Two actors from the original tv series 21 Jump Street did cameos in this movie Johnny Depp and Peter Deluise.
Those were the days. They dont make them like this anymore
There's three original cast members from the 21 Jump Street show in the movie. Johnny and Peter as mentioned previously and Holly Robinson Pete reprises her role as Judy Hoffs. She's the uniformed officer earlier in the film.

5:07 - and then people seriously believe that if policeman hadn't read Miranda rights, they are not under arrest. And get more charges for resisting or such. Miranda rights are read for the questioning, not for arrest!

Fun fact. You only are required to read Miranda rights before questioning. Any thing that the person says prior to being read their rights cannot be used in court. There is no requirement to read Miranda during an arrest
It is amazing how many guilty people will talk, and then volunteer for an interrogation and never ask for a lawyer or just leave.
Also “the right to a phone call” is a hollywood thing. No law in the US gives you that right. It’s a courtesy offered, but getting belligerent will lose you that privilege.

After the sequel (22 Jump street) they had planned to make a crossover movie between Jump Street and Men In Black. It would have been hilarious I’m sure, but it got canceled due to legal issues and then they made the crap fest fourth MIB movie with Chris Hemsworth instead
This takes place in 2005 or shortly there after, weed wasn’t legal in most places from my memory but yeah they were profiling like hell assuming the bikers were criminals lmao. They were right but def profiling

I love Ice Cube in the 2nd film. His role got expanded and he was so damn funny. But this was a great jumping off point for a film series. A third has been rumored for awhile but got stalled with COVID.
This is comedy and a movie lol, but in reality, the cops only have to read your Miranda rights if they are going to question you about incriminating info. Otherwise, they can arrest you, take you to jail and everything without ever reading them to you. A lot of times, they’ll read them to you just in case you start talking about the current or other crimes the arrestee has committed unprovoked.
