for engaging any patrol, basically promoting stealth.
Also when they buffed the bile titans so they couldn't be twoshot anymore by rockets as an hidden change, and another recent bug that makes rockets not be able to oneshot anything aside of chargers (not even scout striders die to them now)
_"3 bile titans"_ That's an incredibly horrifying story, you must have PTSD now? What does your psychologist say? Hopefully something along the lines of _“play a cooperative game as a team instead of running off alone to the other side of the map and then 3 titans won't be a problem for you”._
@@Mr_Bo6r what are you on?, 3 bile titans even with 4 players is still tough to deal at once and they are never by themselves, like sprinkle in there 4 chargers, 2 impalers then an hoard of hunters from random patrols and now will your team able to deal with it just because they are around?
A lot of the community was riding high on copium, and ran out. And then when it ran out, they crashed with crushing nihilism. Thank you for being rational and speaking your opinion clearly the whole time. It's funny how you went from one of the most pessimistic Helldivers 2 CC, to one of the most optimistic CCs without changing your stance much.
I definitely agree that his stance being unchanged is refreshing. However, there are a few of his opinions that get on my nerves. Like wanting less emphasis team work necessity and objection to players picking role sets to play in random matchmaking. If he has a problem with that stuff for certain gameplay realities. Then he should instead ask those aspects be changed to better allow team play reliance and load out roles. Rather he just criticized them as something that doesn't have a place. All I can say is that I'm glad he's not the one in control of the game, because those would be deal breakers for me if gone.
Remember when we used to be happy to wait democratically… Remember, the endless role-playing? I can’t believe it’s gone and I can only pray it comes back. But I’m not a religious person, I know it’s never going to be the same
@@OhDough How the devs didn’t realise there has to be a bug or glitch causing the issue with railgun when they can cross reference how many shots according to weapon and titan head health it would need is mind boggling. It reeks of incompetency and spreadsheet balancing

