how to save $6,960 // the best Ikea hack ever? 🤑📚👩💻

- This is the best Ikea hack I've ever found, and I absolutely had to try it because my small home office / home studio / nail rooms in desperate need of some storage space. Everything used to be on the floor but we painted, added new flooring, and installed these gorgeous Ikea bookcases that were inspired by @rachmartino (www.tiktok.com...) and the Anthropologie Fern Cabinet, just without the huge price tag. Here's what I used, make sure to measure your room and adjust accordingly:) And if you're painting the Billy Bookcases, don't get the birch because it costs more and will just get covered up, and if you're using a dark color like I am try and get the darker cabinets (the Charlotte Ikea didn't have any at the time I did this).
What You Need:
x3 IKEA HAVSTA Cabinets: www.ikea.com/u...

x3 (or more depending on your room height) Billy Extensions: www.ikea.com/u...
Drywall screws and anchors to secure it to the wall / to each other
Wood glue (we glued the Billy extensions to the shelves)
1/2 sanded plywood for the arches (we made a custom template and used the string method)

New cabinet knobs: We got ours from Lowes last year but I don't see them on the website anymore :/

This is lovely, the only thing I’d add to it is trim at the top where the shelf meets the ceiling so it gives it a more finishes/buildt in look 👌

Right?? It’s so pretty but SO far out of my budget 😭 and thank you, I definitely recommend having someone who does know what they’re doing on hand haha it was very helpful
Don't forget to anchor the book cases to the wall if possible, it makes them safer - especially if you have animals or kids around that may try to climb them
Looks great! I think adding a piece of crown molding across the top (like your inspiration pictures) would take it to the next level

How's the durability? A problem with cheap bookshelves is that they bend and get misshapen with heavy books. We don't have ikea so I don't have a good idea about the quality
I've had Ikea furniture for years. The quality is good, it's just basic design.
Going on 4 years with my IKEA which holds HEAVY paper supplies. Billy, kallax, and Alex drawes....no issues so far! Gorgeous work!!!!!
