    The 1366x768 screen means you don't need to try to load videos at 1080p. Easier on the cpu and gpu

    2 quick question!
    1. What app u use for recording?
    2.how can i get that thingy to show how much fps i have?

    • @TygoDoesStuff
      @TygoDoesStuff  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      For recording I use a capture card connected to my pc and I record the output with OBS. The overlay with fps on screen is MSI afterburner

    You can tell that you love your laptop a lot, I have one like it and I upgraded it by replacing 4GB 1333hz ram memory with a 16GB 1600hz memory usnig dual channel; besides replacing the hdd with an ssd and changing my old i5 2430m processor to an i7 2860qm it was definitely worth it; now it goes much faster and I can play some basic game and occasionally edit videos using movie maker. That is, if since the heatsink is prepared for a TDP of 35W and the i7 2860qm is 45W, I recommend that you buy a good thermal paste such as an ARTIC SILVER or a thermal grizzly kryonaut extreme 14.2 w/mk!!!!

      Yeah I love this laptop as it was the first proper laptop (actual good laptop compared to the single core machines that I had before it) the upgrads that I want to do on it is replacing the i5 with a i7 like you did and installing a ssd)

      I don't think the processor suggested by your friend i7 2860qm will play on this motherboard it is not the same 1000 series as your G6 I would tell you to go for the i7 2640m at 2.80GHz which suits your R13 motherboard very well and with 16GB ram The external plastics may look similar but they came out with the same plastics at the beginning and with the new 2000 series after which they changed the plastics.

    Man I have this laptop running windows 7 home prem and I put 12 gb of ram and it's not bad for a web browser

      As long as you give these sandy bridge laptops more than 8gb of ram they are actually pretty usable in 2022!!

      If you already have a activated version of windows 7 running mircrosoft still offers the free upgrade to windows 10 but otherwise you're out of luck sadly :(

    I have an almost similar G6-1031tx and a fancy black G6-2238sl. The former is similar to yours, with the exception that mine sports a i3-380M and a Radeon HD6470M 1GB (which HP decided to install in their idiotic dynamic switchable graphics instead of sticking to the fixed mode present in the dv6-3000 series and dv7-4000 series) but is otherwise the same as yours, design wise. (except for a anime sticker on the cover.)

      The processor you have belongs to the first generation. And your motherboard must be R -12 You could put an i7 640m with higher ram 8G

    • @TygoDoesStuff

      The graphics card is sadly un-upgradable (except if you replace the whole motherboard. The ram can be maxxed out to a total of 16GB

    • @TygoDoesStuff

      It depends which part is broken, small things like the battery, charger, keyboard are still worth replacing but if you have to replace something costly like the screen or motherboard you're better off buying a new laptop