For me, I don't hate Helldivers 2. I just don't agree with the developer's grunt fantasy and making weapon DLC that I'm not exited to buy or grind. Why would I grind a game when there's nothing to grind for other than for completion's sake? I'm not excited to buy your bad guns that feel horrible to use. Just make them better and more appealing and have me grind for at least something that motivates me. Give me a carrot, the stick's already there.
To be honest i played because it was fun even after capping resources, now it is a freaking dreg when the game works right that is(not crashing), when you fire the game and it crashes 2 times before you can even enter a single mission it basically saps your will to play.
Keep doing it Dough!! You the man! Also, the group calling people “crydivers” while we’re trying to keep the devs honest is so cringeworthy, no one is asking for a walk in the park. We’re asking for reasonable, arguably far superior changes to problems the devs are introducing. There’s a reason the player base is dropping off UNUSUALLY FAST for a game. It’s directly correlated to the dev’s bad decisions. When they buffed weapons, they saw the largest influx of players the game has ever seen. It’s not rocket surgery!
Man I kinda agree with that one guy. Pile is yapping and yapping, he agrees with every feedback and teases new content all the time yet nothing is making it into the game.
Yeah, it kinda feels like he's either not being honest, or he just has way less clout/control over the team than he lets on. It's especially egregious because a lot of the feedback could be addressed with super simple numbers adjustments. The sort of stuff I'm pretty sure _I_ could do within a day if they let me into the source code, even having never seen it before.
Maybe if it became a popular opinion when it was once a well defended game maybe that says more about how the game was handled compared to the playerbase response. When it first came out people understood that arrowhead was a small company that made an absolute gem in a stagnant market, when the first few patches an bugs fixes came out we were very understanding about it, they have a bigger playerbase and their game took off faster and louder than they expected it to, but time and again they would fumble the updates and patches and calling meta weapons "bugged" leading to them becoming museum pieces of a forgotton war (the first automaton push when we liberated melevelon creek). The point im trying to get to is that instead of them taking the power fantasy they gave us and letting us run with it they have have been chopping and dicing everying we ever cared about in helldivers to pieces and they are changing our love of liberation to a hate for a falsely advertised game where we were supposed to be defenders of freedom and actually made clusterfuck of random enemy spawns and cheap one shot deaths. Arrowhead, hear your playerbase with actions not words, for your playerbase is a rare type that craves a solid pve game and what you guys initially delivered, its not popular to hate helldivers its hard to love what its become
exactly, at the start people were willing to give them the time and chalk it up to "still new game" they hopefully fix it later, no they kep doing the same thing again and again the first three were a given after that you just not listening to feedback or taking in players numbers dropping after every bad patch. People are just tiered.
The explanation is simple. Dough has his threshold of bullshit he's willing to tolerate (up to AC getting nerfed). Other people, like the current doomers, have already had their own personal threshold of tolerable bullshit crossed, and are out of hope to give.
The friends list is still broken!!! It barely works on PS5. None of the names are properly highlighted to actually send a request. Often the recent players that you play with aren't on the recent players list to add. So adding PC players is impossible unless you ask for their code and enter it. Also when people send me friend adds from PC they don't show up under my friend request list, It's just blank sometimes as if they didn't send a request. So then when the game crashes from a bug the next game no-one gets to meet or play with each other again. It's happened countless times now over 6 months. Basically if you meet anyone cool you'd like to play with you have to jump immediately into trouble shooting adding and getting people's discord information incase you get disconnected before adding. Extremely annoying for an online co-op shooter and a problem that has plagued this game since the first patch. It's literally been 6 months and it hasn't worked properly.
And a game that has even one aspect of its mechanics that does not work, is an unfinished product that should not be sold to the public until it is completed. Oh, but let's hide behind the "live service" excuse. 🙄 Absolute ripoff 🤡
6:47 "insane speed" Yeah, when it comes to nerfs... And the Spear, DOT mechanic and MANY other things would like to have a word with this guy. You have to weight the cost/benefit ratio for yourself. The engine is holding the game back. I think if the devs had gone full throttle on this game with updates and they did not f*** the game up, there would be a lot more technical issues and a content drought. Ironically, we already hit that latter part like 2 months ago, and every patch is full of game breaking bugs and glitches...
Don’t forget the unnecessary nerf to the quesar cannon. Adding a longer cooldown for…what? They released a new weapon and it had a high use rate? I think the thing that gets me is that automatons shooting through walls is a problem and it’s not even acknowledged. I stopped playing when ncaa came out and I haven’t seen a reason to come back yet…and I was checking the global map daily to see the progress we were making. That’s another factor. The galactic war is meaningless. Back and forth on the same maps with very little mattering…when we first started it did actually feel like we were in a major war and our efforts meant something. We literally knocked out the automatons. Now? Whatever the game master wants is going to happen. We’re never allowed to push the envelope or vice versa because they can just change the decay rates at will. I wanna redownload this game at some point but who knows 🤷♂️
I like that the "lower the difficulty" goobers could just as easily handicap themselves if they actually wanted more of a challenge. But they never seem to think of that 🤔
@@TheEthizle Well a lot of the complaints people have is as simple as lowering the difficulty, some is constructive criticism and logical but not every comment

@@nateg3417 I would be absolutely fine with this approach, on one condition - They should stop gating content behind difficulty. For example, you will basically never get to see the new enemies and the new outpost objective from the latest patch unless you play on max difficulty. They needn't be common, but they could at least occasionally show up as "minibosses" on lower difficulties. The same goes for map/objective generation in general. The extended sub/side objectives on level 9 are cool to interact with, and I wish they were playable in a less annoying context.
I'm apathetic to the whole game nowadays, not actively playing anymore, never participated in the reddit or the discord, just observing quietly from the sidelines. If AH can turn things around then I could see myself playing again, otherwise I'm probably gonna be playing 40k or grinding the mh wilds demo whenever that comes out.
soon september, you will be given miracle armor and magical weapons, there you will feel all your incredible power that will help you win, leave the coordinated teamwork for helldivers.
Dude has no concept of self awareness. Makes vid after vid hating on and complaining about the game and is now doing a surprised pikachu that people are hating on and complaining about the game.
Early on, I was definitely one of the people that thought the Railgun was overpowered. Unfortunately, that was because of the bug that existed that allowed it to 1-shot bile titans. Once we found out that it was a bug though, I still thought it shouldn't go back to 1 or 2-shotting bile titans, because it doesn't make sense to use the AT weapons if you get 20 shots and requires no backpack. It should take 5-6 shots, imo.
I think what bugs me is that people who were fervent lovers of the gamer turned unto soiteful haters. There is good reason and i think the Devs need to have a formal communication because they come off as whiny with their recent comments.
if it’s popular to hate hd2 it’s thanks to the devs balance philosophy. if spacemarines permanently takes a lot of players from hd2 then it’s also thanks to the devs. sorry if that’s not “productive” or whatever
I have consistently played on diff 9, they have consistently made it more difficult, making bots have better aim, more and heavier enemies standing on POIs, new enemies all while nerfing our weapons, they've completely nuked the flamethrower, all while making small changes in the background that make it harder, not reporting them in patch notes or dev posts, it's insane
I honestly wouldn't care less that they have been buffing the enemies, but when they nerf the guns and they are no longer fun to use or even viable in most cases, the game loses variety and is no longer enjoyable. Idk why this is such an alien concept to most dev studios. Nerfing guns does not make the game more fun. It really is that simple. Unless the gun is completely OP and makes everything else worthless, of course. There is always a proper balance to be had, and with PvE games it should be easy to figure out. All you have to do is PLAY THE GAME, and you'd know...
@@Mr_Bo6r10 is the hardest, I'm not complaining about the difficulty, I'm complaining that they are continually making it harder each patch for us, I have no issue with adding extra levels for players that want the challenge but stop making the preexisting difficulties harder without telling anyone

