Great video and great timing! My 2021 GLA45 has developed this clunking noise over the last 8 weeks, accelerating in 1st gear and also on hard lock turns to the right. I took it to the dealer for an inspection and they reported nothing wrong. I then called back to try to speak to the engineer as the noise is still there, and funnily enough the engineer never called back. The problem has got worse and the car is now booked in again. The car only has 16k miles on the clock from new, and yet the problem clearly needs attention. I'll make sure they don't try to force me into a new diff, but looking at other forums it sounds like this is a very common issue and Mercedes dealers try their hardest not to sort these out under warranty. Mine is just out of the 3yr warranty but I've got 14mths left on the extended warranty from when I bought it. Really don't need a company of Mercedes' reputation trying to wriggle out of this!
Thanks for this video. Is it possible to overfill a differential? I did this with my 2018 gla 250 just today. Big money saver my local mercedes wanted to charge 600 for a diff fluid change. I bought the oil from them and by the time i bought ither supplies cost me about $150 so a big money saver forsure
It would be really tough. You'd have to over fill it a ton and then quickly put the fill bolt back before it drained out. Thanks for watching! That's a huge savings!
Thank you very much for providing this video. It was very helpful.

Thank you so much! Did this over the weekend. Appreciate the help. Now do we change the fluid on the front differential as well?
Was the noise comparable to a clunking sound sometimes when taking off from a stop.
yes when turning, or going up a hill from a stop. also longer trips when it warms up, it becomes more noticeable...
Este video me ha servido muchísimo,
ME GUSTARÍA PREGUNTARTE SI CONOCES LA UBICACIÓN DEL CAUDALÍMETRO O SENSOR MAF EN LA GLA 250 4matic 2017. Gracias

Will this work for cla 250 2018 also?
There’s actually a copper crush washer on the drain plug that’s meant to be cut off and replaced
Great Video.
What about 75W85 GL-5 Gear Oil - Quart from REDLINE oil? I've seen lots of forums mention it?
I can only recommend the OEM stuff I used but that is the same viscosity. Thanks for watching!
I have used this on a couple changes for my 19 GLA250.. no issues!
Καλημέρα, νά είσαι καλά Γιώργος μηχανικός από Κόρινθο Ελλάδα.
Usually remove the fill plug first and the oil is gl5 75w85, nothing special.
50 bucks for diff fluid?! Better than taking it to the deal I suppose
A million percent! Thanks for watching!
