Just ordered this bag. I was looking at a 5.11 rush 24, or a first tactical specialist 1 day. When I couldn’t get the 1 day in black from a website I use, I saw the tactix half day. I think a 1 day pack would be too big, and the half day specialist was too small. But the half day tactix is in between the specialist and the 1 day packs. Tactix is also the better quality series in every way.
I plan to use mine for EDC, travel, and rucking, so I got the waist belt to go along with it. I usually ruck with 30-50lbs. I wanted a bag that could do it all. I’m so happy with this purchase!

Great review LS! I've had the Tactix 1 day plus for about 8 months now. I originally bought it as BOB but I travel a lot for work and have found that it makes an excellent travel / carry on bag. As long as you don't fill it to the seams you can carry it on the plane with you. Keep it up brother, love the content.

I've had the Tactix 1 Day pack for a year. Build quality is second to none! Even bags twice the price aren't as nice. My only problem with the 1 day is that it's a little too big for an EDC so I've been using it as a BOB, so this half day looks like a great EDC pack.
FIRST TACTICALS WEB SITE OFTEN HAS GREAT SALES SO WAIT UNTIL IT GOES ON SALE IMO.

Your review - which is pretty much the only one of this pack currently on TH-cam - convinced me to get mine. Should arrive in 2 days. I already have the Rush MOAB 10 and 72 but I wanted something in between, and was torn between the Tactix 0.5 and the Dragon Egg. It seems that the Tactix is slightly better designed. The side handles pretty much sealed the deal for me.

Everyone likes to talk shit about us and then, when they need us, the like to say "where was America helping us when......." That is a nice backpack and it must be just perfect for you. I have one which is similar to the ones used by our military and I love it. I got it at the military exchange on the Army National Guard base locally. The price was right and I could not do any better for the price. The only thing I don't like is having to carry my sleeping bag and bed liner on the outside of the bag. I am going to get a tarp and good survival blanket to go inside and don't weigh much.

My only complaint about bags like this is that when you fill up the main section the front sections become next to useless because they don't add extra material for them to expand accordingly.

I'm using it as a school bag or just a day bag when I'm out in the woods or elsewhere, so I'd like to be able to remove any clips and straps when possible for a more minimal feel.

NOOO, I really wanted to buy one of these bags but they don't ship to Australia :( OK, so I might be able to get one via their UK store but OMG, they have just switched the $ for British Pounds, meaning it makes them INCREDIBLY expensive and quite a ripoff for anyone outside of the US. OK, last update, I found a supplier in Australia but the half day pack costs $230 which isnt cheap but at least this one looks of quality. Do you think its worth $220 or could you recommend something else, perhaps a global brand?