realizing and understanding that the devs want the helldivers to not be an elite team of soilders but instead be looked at as storm trooper/ fodder, makes all there decisions make since. they are purposely nerfing guns because they themselves do not view helldivers as strong. they want you to purposefully feel weak and outclassed. what they don’t realize because they are smooth braine is NOONE wants to play a game like that….people play video games to escape reality and experience a power fantasy. they want to make a game that fits there BS ideology but no player wants that…since when does the process of making a video game put the developers first and not the players….
Bro they've literally nerfed every gun into the ground, you're acting like people are saying the same thing for no reason. They turned the fucking r-36 into a popcorn gun because, "muh friendly fire". The game deserves the hate the same way it deserved the praise.
They nerfed the railgun because of a 1 shot bug. They nerfed the eruptor because it shot out stratagem explosions and they nerfed the ammo of the incendiary breaker. They buffed every other weapon, Including incendiary breaker (which was one of the worst guns). You seem very uninformed and lost in the hate.

@ohdough. I gotta say, several months ago I felt like you complained too much. You made comments at times in follow up videos that you were trying to keep from complaining too much but still were gonna critique, and I think you’ve done a great job overall doing that. There are some content creators that I’ve had to quit from their views being too doom and gloom, but even though I don’t always see things the same way you do I find your insights and your genuine takes as high quality. I think you’re doing great work. Keep it up man
I firmly believe that the reason why so many weapons fall just barely short of so many breakpoints is because the attachment system is taken into account. We need to ride out this phase and once attachments get released the weapon you want to work, will work.
I got absolutely slammed for criticizing the May patch that fucked up the patrol rate. I was told all the same things you read off here on this video. Then it comes out that the patrol rate WAS ACTUALLY BUGGED! You were the first content creator to bring it up, and for that im forever thankful, because i felt like i was taking crazy pills with all the flack i was getting for saying something negative. People are wayyy too quick to defend this game. They literally "balanced" this game out of my rotation. I haven't played since early June, and I have no plans on coming back until they make the game fun again. And "difficulty" doesn't bother me. I switched from Helldivers to Elden Ring and have been playing that instead. It pisses me off that they ruined something that I loved so, so much.
It's popular to call out poor decisions. We all want good games, because we play them. We all like seeing consequences of poor decisions because it forces devs to reverse those decisions or at the very least encourages other devs to makes games we want to play.
My stance is that it really seems like the dev team accidentally made an extremely fun and viral game and since launch they have been slowly making the game they originally invisioned.
People don't dislike Helldivers 2, we hate what the devs have done to the game. To pretend that a lot of the criticism and cynicism isn't justified is to just stick your head in the sand and pretend that everything is fine. The game has the potential to set a precedent in the industry that others will follow. Helldivers 2 can be one of the greatest games that's released in this decade, but Arrowhead is constantly shooting themselves in the foot. Between the devs attacking fans, to claiming the nerfs are about 'realism', to hiring/employing a head balance director that is notorious for killing 2 games in his career for the exact same thing he's doing here. It's wild to just sit there and think it's all biased due to it being popular to hate the game.
Seems to me like this guy is just trying to protect his channel ever since he took that break from HD2. That's fine and all, but it seems to me that he's glazing over some of the facts now to not seem overly negative. This video was all over the place...
Pre nerfing content is crazy I quit when they called everyone stupid for using a weapon they created. Been watching the steady down fall ever since. Nothing good has changed either its been constant nerfs and devs making fun of the players and making empty promises.
I dont think most ppl hate the game, they just very causal, got tired of dev messing the game up n uninstall it because the game havent gotten anywhere insteal is goin backwards. most moved on, some stay to watch the vids n "hate" on the game because even tho they uninstalled they still care for a bit.
Seems like people were spreading a false narrative. I can count how many times I was kicked on one hand. The only time I could see justifying kicking someone for their loadout was when they added the defend mission where you defend the rockets while they launch because on helldive it would spawn like 3 or 4 bile titans at once, for the last couple waves. If you didn't bring stuff to deal with that, you were throwing. I joined a game one time and tried to tell some guys, over lvl 100, and I was only around lvl 40 at the time, and they didn't listen. We got smoked...
@LordVader69420 I think the main thing I've been kicked for is my level. Idk if it's intimidating or if ppl think I'll be an elitist, but I can only assume.
