Only seeing your post now! Ian Astbury is THE best vocalist I have ever heard! Also the sexiest and most beautiful man I have ever seen 😍 and still is for me! ❤ Ian knows how to entertain the audience! Love this song! He mesmerizes me ❤
Underrated? Dude, they were all over MTV! 😂 And let’s not even talk about Sonic Temple Album. 3 videos were in heavy rotation from that Fire Woman, Edie, Sweet Soul Sister. Celebration Album? Wild Hearted Son and Heart n Soul. These guys were big. Now, we’re they as huge as Guns and Metallica? No. Should they have been? Maybe. However, they got their push. Hell, they were on Gone in 60 seconds soundtrack. Magazine covers etc.Even throughout the 90’s they did good. Ain’t nobody shedding any tears for them.
Used to blast the fuck out of this song and the Electric album on cassette in the 80s. Primer 1972 Nova with stacks of speakers. Had it made then !!!!!
@@GoAway-lj7djthe Cult's music won't ever grow old! Personally for me? I still listen to their albums, yes all 11 of them. They still resonate with me even now ❤😍 I know they are not to everyone's taste, however for me they are and always will be my No.1!
I remember in 89 cruising the country side with my girl in my RX 7 tripping off our faces with this cranking out the Alpine. fucking great times, great music, beautiful girl and not caring a fuck ,how times change
Been a rocker for decades, I will be 60 this year. How I EVER missed this band all these years leaves me crazed. AMAZING! I guess better late than never!
They were huge in the 80s. At least here in LA. KROQ played them all the time. I’m 50. So many of the groups of my youth that people said they missed out on. Guess I was spoiled growing up in LA with what was then a great radio station
This was my favourite Cult song...with Fire Woman. I was so young then but i still love these songs and The Cult. Electric was a super hard rock record and the only one i found in my town of them. But when i went to live alone,my sister gave all my things away😡😪 Records too. I did so many sacrifices to buy them and i don't have any record of my loving music now. I'm very angry.
That's not the wonders of rock. The wonders of rock is how versatile it can be. So much variation within one genre. Nothing else even comes close. This may be simple but there is plenty of extremely complex rock music, made by some of the greatest musicians to ever live. It goes so far that what are really just subgenres of rock are considered different genres. Punk for instance, is really just a type of rock. Even earlier/softer metal can really come under the branch of rock if you think about it. Take Black Sabbath, they definitely pioneered the metal sound, however, if metal never caught on, they'd be considered rock
@@rowanmelton7643 Nothing even comes close?? Try exploring the classical music canon. From baroque through contemporary classical, it doesn't get any more varied than that.
This song, like many others of The Cult was on everydays menu of croatian radio-stations for youth at late 80s, when The Cult was fresh. ... and I was listening at that time ... and still today.
Heard this song for the first time during my high school years while riding along in an old friend '67 Camaro RS. Cruising down the highway with momentary bouts of hard acceleration, windows rolled down, a powerful engine revving high, exhaust amplifying what's under the hood, wind noise and the heat of a sunny day in Southern California topping off a great memory. The best part: friendship. A friendship that regrettably grew distant.
I remember driving in America in the mid 90's listening to The Cult in my car CD changer Dreamtime, Love, Electric, The Manor sessions, Sonic Temple and Ceremony
My grandmother is in this video! 🤣 Just like a normal thing growing up and not that far, like if she wasn't in a music video that would have been weird! Crazy lady!😆
I can still imagine Astbury and Michael Hutchence painting the town red with their antics back in the 80's...both great bands and frontmen...you don't get them like that now..
There is a funny story Micheal Hutchence himself told about a time he and Astbury were in his hotel room and managed taking the bathroom door and throwing it out the window, where it landed on top of a restaurant.
You must check out their Love, Electric, and Sonic Temple albums. Cult's three best albums. They ruled the rock and roll World from 1985 to 1990 with these albums.
