    Nice video of Uyo airport terminal building.
    I think you should also do a video of the MRO and taxiway. As well as touch on some other projects going on in the state (Uyo and other locations)
    The Ibom Tropicana already has plans for roller coasters, wet and dry team parks, and conference centre along side the tall hotel building and the Tropicana mall. The next governor may choose to advance those plans or involve the private sector to see it come alive as was originally designed.
    So long as the state remains safe alongside ongoing investments in infrastructure and industry (especially oil and gas), private investors (all kinds including heavy and light industry as well as tourism) will begin trooping in.
    The next governor needs to see that the seaport and complimentary Ibom industrial city kicks off. That way, the state becomes open for maritime businesses and more economic activities.
    It's possible Bua refinery could be ready by 2025/26 depending on pace of work.
    The completion of Uyo-Etinan-Eket-Ibeno dual carriageway way should help draw investors in the tourist sector to develop beach resorts around the various islands and beach at Ibeno such as we see in Lagos and Mombasa.
    More resorts could also come up around Ibom icon hotel. I think the next governor should promote that axis further with complementary infrastructure and an upscale housing scheme (similar to the upcoming Dakkada luxury estate in Uyo)

  • @nsikakessien
    @nsikakessien 2 ปีที่แล้ว +27

    Every thing in Akwa Ibom State is well thought of. If you're a tourist coming into Akwa Ibom and you want to lodge there are options for you depending on your budget. The option ranges from 5 star, 4 star hotels and below, so if you can't afford the expensive big hotels you can go for the cheap and beautiful ones in town. Today Akwa Ibom State is the centre of conference in Nigeria outside the big cities of Lagos, Abuja, etc. and that's possible because the facilities these big hotels have.
    Apart from the smart airport terminal building, there's an MRO and a Parallel Runway ongoing, and on completion, Ibom Air, Nigeria's most preferred airline will commence regional flight from this facility and Ibom Air fleet will also be maintained here as well, so it's a very good vision.
    And for those of you are worried about maintenance, I can tell you that this Airport is more than 12 years now since it was opened in September 23, 2009 and since then hasn't been closed down at any time except during COVID lockdown when all airports were shutdown. So for the past 12 years this airport has been operated and maintained by the state government, so I can assure you that maintenance won't be a problem.
    Akwa Ibom State is the first state in Nigeria to build their independent power plant (IPP), Education from Primary to Secondary School level in all public schools in Akwa Ibom State is free since 2007 till date. Akwa Ibom State is among the few states with modern health infrastructures in country. The state investment in industrialising the state is paying off gradually same in the Agricultural and food sufficiency sector, today Akwa Ibom grow crops that nobody believed could be grown in Southern Nigeria with the use of greenhouse technology, I'm talking about crops like Onions, tomatoes, cucumber, etc. Now the investment in the Aviation sector with complete value chain: An international standard smart terminal building, an MRO which everyone knows is a money spinner, two run ways to ensure that this airport won't be shutdown when repair works is to be carried out on the main runway and a state own Airline, IbomAir. What oil is to Nigeria is what aviation is to Ethiopia. So calm down because Akwa Ibom leaders a re visionary and they know what they are doing.

Some people that dwell in these places also complain about what they view as national investments favoring cities over towns and villages.