I’ve been hating the entire time since patch 1. Slightly hated them after railgun but EAT and arc thrower made ir playable. Then quasar came out and I was happy for a small amount of time, then more nerfs and bugs and my hate has grown more and more.
Definitely agree with you on how people feel about piles. Before hd2 I played halo infinite. And if you know about halo infinite, that is enough said. 343 never really listen to the players or acknowledged many things. In the case of hd2 they interact with the community a lot more and actually take some of the feedback. This can be seen and how people wanted more armor passives after the winter Warriors warbond. So far both of the warbonds after that one have armor passives. They also added the ability to stem health for stamina. People just love to doom because hating something feels good to some people. And they love being in a circle jerk.
Today I login, play a little, sometimes when it gets boring, I just close the game. Game is in an OK state, but there's just not enough incentive to keep going. The 60-day plan is still far away from being anywhere near anything they can show. And even then, at 60 days, people WILL GET DISAPPOINTED, again, because it will be half-done, half-baked, and some things will improve, but generally, not really changing much. (The best example is the Escalation of Freedom, and so I expect the same in the next 30-60 days). A lot of things are far from feature complete - like the bot head just giving samples as placeholders, barrager tank "bug" due to unable to destroy it from the back, weapon customization, armor customizations, these are still in active development, and playtesting, polishing them will take a long time, perhaps a full year before you can even say it's remotely good, quality wise. Hence player's patience are thinning out. They can say all these things, but the reality is, they are just not up to speed. Perhaps limited by the complexities of their outdated game engine, perhaps by low morale, perhaps by devs who have very big egos, and very poor cross-communication between departments, perhaps all of these combined. Having more staffing just won't cut it, they need to change their approach, otherwise come September 9, there will be little to none PS5 players in HD2, and most players will just log off, play Warhammer, while putting HD2 on indefinite pause, yet again, until they release something, hype up for a few days, and then back to record low player numbers. I'm not saying that Game is dead, but rather, game is slowly plateauing, with no signs of recovery. Perhaps we will plateau at 5K active daily users (PC + PS5), so perhaps that's what the end state of the game will be.
I'm a level 109, and I still just play level 6-7's because I like to absolutely lay down machine gun fire at squishy bugs, and use heavy ordinance on the heavy bugs. I just play to have fun with the experience I'm going for. Genuinely, I stopped listening to controversy, but hearing you honestly say "Move on if it's not what you want, and think carefully what you wish for." is something that made me think: Yeah, I still like the game for what I'm doing. It shook me out of the sad loop, thank you dude.
Congratulations for being a healthy gamer. These people probably burnt themselves out by playing the game nonstop, and the nerfs are the reason they give to themselves to think the game sucks now.
@@glaziumtck8593 nah, we are burned out by the devs and their stupid decisions i played other shit between hd2 matches, but even outside of the nerfs that were never needed, (as ohdough mentioned, meta will never go away, and you have to be a troglodyte to think so imo) not to mention that railgun, eruptor and arc thrower got nerfed due to bugs, which is just a bandaid solution to a bigger problem, apparently none of the glizzy gladiators can see that. not calling you one, just to make that clear, and to move on, next point i'd argue is the lack of progression, as after lvl, what 23 or 25, what else is there to unlock, without having to spend on warbonds or grind the super credits to get them?
@@shadowsketch926 People burn out for their own reasons. The progression isn't entirely the same as other games, but it's just slow, some may not like it, me included. I don't think it's worth abandoning the game if you still find some enjoyment in it. This is me though, you can take your break/leave if it's better for you, for your reasons. No shame in it.
And that you can just play not on max difficulty level and not whine that it's not as comfortable as someone would like it to be? Ah, if everyone understood that the maximum difficulty levels are for those who want to tear themselves in the ass from diligence and teamwork, and not for comfortable non-stressful play, the world would be a better place.
Definitely popular to hate on the game these days, but honestly its also incredibly easy to hate on given the track record over the last few months. At this point, im just waiting to see what this 60 day plan results in before making any rash decisions.
Same here, I don't really bother with the "game is dead" stuff because its really simple IMO, If I don't like the game I'll just play something else, AH makes it fun for me I'll come back. I get bored, I take a break. I don't understand why people hyper fixate on whether or not the game is dead/good or not, AH is a business and I am certain they want to make money soooooooo... they probably will try something to please fans and get players back, realistically it shouldn't be my concern whether or not Helldivers 2 succeeds or fails because its not MY game, though I admit I do feel a little cheated knowing I spent money and then the product changes, its not a fun feeling, which is which I usually stick to single player games and I NEVER preorder.

