  • Mounting a Thru-Axle bike on a Tacx Classic Wheel-On indoor trainer requires a thru-axle adapter known as the Tacx E-Thru Trainer Axle. There are a number of options when it comes to choosing the correct axle for your bike so be sure to choose the correct one. This video covers the details and installation on a Giant TCR Disc road bike.

Any trouble shooting advice? The part at 2:00 where you lock the blue lever down doesn't work for me, it's as if the through axle is to long to fit on the trainer, even though I bought the only one available on Garmin's website.

My bike happens to use a 5mm thru axle on a Giant Anthem, I'd love to learn the reason why this type hasn't or can't be made into a trainer axle. I know the thread end screws into the frame, but my thought would be make the axle longer so it protrudes the frame and use a bolt like you did on the video. Possibly a very good reason why it hasn't been done.

@@gplama Lol... You would have to repeat your accuracy test video to spot the difference. I can't see how they can really improve it, unless their calcs and conversion factors were in error... It's just maths. However, they may have done something to the way the numbers respond to changes of load either from your legs or the apps like Zwift. For a smart controlled trainer there will be a software PID in there that they are tinkering with I guess.
