It's not that dancing is "unmasculine." It's that there's such a discrepancy between the purposes of those two forms of movement (combat and dance) that one does not normally anticipate a person who engages in one to engage in the other also.
I do agree with you to some extent, but in the case of movies and stunt fighting, it's all really just choreography and being able to remember movement and steps. Stunt fighting is probably closer to dance than real fighting. Saying that, stunt actors are also probably (or usually??) actual fighters in real life.
tintinismybelgian not really. Combat is very similar to dancing. They are both sometimes choreography and sometimes just an improvised response to what the other person does. They are only different if you are actually fighting with someone.
Drax was set up as a very "literal" character, and this choice line exemplifies his introduction as a great call back to Guardians of the Galaxy. When you think about his comment, the Pirate he is reffering to is Odin, since he has an eyepatch much like a pirate, and the angel would be Friga.
Chris probably doesn't remember me, but I was his first fanboy. I met him at Gold Gym in Venice Beach before the Thor movies, before he was super famous, and I nerded out on him in the gym with Thor questions (because I had read he had been cast as Thor). I was at Gold's Gym Venice Beach and his training partner approached me and start the nerd conversation over my Vampire the Masquerade t-shirt. And Chris was standing next to me listening to the conversation, and then I turned to him and said, "Speaking of nerdy things... aren't you playing Thor in the upcoming Thor movie?" He smiled and said with his hand reaching out to me, "Hi - Yeah I'm Thor." Then he quickly said, "I'm Chris." I loved it. So I quickly (like a nerd) said, "So is it going to be more classic Thor or more like Ultimate's Thor?" He said to me, "It actually a mix of the two." I was in nerd heaven.
The Star Trek scene is very good. I also really liked later, when Pike is talking to Kirk and he's all "your dad was Captain for 5 minutes and saved 800 lives. I dare you to do better." That's pretty real!
Oh I understood what you ment perfectly. Jesse Pinkman for fighting on the ground yes. But capes also act as a flight stabilizer, making it easier to control a heroes path in midair. That's why superman and super girl wear capes.
ZankTheGreat not exactly. While I agree, Thor doesn't necessarily red a cape, it's because the way he flies is completely different from superman and supergirl. Instead of flying like them, Thor basically just chucks his hammer in a general direction and holds on for dear life.
I'm always so happy to see a Radio 1 interview with Ali Plumb because he doesn't just ask the right questions but is also not trying to be funny or becomes disrespectful but is just a charming, friendly guy. It's quite relaxing to watch.