realism that only alters a player's weapons and not hostile forces isn't realism, it's a nerf that can't be properly justified by the devs. However, those same Dev members are coming off as crybullies that don't want their playerbase ; until they provably unfuck the game and make proper balancing passes. They can start by massively reducing the effects suffered and preventing aimpunch from stopping stim animations, prevent enemies from seeing you through walls, fix the glitched as shit sunken colony attack mechanics on the Impaler, or just outright drop the 'rEaLIsM' argument from all future updates, I'm not opening the game again. 300hrs of play and got kicked shortly after joining a squad because I didn't have the meta. Only happened once. In their defense, I was using the scythe for fun 😂
I don't know about popular to hate, just saying I dropped over 500 hrs into the game and it is inherently changed beyond the point of what it was when I started. The money fine, I spent more to keep myself fed, so thats a mute point. However the hours sunk in, is a loss, time is not something you can ever get back you can only lose.
Those 500 hours weren't lost. You spent them playing and hopefully enjoying them in Helldivers 2. Don't say you didn't enjoy it, because why else would you already have 500 hours in it. If you think like that, then everything will be absolute sh*t. Watching a movie ? Unless it was one of the best movies ever, then you just "wasted" 2 hours of your life. That's just a shitty way to go through life. If you enjoyed it, then you didn't waste anything.

Game is still fun, never understood the "play a lower difficulty" argument. Arrowhead just made the game less fun which is felt across all difficulties while, as I have experienced recently myself, super helldive isn't that difficult. It just isn't as fun as it was at launch.
I been an advocate for this game and the devs for the longest time, even criticized you for being overly negative. At the moment I am just apathetic, I log in once in a while, ragdolling is completely overboard, random 1 shots, bots got 100% accuracy and hit you through walls, on top of that game crashes every other mission. Most primaries are unusable, so you are stuck with the same 3 weapons all the time. The game is just not fun right now and I really hope they can turn it around... Oh yea and we need something to do with credits and medals, since ppl are always capped since level 35 pretty much. Level 140, Private Germanator, Superintendent of Supremacy
The hate isn't "popular" the devs have just asked for it in making disassociated changes that have made the game overall play worse at a consistent rate while at the same time promising change and that they're "listening" but then end up going the opposite direction.
I don't dislike Helldivers 2 I dislike what the devs have done to the game.
HD2 completely changed the way I saw video games going as a whole when it came out, and I actually got so excited again. To be lifted up and then have everything dashed to the ground again is devastating. Nothing is ever going to get better, it's only ever going to get worse.

Those comments talking about everyone picking a role in helldivers need to play more games. Even in deep rock, every character is able to kill enemies very well. Their niches come from outside of combat abilities. (Aside from engie turrets)
All classes and weapons should be able to kill hoards equally well so that no one feels bad picking it.
Like, genuinely probably only play haz3 at most and avoid deep dives levels of delusional about DRG game balance
every class killing equally as well is a surefire way to make the game feel generic and boring.
It's been awhile)
It offsets the downside, or you could use thorns, or cryo nades, cryo crossbow bolts, Tesla crossbow bolts, bug zapper also works pretty well for swarmer control. Scout is _disadvantaged_ against swarmers, but by no means is he defenceless. If you're struggling with swarmers you might want to incorporate one of these things into your build,
Or alternatively just stick near the engineer or driller if you don't have/want to use any of the above options.

Point is though, even in DRG there's huge discrepancies in killing power depending on the class, weapons they have, OCs they have, and enemies they're facing.
if everything kills just as well as everything else why even bother having options at that point? Make everything good at the role it's supposed to fill. Much better way to balance stuff
AC6 is good fun though for sure. Would suggest trying out anything from 4-VD if you can emulate them or find a copy. Almost every game in the franchise is great

realism that only alters a player's weapons and not hostile forces isn't realism, it's a nerf that can't be properly justified by the devs.
they made diff 10, and it's a sweatfest with the railgun shieldgen all over again; I personally love that the autocannon isn't ideal for 100% of the bot mission, but is still very VERY competitive in ttk while leaving room for the railgun's oneshot potential. it's a fun level of difficulty, aside from the usual issue of bots preventing actions unless you have shieldgen active.

it's the biggest piece of dogshit i've seen in a while.

Even if its F2P they still owe you for your time and also microtransactions
there have definitely been more buffs in the game than nerfs, you're just only focusing on the elements that leave a negative impression, which I suppose is just human nature I guess.
its a slow paced methodical tactical team based shooter with the environment, time limit, and enemies of a fast paced action horde shooter.

They could have *easily* gotten game of the year and they ruined their golden goose, because they just cannot understand what is fun.
yoooo, you mean the guy who was on vacation since just a bit after stepping down as CEO didn't work all through his vacation? Wild isn't it
Yeah seeing that presentation dashed my hopes for this game a lot ngl
@@roar104has he been on vacation for 5 months? You gotta work at some point. Vacation excuse doesn't hold up for half a year
@@roar104 Vacation time is a non factor as is the timeframe.

The bugs anticipating trajectory is fucking ridiculous. But hey it’s probably “realistic” lol

Oh and praying mantis goes for the head. They specifically eat the head first, so helldivers would absolutely be crushed.

NO, it is NOT fun to just deal with chargers ALL the time.
Nerfing the "jack of all traits" build has two consequences:
1. it makes the higher difficulties harder for lesser experienced players
2. it makes higher difficulties more painful with randoms
And it's really self explanatory why that is... If you have to rely on other people who either can't do the job properly, or don't get the idea, you become spiteful towards them instead of the game, cause you ALL get punished for it.
Quit saying "it's popular to hate Helldivers 2" cause it should be "It's REASONABLE to hate Helldivers 2"

The main problem is it isnt…. Its been a rather gradual decline by the graph
It says something about the awareness of players who didn't notice the trend in the first month
exactly, at the start people were willing to give them the time and chalk it up to "still new game" they hopefully fix it later, no they kep doing the same thing again and again the first three were a given after that you just not listening to feedback or taking in players numbers dropping after every bad patch.

2 shotting titans to the head was so fun even if it was a bug
realizing and understanding that the devs want the helldivers to not be an elite team of soilders but instead be looked at as storm trooper/ fodder, makes all there decisions make since. they are purposely nerfing guns because they themselves do not view helldivers as strong. they want you to purposefully feel weak and outclassed. what they don’t realize because they are smooth braine is NOONE wants to play a game like that….people play video games to escape reality and experience a power fantasy. they want to make a game that fits there BS ideology but no player wants that…since when does the process of making a video game put the developers first and not the players….
@@kato093 Glazzer spotted.
no, your just a hater who is here because its popular to hate according to Mr. youtuber. you just say the same things everyone else says. Mr youtuber says so.
@@kato093 you gave two good examples but stopped at 1 which had no justification. While you shit on OP for being uninformed, you blatantly glazed over the fact that there was no reason to nerf the breaker other than the baffling reason that it was seeing 30% more usage compared to the other guns. They could just fix the bugs, not make the guns near useless.
@@kato093 they nerfed arc thrower as well. That's actually unusably bad in it's current state
I like how the video starts with slapping bile titans from across the map. Unironically most fun the game has ever been.
True
Some bugs are really fun.

Keep it up man
If Alexus is still working on HD2, Then im moving on. Space Marines 2 will succeed HD2
can they change it so i stop getting bored after 1 game and switching it off
I firmly believe that the reason why so many weapons fall just barely short of so many breakpoints is because the attachment system is taken into account. We need to ride out this phase and once attachments get released the weapon you want to work, will work.
Hmmm....i will return to this comment when the attachments happen. I hope youre right. I still love this game regardless
So?
It doesn't make the criticism less valid.
If everyone is hating the game then the developers HAVE to reconsider their stance
@LordVader69420 Agreed. I don't mind videos like this if they covered all the facts, but he clearly doesn't.
To this day, I had someone say "I bet you were one of the guys that used to kick ppl for not using a railgun".
Everyone using Medic Armor using supply backpack for 82 stim used per player per dive but the game is in a good states
Supply backpack nerf inbound
games dead, devs are absolutely brain dead, 10 more days brothers
devs should be put in their fucking place
I’ve been hating the entire time since patch 1. Slightly hated them after railgun but EAT and arc thrower made ir playable. Then quasar came out and I was happy for a small amount of time, then more nerfs and bugs and my hate has grown more and more.
10:18 the only things that ever got me kicked in randoms is a setup that forces everyone to play differently. And thats fair.
As a side note, can they pls rework localization confuison booser. I hate that booser with a passion
It's popular to hate the game, cause it is unpopular to play it.
Don't forget Starship Troopers in October for everyone looking to stratch that bug killing itch...
It shook me out of the sad loop, thank you dude.
well done, helldiver.
Congratulations for being a healthy gamer.
These people probably burnt themselves out by playing the game nonstop, and the nerfs are the reason they give to themselves to think the game sucks now.
@@glaziumtck8593 nah, we are burned out by the devs and their stupid decisions
i played other shit between hd2 matches, but even outside of the nerfs that were never needed, (as ohdough mentioned, meta will never go away, and you have to be a troglodyte to think so imo) not to mention that railgun, eruptor and arc thrower got nerfed due to bugs, which is just a bandaid solution to a bigger problem, apparently none of the glizzy gladiators can see that.
not calling you one, just to make that clear, and to move on, next point i'd argue is the lack of progression, as after lvl, what 23 or 25, what else is there to unlock, without having to spend on warbonds or grind the super credits to get them?
I am just depressed over how things are going on. Hard to believe they will get better, would be great though.
Swap helldivers in the title with Concord or Outlaws and you got yourself an kotaku article.
Definitely popular to hate on the game these days, but honestly its also incredibly easy to hate on given the track record over the last few months. At this point, im just waiting to see what this 60 day plan results in before making any rash decisions.
he was not out of line and was right from the beginning
I'll never hate on helldivers I'll be a helldiver till the day I die
I still play and enjoy Helldivers, and I'm rooting for Arrowhead. It's been a rough road since the beginning, but I still see potential here
Same here, I don't really bother with the "game is dead" stuff because its really simple IMO, If I don't like the game I'll just play something else, AH makes it fun for me I'll come back.

Live service games are constantly changed, nerfs, buffs, it's always a thing. Content gets added, sometimes you deal with bugs, OP weapons/items. It's the name of the live service game. I don't view Helldivers as being any more egregious than any other, actually I think they have a better morale compass and are more player friendly than most games out there.
@@B-U-T-C-H-E-RThis ^, I’ll never understand how destiny 2 gets less hate than helldivers, they literally took out half of the game you paid for and somehow nerfs are more egregious?
Bruv, you gotta stop injecting copium...
22:45 yeah just like all my friends who moved on back in railgun nerf... now i'm the only one on my friendlist still playing.
realism that only alters a player's weapons and not hostile forces isn't realism, it's a nerf that can't be properly justified by the devs.
It's a load of gobshite. Frankly, they have social media and they can read and write English, so they can understand the playerbase concerns and the knowledge that another game release, Space Marine 2, in 7 days no less that will severely impact the longevity of this game and business model. Despite what they say, they want money to flow for a couple years.

Exactly. Too many trolls following this game I'd reckon.
